Yes, of course! Thank you Lord Garon! I had saved during animations which caused the script to keep running or something to that affect. One answer I received from a brilliant mind was this. A proper clean save followed by the FNIS update worked like a champ  Then, CTD is never caused by FNIS (Behaviors). It can be caused by FNIS Spells, which is only a small add-on, like by any other scripted mod, especially when it has changed some internal interfaces. 2 mod common causes of CTD: low memory. If you have little memory and/or run memory consuming programs in the background you can easily get CTD. Like where you said Tpose -> freeze -> CTD. That's typical. change in any scripted mod, especially when your saves where made while the scripts where running. Indication "Error: Cannot play a None idle on an actor". Make a clean save. If you don't know how to do that then look into the FNIS FAQ.

Thank you for such a detailed reply, man!! Good looking out!! I just did not feel cozy with leaving my Skyrim folder defenseless like that in "Exceptions" I gave in though, before I got the chance to see your answer, uninstalled Avast and got MSE, which of course says SKSE is good to go. The MSE "lore friendly" blue castle and banner icon won me over, I think. Thanks again, dwiss! I appreciate it! :)

I am sorry to open this thread back up! I cant upgrade to version 131026-2. Avast phone support was unable to tell me how to. I updated the program and the virus definitions, however Avast will not update further than Program version 2014.9.0.2006 Virus definition 131027-0. SKSE is still in my quarantine and I still have the entire Skyrim folder in exclusions. If someone would be so kind as to lend some advice? Are there any other free antivirus that might play nice with SKSE? For the time being, it is considered safe to DL any mods off of the Nexus without virus's?
-
EDIT - I spoke with the Avast heathens a couple of hours ago and they were lollygagging. If anyone hears for sure that they have fixed it, would you be so kind as to alert the community via this thread, please? That way some of us can stop hunting for a new antivirus? btw.. I was about to install a couple of Nexus mods...those are all deemed virus free, obviously, right? Since I have forsaken my defenses in the Skyrim folder for the time being?

I am so new to all this and computers in general. Could you please be so kind as to explain how to get my desktop icon back? I followed your steps so far :)

Sweet baby Talos, I thought it was just me! My whole icon just disappeared! I think I am getting The fear over here.

Well, its always a good idea to update mods. Papyrus logs are rarely useful for indicating crash causes. MANY "errors" and log entries are a result of normal game operations. If you watch them long enough (not recommended), you'll see they simply go away as the game engine catches up to events, loads new cell data, etc, etc. I found this on the FNIS mod page: I have de-installed one of the mods which use FNIS Behavior. Now I get CTD when loading a save file. That's a sytem reaction when a behavior file is missing. Run GenerateFNISforUsers.exe and you should be fine again. Its not your situation, but a missing behavior file can cause a CTD. You might try running the generator again and see if it helps, especially if the CTD happens at repeatable points in the game (when a particular animation is used). If not, try the upgrade. I hesitate to say it, but I don't think it could hurt. Just out of curiosity, how do you start your game? Lord Garon, thank you. I just found out that readme extraction settings must be changed in NMM to allow for readmes. Animation mods are sometimes dependent on them. My game is loading up now, although I still cant get FNIS spells to animate for some reason. Im not sure what I have done wrong. I start my game via SKSE. I have autosave & steam cloud disabled and I just hardsave. Not that you asked all that just didnt want to leave anything out. I really appreciate you trying to help me sort it out, thank you so much.

I am a save game bloat hypochondriac. Just in case you have not heard about it, there is a SKSE fix to help maintain a safe file size, if you utilize SKSE. Go to Skyrim/Data. Create a new folder named SKSE.ini Open notepad in a new tab. Write- [general] ClearInvalidRegistrations=1 save and name it "SKSE.ini" and close. You will find it in documents. Drag and drop it in the SKSE folder you made. Wahh lah! Here is a link. http://www.darkcreations.org/forums/topic/3752-skse-cleans-invalid-scripts-from-old-mods/. Sorry if you've already heard about it!

Need bigtime help with CTD!
LoveMeSomeUlfric7 replied to LoveMeSomeUlfric7's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Oh my goodness, the fact that you translated any of that Matrix is so impressive to me! Thank you very much! I hope there is a way to fix it. I heard that if I remove a mod without Wyre Bash it can cause problems, even if you use a earlier save? -
Need bigtime help with CTD!
LoveMeSomeUlfric7 replied to LoveMeSomeUlfric7's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Thank you. I save through console so I have a save named "before animations." I was really hoping to get FNIS proper though, as my whole goal is to get some animations in particular that require FNIS :) -
Please help! I installed FNIS and the Pretty motion pack about two weeks ago. It worked well and good for about a week or so. Now I CTD 95% of the time. I suspect FNIS because one of the times it decided to load, I was in a frozen game with a T-pose. Now FNIS spells do not work, even though Pretty motion pack does. Here is some info to help. I have Skyrim 1.9.32.0.8 SKSE version 1.6.16 rel44 FNIS version 4.0.1 (I see a new version just came out could that be the issue?) Here is a snippet of my papyrus logs
-
I doubt that it matters unless there are other things in the esp files. But the mod author didn't give a load order, so they're probably fine where they are. Are you having issues with the mods, or are you just concerned about the load order? Yes. I CTD. I installed FNIS and the Pretty motion pack about two weeks ago. It worked well and good for about a week or so. Now I CTD 95% of the time. I suspect FNIS because FNIs spells do not work now all of the sudden and because one of the times it decided to load, I was in a frozen game with a Tpose. Here is some info to help. I have Skyrim 1.9.32.0.8 SKSE version 1.6.16 rel44 FNIS version 4.0.1 (I see a new version just came out could that be the issue?) Here is a snippet of my papyrus logs

