  2. There are two major differences between this two games. #1 Materials have changed, so if you gonna see green car/building or any other model then probably mod is dedicated for the classic version. You can convert cars from Classic to Definitive Edition with this guide. #2 Definitive Edition uses newer Fmod Sound System (FSB5, since Mafia 2 classic uses FSB4), if you can't hear the sounds of vehicles or other sounds then probably fsb files (sound files) are old. You can always extract fsb4 and create FSB5 file with Fmod Engine 2.02.03.
  3. All Mafia games except Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven (since Mafia 2 to Mafia Definitive Edition from 2020) have game files packed into SDS archives and there are mods that modify the same one file in the archive. An example of this is the various table files inside tables.sds or ingame.sds archives. In this case, in order for both mods to work you need to edit these files manually by analyzing the changes. I don't think anyone can write a plugin for Vortex that can extract sds archives and edit table files. Most of mods have the same process of installation. Just open game folder and unpack mod files from zip archive, replace the files and play. Mod utility is called Mafia Toolkit - available on nexus or github There are some youtube tutorials about tool - playlist #1 and playlist #2, also we have discord server about modding - invite link is here
