  1. Just as the title asks... Can you use the Elys Uncapper and Realistic Leveling together?
  2. http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=9655 http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=10740 I might not know any links to help you mod your own, but these are 2 mods I am familiar with that do the job, and do it well. If you have the CS, just load em up and look and see what they did.
  3. First and foremost (I cannot stress this enough), READ EVERYTHING FIRST!!!!! Do not think it is a waste of time to read it all, then start over and follow. You WILL be glad you did. Second, there is more than just that page. Look for the FCOM optional link, the FCOM wiki link, both the short and long load order links. the TOTO link... Basically scroll to the bottom of that site and click the "home" button. READ EVERYTHING! If you don't, you will miss little things that will "screw the pooch" like having to manually rename a bsa, or where to get the latest small FCOM unofficial hotfix, or how to copy/rename and/or create an oblivion.esp. FCOM is huge, but it takes a lot more time reading about it than it does to install it! Something that FCOM does say enough about is the initial install. Install Oblivion first, patch if needed. Install SI and patch if needed. Then install any of the DLC's you have. At this point, you would install any of the programs you will need to run it all. OBMM, Wrye Bash, Wrye Python, Python, Visual C++, OBSE, Pluggy, OBGE, BOSS etc. Now you will need to install all of the unofficial plugins. Make sure you get the MOBS version! After all that, you can start your FCOM installation. **EDIT** I should also note that after the UOpatches installation is when I believe the best time is to add any texture packs you might want. Texture only packs, with no esp's or esm's. Like QTP3 Redimized. You don't have to mess with the load order til you are finished with the initial FCOM install. If you only install what they tell you, and do it exactly the way they tell you, then FCOM will work perfectly. So you only need to set your load order, and build your bashed patch after you are finished with the instructions on installing FCOM. After that, however, you will want to set load order and rebuild bashed patch everytime you install something new, then launch the game and look for bugs. I would recommend downloading the new MMM373BSA.7z (398Mb) and new MMM_37b3_Public_Release-17784.7z (5.98Mb) release files. That way you know you have everything you need, and it doesn't become a problem later.
  4. Sounds like he is making a switchblade of sorts... Would be less like making a sword, and more like making a crossbow I think. Not an easy task to take on for someone without experience.
  5. I am using MMM inside of an FCOM install, and using its "Mart's Monster Mod - Slof Horses Complete.esp". I am also using the official horse armor DLC, and the unofficial patches. When installing Qarl's Harvest, do I need any of the optional files? This is rather confusing, since Qarl's says its MMM compatible, but has optional files for slof's and the DLC.
  6. Thanks nosisab. That makes sense. For my second question I am guessing the best way to do it is install QTP3 first. That way I don't mess up any changes from other mods. I just worry that some of these mods might be writing in lower rez textures over QTP3, when QTP3's would have worked fine.
  7. First question: When you deactivate an OMOD, does it revert your Data folder to what it changed or just delete what it installed? Example: If I was to install some small texture packs then make an OMOD of QTP3Redimized and activate it, then deactivate the OMOD, would any overwrites that the OMOD made to my small texture packs revert or would it simply delete all the files that it added to the Data folder? Second question: If I am running mods like FCOM, Better Cities, UL Compilation, etc, when would I want to install QTP3R?
  8. Thanks Maigrets! So I grab the main stock file, the eve for arm file, and the FCOM patch file, correct? Then I will be running the Khajiitfix.esp, the knights esp, the SI esp, the female arm...esp, and using the FCOM esp in lieu of the eve stock esp? That sound about right?
  9. Thanks ZareCograth! It seems every search I have done compairing LAME to SM has had SM as the winner. I will go with it and Midas. It also seems I missed reading a section of the Armamentarium readme, so I got the answer for that now as well. This leaves me still wondering about getting the EVE HGEC Armamentarium patch working. Since posting, I have answered a lot of my other questions by googling. I guess if I find more I will post here. Right now I am just looking for someone who has/is using FCOM HGEC and Armamentarium that can give me some pointers on getting it to work.
  10. For those of you that read my mod list post, I did a lot more research and found a lot of changes I wanted to make, so I decided to start over with a fresh install, and now I have some questions. I am changing from MMR to LAME. I read that there is a lot of good and interesting magic in Supreme Magicka and that it does work with LAME. I am also concidering Midas Magick into the mix. Questions 1-2: Would I be better off skipping SM, and just going with LAME + Midas or is ok to have all 3? If I do use SM, should I place it before or after LAME in regards to using them with FCOM (ie: which is better balanced to FCOM)? I like knowing I have a huge amount of options for weapons and armor. I know that FCOM itself adds a lot of this between the mods it joins. However, I just found out about Armamentarium, and it looks awesome! I would love to use this mod as well, and it has patches for OOO, Frans, and MMM. Questions 3-5: Can I use Armamentarium with FCOM? If so, what patch(es) do I need to use? (I am thinking the OOO one, but want to be sure) I also plan on using the HGEC body, which Armamentarium has a seperate download for called EVE, which also has different patches, so would I use the OOO file and HGEC file? I have a few other FCOM questions, but I will wait to ask.
