  1. So my problem with the Dragonsreach cell is fixed, I can get inside without the game crashing. However, I'm in the process of turning in the Bleak Falls Barrow quest and getting the Dragon Rising quest. And so long as I'm not looking at Irileth when she runs up, the game is fine. However, the moment I turn to the camera to look at her the game freezes. Alt+Tab'ing just gives me a black screen. I can't even close the game. So I have to restart my computer or sign off in order to be able to do anything else. At first I thought that maybe it had something to do with the main hall, but that didn't make sense because it was just fine when I entered the room. It's only when Irileth is in the scene. She'll be right at the edge of the camera when it freezes, no sooner, no later. I'm not sure why this is happening. I'll probably try uninstalling Book of Silence or Superior Lore Friendly Hair since those are the only two mods affecting her, but I imagine it's something else.
  2. ... you just singlehandedly solved my problem, and with very little information too. I didn't have the exact same mod as you(Though I do have the Frankly HD Miraak), but it was another Ebony Blade 4K Retexture. I switched it off after you mentioned your ebony blade mod and lo and behold I can now get into Dragonsreach no problem. Thank you so much. You have no idea how much time you just saved me.
  3. So, I heavily modded my Skyrim with texture mods and while everywhere else in the game worlds seems to work just fine, every time I try to enter Dragonsreach the game CTD's. I tried going in through the dungeon, but that didn't help. And I can't for the life of me figure out what mod could be causing it. I only have texture mods installed, that is all. Well, except SMIM and the unofficial patch. Should probably also mention that I'm using Special Edition. I posted about this on the SE forums, but, well, there are far less people over there to troubleshoot since the game just came out. All the texture mods I'm using are vanilla texture mods, so if this problem has ever cropped up before with a texture mod, I figure someone might know about it. As I said before, all these mods seem to work just fine with SE no problems, so I'm finding it strange that something is causing Dragonsreach to CTD when loading, especially when I'm not using a mod that specifically targets Dragonsreach. I've tried uninstalling a few mods that I thought might be the culprit, like LITTLE THINGS, Animated Clutter, and MAPS, but no dice. I have around 223 mods currently installed and I really don't feel like going through them one by one to find the one that's doing it. If there were a lot less installed, ok fine, but 223? Insanity. I don't think it's a compatibility problem with SE. I've had problems with a few mods over the past few days that were incompatible. They either caused the game to just not start, or they'd CTD when loading my save. The problem was fixed when I switched off the mod that caused it(Which was when I had a lot less mods installed.). This is the first time a specific cell has been affected rather than the entire game.
  4. Before I modded the game, it was perfectly fine. And even after I installed a metric ton of texture mods, it worked just fine which was amazing. And then I tried to enter Dragonsreach and it crashes on the loading screen every time. I'm having a hard time believing a texture mod is causing this CTD, so I'm curious if anyone else has run into this with a modded SE. And before anyone asks, yes, most of my texture mods are from vanilla Skyrim, but they all seem to work just fine with everywhere else in the game world(Though Skyrim HD Landscape looks a bit weird.) and none of them specifically target Dragonsreach and I can't for the life of me figure out why that one location would be cause a CTD.
  5. at 4K? fps? Right, should have clarified. I have it set to 1080p.I don't see any point in going higher than that(Not to mention I have 1080p display.) and my FPS is capped at 60.
  6. My GTX 980ti performs almost perfectly. It's only near Riverwood that I get a bit of stuttering.
  7. According to this thread: https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/4984145-currently-working-mods-megathread/ Cloaks of Skyrim works as is. I imagine an actual SSE version will be up eventually, but you can apparently you can use the current version with SSE.
  8. Is there a quality difference between low and high? Or does it just affect the number of god rays? I'm running a GTX 980ti but even I get the rare stutter outdoors and I'm wondering if it's the god rays. Someone had a performance fix up for them, but it's down now.
  9. Yeah, I probably have a couple that I'll need to self port as well, which means I'll need to learn how to use the creation kit.
  10. Not until SKSE SE(SESE?) is finished, because SkyUI needs that. However, the SkyUI team has said they have no plans to update SkyUI for Special Edition, so someone else will have to port it, or we'll need a new UI mod on the same level as SkyUI.
  11. The Special Edition will be more stable when modded thanks to it being 64bit instead of 32bit. I imagine the problems you had might have been due to conflicting mods or something. Hard to say without knowing what mods you used and in what order they were arranged. My suggestion is that, if you intend to mod Special Edition read up on the basics of modding Skyrim. Maybe someone can explain it to you better than I could. It took me a bit to get the hang of modding at first. So many crashes before I finally figured out how to get my mods to play nice with the game.
