Cannot complete Dark Talisman Quest?

I got CJB's mods installed and when i went to complete the quest using the mod, the quest disappeared but I don't have the item. I tried to talk to Krobus and the Wizard to try and track the quest but I can't go any further. What do I need to do to complete the quest or fix this?