  11. Somehow I missed your post, and just found it when I was re-reading the thread for some info. I looked at the Akatosh mount, and decided against it... Maybe later. I opted to use the Beautiful People mod, which has Rens in it. I already decided to use Shadowcrest! =) Armamentarium looks AWESOME! I just got done downloading it. Though it looks like it is gonna take some doing to get it working right. I also decided to switch from Exnems to the HGEC body mod after reading more into it, and there is a mod that adds HGEC meshes to Armamentarium. Plus I have to use seperate downloads for adding Arm into my big mods. I have to read some more, but I believe that using the OOO version is what I need for FCOM. I think I will have to ask in the MOD forums to be sure. After spending a lot more time reading and getting advice in this thread and the thread I started in the MOD section, I have decided to start over. =( I found better options for the areas I wanted to improve the game in, and found I read a few things wrong that changed what I needed in some cases. I am hoping I can make it through this install a lot faster than the last one. I just started reading about BAIN, and am going to utilize it this time around.
  12. I will be downloading DR6 for sure! Now, for the nifs... Where am I finding these? I have very few files in my texture and mesh LOD folders, but I just looked in my distantLOD, and I have friggin 15654 files in there!! Can that be right? Or is something amiss?
  13. TA is, yes. I will turn it off and see what happens. I was supposed to have drop lit torches with OOO too (or MMM, cant remember which) but it refused to work. I had to add it in as a seperate mod. Kingdom of Alamar I got when I thought I was going to use Kvatch aftermath. Made by the same author, with the ability to have the 2 mods "talk" to each other. I just read through the readme, and it does mention that he will be working on quests, but it doesn't say if there is any in it. I believe I am going to scratch that one. I don't like all the talk about the potions being godlike. I have a quest listed that is not supposed to be there: Knights of the White Stallion. Feudal Empire is KotWS. It is the next level of the mod. I played a bit of KotWS when I first got Oblivion, so its one I am familiar with, and it is definately a quest. I am going to continue looking through my quests to see what else I might be able to get rid of. Technically speaking, I can lose 2 ticks in wrye bash, just by turning off part 2 of Aesgaard and the esp I have loaded to keep part 2 from loading! lol
  14. Thanks alot for the input, everyone! I actually wanted to use the LAME/SM combo, but FCOM said there was issues with SM, and suggested MMR instead. I have never been a heavy magic user anyway. Rusty weapons was just one of those things that was in the optional part of the FCOM instructions. With all I downloaded, I probably got some of them placed in the wrong category. Everything I installed is there because I read the readme and liked it, but I can't remember what each one does. I will look a bit more at (what I thought to be) my quests, and make sure I didn't get ones that I will not like (ie: aren't quests). I was wondering if I can turn the quests off once I beat them (the smaller ones) without causing any issues. If they lead me to bland or overpowered items, then I will sell them or put em in a display case once I get a house. I wanted to make sure I could do that though. Can I safely turn off a quest mod after I finish it? Will I still keep whatever items I may have gotten from the mod? Again, thanks for your input!
  15. Sorry, I forgot to answer this part of your post. Yes, thats exactly what happened. I didn't care for the animations though. When I used the DR dodge, it would make the camera go underground. Don't get me wrong, the 1st person ani view would help to make a non DR using game more immersing, but with DR it only serves to break the immersion.
  16. Well, it took some time to find actually. I read about the tweak file on the FCOM wiki site, i believe, but the link was broken. It took some googling to find it. The file is called DRtestfix.zip and its 185kb. Just a replacement esp. I can't remember how I finally found it. You can hunt it down if you want, or just send me a PM with your email addy and I can shoot it to you. Just export your omod to a folder with the omod options intact, replace the esp, and rebuild it! You have 2GB of video huh? Man, When I built this computer the 2x 8800GTX cards I put in it at 768MB was pretty excessive. lol I hate how fast technology advances! What files did you delete? I want to do the same. Just have the big things viewable. I don't think I have a weak system. At least I didn't when I built it 2 years ago. I'm running an EVGA setup. 780i mobo, 2x 8800GTX SLI'ed and OC'ed to 621 Core, E8400 3GHz Dual Core OC'ed to 4GHz, 4GB of Corsair cas5, 2x 500GB 32MB Barracudas, and 900 watts of Tagan Below Zero love. I am actually looking at better ram right now though. I kinda skimped on it when I built. I am sure that my system is probably considered middle of the road now though. lol I was getting ready to shut off Streamline anyway. I only wanted it because of the autosave feature. Nothing like dying and realizing how long its been since you saved!
