  1. Problem is this "CDN Test: 0.1MB/s"

I am downloading at a pretty crippled rate. I cannot change my download server preference - preferred download location is locked to CDN.

"Are the downloads slow both in Vortex and manually?" -> "Tests run in Vortex for convenience, however same issue occurs with direct download in browser (Chrome)" Yes.

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

These terribly bad download speeds have only resulted at some point in the last two weeks - the last time I downloaded large files on the 14th day of May, 2023, speeds were as they would be expected to be for someone at Supporter tier. Tests run in Vortex for convenience, however same issue occurs with direct download in browser (Chrome)

  3. Perk 1: lightweight, pro if ever slightly possible, this gives you the ability to drop on them from above for awesome NINJA'D!!! moments.

Perk 2: doesnt really need one, I'd say Sleight Of Hand for perfectionists, anything goes since you're not really going to be doing any shooting whatsoever.

Perk 3: marathon pro is your ideal choice since you'll be sprinting literaly constantly, but you COULD supp to Ninja Pro and become a true ninja in the night.

Go Perk 2: Steady Aim Pro. Recover from knife lunges faster :)

  4. On a related note, could it be tied in with the tracking system? I mean, as it is, the tracking system isn't that useful. It doesn't notify you when something happens, and it doesn't show what changed, only something generic like "New image added". If there was a way that would allow a file author to add a message that would show up in the file tracking part, with the option to be notified, well....that'd be nice, I guess. I suppose it would be misused in some way too, but it's an idea.

The notification system does do something if you happen to go "Premium". You get a nice little notification tool (think the Facebook notification icon) which tells you of updates. Of course, you have to contribute money to get this (but if you happen to be a frequent user of the Nexus, yadda yadda, blatant plug for premium here, help the site, etc :P )

  5. The forum software itself may not support it - something to bear in mind. And don't forget Dark0ne has a lot on his plate as it is with the Nexus :P

But yeah, I wouldn't mind scrubbing the AP info out and replacing it with location, gender, or even age (lol a/s/l) (optional, obviously. Not everyone would want it up). I don't see the AP info as being even remotely useful to forum users :?

  6. The only two groups I can really understand hating steam are the retailers (Steam is kicking the bejeezuz out of most physical stores), and the pirates (but they have no say :P ).

I've been using Steam for years (first game was DoD Source). The only problems I've had - the recent Black Ops stuff-up, and me running out of money. Personally I'm glad that I don't need to keep discs/keys. Just as well when I had to reinstall Modern Warfare 2 (corrupted HDD, then found my DVD was broken).

I'm surprised people are having their auto-updates turning back on (never happened to me), although auto-updates are somewhat useful - particularly for the not-so-tech-savvy people, does it for them. Also, after reinstalling Windows, I don't have to waste time reinstalling all my games (I keep Steam on a seperate HDD) - run steam, reinstalls itself, run game (registers the game to the registry etc), play.

You can probably guess my opinion on all this is, why aren't all games just put through steam (or impulse, etc)? Physical media irritates me :P

As a side note that just occurred to me - Steam In-game is useful to use for the web browser, particularly when it comes to the Beth.Soft. games (alt-tab crash goodness).

EDIT: oh, ginnyfizz, it probably isn't Steam stopping Arcania from running - it is a poorly coded game, lags like crap even on a good rig. Engine issues annoyed me that much I quit playing after 3 hours. Probably find it is just killing itself with its buggyness.

  7. The beginner NPC corps you get put into at the start tend to have a number of helpful people in term too - usually the longterm hi-sec miners and mission runners (usually insultingly called 'carebears') as well as newbies, so you can usually get help from experienced people there too (heck, I'm sitting in one of them right now, after idling in it for a long term absence).

But yeah, the new tutorial helps a lot compared to how it used to be (it's just a steep learning curve now, rather than a learning cliff).

  8. Sorry if this is a stupid question, but where did the image come from? Most of the time there will be some sort of details regarding where it's from. It doesn't look like any of the armors I've come across in mods thus far.

It's taken from the nexus. Here it is the link: http://www.tesnexus.com/imageshare/image.php?id=73796

A person said that this is a Lineage 2 armor.

The armor can be found here http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=17382

Ummmm... that is NOWHERE near the same armour sorry.

  9. Hi everyone.

I was wondering what mod contains the robe/hood that the character in the image is wearing:

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

From the Vermillion and Silverthorn robes mod by Kafei

    http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=4072

    There you go ^^

Gwuh? Looks like someone got the texture from that mod and imposed it on another robe mesh.

Thank you very much for your help!

For a similar mesh, search for robes by Gizmodian. I seem to recall some of them having open fronts like that.

With the size of the bust, I'd say that robe is from some DM based... probably the DMRA robe replacers?

  10. @Philosophiac: From what I see from the bannings around here, they are fairly warranted it almost all cases - when the user clearly violated the ToS (which most don't read, but hey, you're still bound by them).

For the most part, the various bannings keep most modders happy (such as getting rid of the mod thieves) or to meet legal obligations (copyright infringement, and piracy). Questioning mod actions should really be done through PM convo's though.

However, I will agree with your remark about the "no offense". Generally people use it when they actually mean "I'm making a subtle stab at you". At least it does in this part of the world.

  11. I got it today.

    And I'm shocked.

I can play cod6 on highsettings at 1280x720 without lags.

I can't play Black Ops on lowest settings on 800x600(!!!). It lags too much.

Two things can help with that. 1) disable steam community in-game, and 2) open up task manager when black ops is running, set the process to High priority, and steam.exe to low.

  12. I've been trying to find the orange-black colored version of DSR armor pictured here, but I can't seem to find it. I'm guessing that it got buried inside the uploader site. Can someone help me with this?

"Black Squall Knight" would be its name, iirc. Oblivion is being a bit of a brat for me at the moment, so can't be sure about it
