Heya! I played around 700+ hrs of NV until my PS3 broke around 3 years ago. I would like to come back again and I would like to spice things up just enough to make things a little bit more interesting. What would be the best or essential NV mods for a PC beginner like me? I personally would like to start with re-texture/ prettied up environment/ lore friendly weapons.

I am disturbed by the lack of bunny bonnets, ie like the cardboard cutout in the egg festival. Also, I haven't seen any mod that give the dogs/cats any other function other than being cute abominations that they are. Suggestion: Make them fetch/ dig random stuff at least once a day depending on your level of bond.