  17. This is what I am currently running, and it seems to be working properly. Technically I have 175 mods installed (if you count ones like OOO and FCOM as 1). Some are OBSE only, and some are file replacement only, which equates to 313 files in my load order. After building my bash patch, I am able to safely uncheck (make virtual) 60 files, leaving me with 1 mod to spare: 253 files loaded. 18. Just wanted to post this for anyone else who may want to try it. This discussion has been going on in the General Oblivion section, but I figured this kind of info would be better served here. This is what I am currently running, and it seems to be working properly. Technically I have 175 mods installed (if you count ones like OOO and FCOM as 1). 19. I mod my ini. Helps me with not having more ticks in my load order for silly things like bBorderRegionsEnabled=0 instead of having an esp do it for me. I am using DR5, but with a seperate download of tweaked esp's for it. Think it was called an unofficial fix. Saw lots of cool things with DR6, though it looks like the author fell off the edge of the world or something. My ini has not been rewritten back to the original. If it was I would have lost my bBorderRegionsEnabled=0 a while ago. I have only edited it once, and have erased my saves and started a new game about 4 times now. Every time having to reassign keys for DR5. Maybe that is one of the bugs fixed by the patch I got? Did you have the patch?
  20. Wrye has a wiki that I used. Not sure about their site. I just installed FCOM for the second time (last time being 2 years ago), and it took me about 5 hours from disk insert til I was ready to install the rest of the mods that didnt have any major FCOM business. They have really tweaked their site up, and FCOM itself. Plus their wiki helped alot. I have to say that this time was a lot easier then last time. It may have a little to do with me already having a clue, but I think it is mainly because of all the time and effort they have put into it over the years!
  21. The game is running really smooth. So far all I have had to do was rename my MMM.bsa (like I should have when I installed), remove the etheral eyes mod and the 3rd person animation in 1st person view mod. The only complaint I have right now is OOO's drop lit torches is not working. Only mod I can point a finger at right now would be the dungeon npc's have torches mod, but Im not sure yet. With the darker dungeons, I would hate to lose the npc torches. I only have room for 1 more check in my list, so I think I will try just adding the DLT OBSE mod at the end of my list and see if that fixes things. I still have one more thing to try before I delve into my new world. I saw the LOD mods like "almost everything" and "more than almost everything" and wasn't sure that was what I wanted. Then I came across a mod that takes in game screen shots, with my towns and addons and extras, and turns them into LODs. At least, I think thats what it does. Anyway... Off to install DLT, and make some LODs. Then time to play a few hours!
  22. HAHAHAHA!!!! I remember reading it, then getting sidetracked and forgetting about it. For whatever reason, MMM decided that you had to rename their BSA file depending on what other conversion mod(s) you planned on running. My green corpses, and my missing meshes were both because of not renaming my MMM.bsa to FCOM_Convergence - MMM.BSA!!! Now all I have to do is find where I can get those files I overwrote.....
  23. Ok, Im not so worried bout the crash on exit, as it seems to be something I may have to live with being so heavily modded. I had a googly eye problem I fixed, and another issue with my 1st person camera that I think know what caused it (3rd person animations in 1st person texture replace mixed with Deadly Reflex moves). Though I forgot to backup the 1st person animations, so now I have to find a way to get them. I seem to have a grey screen problem. Lots of topics on it, but no fixes. More than likely a variant of the nVidia black screen bug. I am not terribly worried about this yet, as I have only had brief times it happened (course, I haven't even made it out of the sewers yet). My biggest issue right now is few big *POW* stars saying missing mesh (I believe they are for a bow), and every dead npc (including ones that were never alive, like the skeletons lying around right in the beginning) is green! Rats, Skeletons, Assassins, the royal guards that die along the way.... All of them turn green! Including any clothes or armor they are wearing. When I take the armor or clothing and put it on, it is fine. I have tried googling this, but have come up empty handed... Back to bug fixing.
  24. For anyone interested, here is a link to the screen caps of my wryebash. http://www.flickr.com/photos/chatsauvage/s...57623505415576/ Before anyone asks, the SauvKitfix was my final attempt at merging about a dozen weapon and armor mods together. Don't even know if it works yet.
  25. Believe it or not........ 312 mods installed and running, and I loaded the game up and started a new quest with no crashes!!!! I am going to have to edit my keys though, Deadly Reflex caught me off guard, and I seem to have the nVidia black screen bug (I remember that from the last time). I even had the wrong OBSE, fixed that. Only thing I am stuck with is a crash on exiting the game. That may be a Win7 issue though. Have to set my compatibility on the game and obse. I will post more tomorrow after I get out of the sewers and see what happens! Think I will call it a night! Is that a record or something? 312 mods with no CTDs on the first try? lol I need a pain pill!