Phallus of flailing! Nice one. I did just hear about a mod called SL Romance. It is an external link (dont think those are allowed?) It requires FNIS and SL, of course and it might be more intricate than what some had in mind. I have not tested it and I just heard that the author might have stepped away from his desk for a moment & that SL Romance in need of an update so who knows. I'm not vouching for it... just spreading the word

I wish there was a like button for almost all the above comments. I was surprised to not find a simple sexytime mod in Skyrim that does not involve madness I wont mention aloud. I just knew I would find a link to a simple romance/sexytime mod when I stumbled on this thread. At least I know, now that I am not the only one! lol. Could someone use sexlab to create a little gem for us? Wink wink, nudge nudge?

The Ultimate Fix for Bloated Saves (Freezing Lag)
LoveMeSomeUlfric7 replied to Zaatch's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
ok, any help is well appreciated. I am so new to this and so lost. I am reading on another site that my Skyrim folder size is normal at 7.30GB? To me that sounds crazy bloated! Am I checking it right? Im on my first pc game here. My first round of Skyrim got to over 150MB with only 4 common Nexus mods, no DLC and nothing uninstalled ever. I used the SKSE fix and it brought my save down to 40MB before I cleared out everything and reinstalled. At first investigation, I suspected BYOH mod, however I do not have that installed this round and lo and behold... My new game folder stayed at 12MB for my first 100 hrs of play then, after installing Hearthfire & HF patches, it jumped to 7.30GB! In one day. Now even my backup folder, that only has patches on it, is 5.58GB!? Is this a computer problem, a steam problem or even a problem at all?! Looking through my Skyrim folder, I see every file size is in the KB's now. Someone told me that a 7GB Skyrim would shatter time and space and that it's impossible. My Skyrim properties says 7.30GB (7.841,343,814 bytes) contains 1,774 files, 241 folders. So, Time and Space still exists, just not in my Skyrim. Actually, my game runs still, it just stutters sometimes. Im sure it will explode my pc at any minute. Please help!- 6 replies

No bald heads or a fix for that? Thick Viking legs, if possible. A face mod without the neck seam problem or a fix for that if needed Any advice is appreciated. Thank you!!

SKSE ClearInvalidRegistrations ini file question.
LoveMeSomeUlfric7 replied to CannedBullets's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
CannedBullets, I would SO appreciate your advice. I am kind of new to pc. I am 159 hours in at 133 MB  I have never uninstalled a mod. Would this help me? I installed SKSE and just got the NMM. I made a folder in notepad and named it with .ini. Is it a ini file now? I didn't see the option to change file type. If you create a new document with Notepad its file extension will be ".txt". You'll have to change it to ".ini". If you don't see the file extension it means your operating system is hiding it. Unhide it first (Google if you don't know how). When you turn it into an .ini file you should automatically see the icon change (for me in Windows 7 it's a text document with a blue gear). Also its file type description will no longer say it's a text file but a configuration file. I hope that makes sense. It's a bit hard for me to explain because my Windows isn't in English. And yes it's ClearInvalidRegistrations=1. It's binary. 1 means enabled. 0 means disabled. thenobody0, Thank you so much! You explained it perfectly. I really appreciate it! You are awesome! Let me go see if I can figure this out, now :) -

SoS civilization will bloat your save if you uninstall. A reinstall will not work, dont try it. Do this: Download and install skse http://skse.silverlock.org/ In /data/skse/ create a file with the name skse.ini write in the file [General] ClearInvalidRegistrations=1 Start skyrim and park your character somewhere. Go and do something different, let skyrim run for an hour untouched. If it works (and the cause is sos-civ) the savegamesize should be reduced. I am SO happy I found this thread! I am new to pc gaming, getting up nerves to try and run TES5edit and figure out SKSE. I am 150 hours and 100MB! My best save is 83MB :( The weird part is, my backup before I had any mods is 133MB! I have never uninstalled any mods ever. I have BYOH also! I am going to hibernate in Skyrim and try and figure out SKSE. Any advice is SO appreciated. This is what BOSS says, although I also have an armor mod that shows up last in my load order. Save bloat and likely corruption -help

Oh my gosh! You are the only good advice I have been able to find on the subject. I'm new to pc gaming and am completely unfamiliar with SKSE. I am so lost. My game is 100MB at 150 hours in. The best backup save I have is 83 MB. The weird part is the save I made months ago before any mods is at 133MB?! I haven't uninstalled any mods ever, so I'm not sure what would help me. I am really hoping to fix this. I would very much appreciate your help!- 6 replies