  12. No. Tannin now works for the NMM team and it has been announced that MO will not be developed further and thus not support Special Edition. NMM will get an update in the next day or so to support Special Edition while Tannin and the others work on a completely new NMM that incorporates what people liked about Mod Organizer. Basically it's a brand new hybrid mod manager, but that won't be out for a while yet.
  13. At least some of the popular modding tools will have quick updates. We already have a Special Edition version of TES5Edit and NMM will be updated soon to support SE. That just leaves LOOT, FNIS, and SKSE.
  14. There was a thread floating around from Arthmoor that laid out how modding SE is gonna work. What needs changing and what might work without alterations. EDIT: Here it is. http://afkmods.iguanadons.net/index.php?/topic/4633-skyrim-se-things-to-know-when-converting-standard-mods-to-sse/
  15. I'll admit, I'm also a little worried. I mean, most of those are probably just pre-emptive uploads, but I imagine a few are people who didn't get the memo about how different SE is from LE.
  16. Now that would be amazing :D It feels like a necessity to me, because in order to surpass the 255 mod limit you have to use the bashed patch, which can only be made in Wrye Bash. I've never tried using it because it was always too much of a pain to go through multiple mod managers. I also wish NMM had OMOD and BAIN support, but unfortunately it doesn't despite being descended from OBMM. Modding Oblivion becomes painful because some mods must absolutely be installed from OBMM. Things would be so much easier if there was only one be all, end all mod manager. Combine Nexus Mod Manager, Mod Organizer, Wrye Bash, Oblivion Mod Manager, Fallout Mod Manager, ME3Explorer/TexMod, Dragon Age Inquisition Mod Manager, just have a one stop shop for all your modding needs and have a team dedicated to creating custom mod tools for games that don't have any.
  17. Yup. He's working on the new NMM that will replace both the current NMM and MO/MO2. It'll be kind of a fusion of both while being all around better. Now if only they could merge Wrye Bash with NMM...
  18. Thank you LordNyron!! Any thoughts on my other 3 questions? I just want to make sure this is all done right this time as my original Skyrim install I did not realize about cleaning Update.esm, installing LOOT, TES5Edit.....etc. and other things that Gopher touched on in many of his youtube videos before it was far too late in my playthrough, though that playthrough is now on save 9,860 and running quite well with 247 mods lol I can't speak to any of that. I never once cleaned my files and I haven't heard anyone mention whether or not the new stuff needs to be cleaned with the new version of TES5Edit. I only had an answer for the first question. Someone else will probably be able to answer everything else.
  19. Within a day or two of the games launch, NMM will be update to support SSE, it will be separate from Skyrim Legendary Edition so you don't have to worry about it messing with your mods.
  20. They're probably being uploaded so that they're their and can be updated later when the necessary requirements are finally available. It's also a guarantee of SE support for that particular mod. Though I don't doubt that some people uploaded their mods not realizing they aren't compatible.
  21. The SKSE team said they will make a version for Special Edition, they just didn't give a time frame as to when it'll be released. Most people have speculated that it will be within the first month at the most, but no one knows for sure.
  22. NMM hasn't been updated to support SE yet. It will be either tomorrow or Friday.
  23. If I had to guess it was both. I know that when you exceeded or got too close to the memory limit the game would either crash or black screen.
  24. Here's a breakdown of what it has(That I know of or have been told of.): - 64bit - DirectX11 - Advanced Physics Engine(Think HDT, but baked in this time. Basically, it's Fallout 4's physics engine.) - Upgraded Shaders(i.e. Snow, Water, etc.) - Massive amounts of foliage - Higher Resolution Textures(Surpasses the Official High Resolution DLC, or at least, they're higher quality than they were before.) - God Rays - Volumetric Fog/Clouds - Subsurface Scattering(I noticed it on leaves and water, not sure about skin and other objects.) - Depth of Field
  25. Hold onto it. Special Edition will make a great base for future Skyrim playthroughs, but it will take a while for the mod catalogue to build, so until then you're better off keeping Legendary Edition for modded playthroughs and Special Edition for vanilla playthroughs. I already have Special Edition preloaded so I can do a vanilla playthrough. Never did get around to playing Dragonborn because I kept getting sidetracked by mods. This'll give me a chance to just enjoy the game.
