  1. I also hate to revive this thread, but I am experiencing the same issue. I tried FixTransparencyBugs=false, but it was already set to false, so I tried setting it to true, still no luck. Then I installed NMC's fix for it, which still didn't work. The textures are normal when any part of the steam overlay is active, like taking a screenshot or pressing shift+tab.
  2. Re-installation fixed everything but the rocks. They don't looks like that by default do they?
  3. Turns out there are a heck of a lot of messed up LODs. I'm just gonna re-install my NV.
  4. I'll start off by saying that I was making a mod, I generated LODs, screwed some things up, thought I fixed it and now I notice a small problem. This one type of rock generates a lower resolution LOD despite its texture being identical in size and resolution to the other rock LODs on the atlas texture. Here's the rock LOD in-game: http://i.gyazo.com/9d57d27d13f558fb3e4b64e41fc5246e.png And here's the atlas texture: http://i.gyazo.com/f95941d6821649159875a4aab065d2e2.png And I'll finish by saying it's not a huge deal, but it does bother me. I would appreciate any help in resolving this issue. I'm confident it will be a quick fix.
  5. Fixed the issue. I had the Project Brazil .esm checked, but the mod files were deleted.
  6. So, I don't know what I did, but when I press new game, the cut-scene doesn't play and the game spawns me. I can see my HUD, but the rest of the screen is black. I can however still load old save files perfectly fine. I don't know what other info to put, but if anyone could help me, I would be appreciate it.
  7. I delete the mesh LOD's every time, yet the same ones keep getting generated regardless. I delete the blocks and stingers folders. It's something else I think. Man LOD's are a pain.
  8. Oh my god it worked! Thanks a million man, I owe you my left arm! Just one quick thing before I conclude this whole thread. Why is it that there are some rock LOD's present in areas where I deleted them? Shouldn't the generation process have fixed that?
  9. And what should I edit with the models? I'm not familiar with this kind of stuff. Edit: Nevermind. I see what I need to do. Now hopefully this will work. Sorry for all the questions thus far. I'm still pretty new to all this, but I am extremely grateful that you've answered all of my questions as best as you could. I just really wanna make sure I fix this. I've been too distracted by it to actually work on my mod.
  10. Okay I gotta know, which file do I open exactly? I've tried fixing the already-generated WastelandNV.Buildings.dds file and then I generated the object LOD's again, which simply erased what I just edited and replaced it with the faltered atlas texture. Then I tried the atlas_out_diffuse0.dds file and generated LOD's to see what would happen ... nothing. So, which file specifically am I supposed to edit here to ensure it carries through the LOD generation process?
  11. Yup, didn't work. I'll try a couple of different things and let you know if they work or not.
  12. Okay. I just figured since generating the LODs did this to begin with, that it would just set me back to square one. I'll go try though.
  13. Alright, I resized the rock texture and put it in the WastelandNV.Buildings.dds file using Gimp. Here's what it looks like now: http://i.gyazo.com/c5ed7730551d89c970332dda823cc1ef.png Now what was I supposed to do next? I restarted New Vegas and my rocks still looked like crumpled up newspaper.
  14. Alright, I've been away from this for a while, but I ran into a bit of a roadblock. I had installed Photoshop CS2 and the NVIDIA plugins you linked me to. Yet I still can't open any DDS files. I did compare the old atlas texture to the new one ... you turned out to be right. The Sandcrete textures HAVE moved things around quite a bit and, as far as I can tell, the specific type of rock I saw all jacked up was the only thing taken off of the atlas texture. Now I'm hoping I can simply resize the rock texture, but I can't even open any DDS files... Any suggestions?
  15. I'll get on that immediately. This might also be worth mentioning, in my Fallout New Vegas directory you can see these three files (which I have mentioned before). http://gyazo.com/e3b3e8e7d30bc02940470c334d009de0.png atlas_out_diffuse0.dds looks like the normal atlas texture that shows on the rocks: http://gyazo.com/d52265f03f9bb0c64b35294cd50e25e6.png And atlas_out_diffuse1.dds looks like this: http://gyazo.com/d412c97b0a26c3ddeef62c139af60788.png Is it a coincidence that the one type of texture that refuses to show properly in-game is separated from the atlas texture? And I checked in-game to see if this was the only rock type missing (should have done this earlier), and, I don't know for sure, but it looks that way. I'm not sure about some other shades of rock but, Red Rock Canyon for example, looked fine. I guess it wouldn't make much sense though considering these look like the higher resolution textures rather than LOD's. Just thought it might have some significance. I used this software to rename all of the DDS files all at once so I wouldn't have to go into each individual folder: http://www.1-4a.com/rename/ (I know it looks sketchy, but hey it worked) Now I'm gonna get back on converting DDS into TGA using photoshop.
  16. Maybe I should convert the DDS into TGA differently. I can't open any of the TGA textures in any of my programs. Before I just used a program that renamed all of the extensions. Maybe I should follow the Bethesda tutorial word for word on that. I don't understand though because the GECK still processed everything and generated the objects.
  17. I deleted all of the LOD data for Wasteland NV in the meshes, textures, textures TGA, and LODsettings folders. I generated the objects in the Wasteland NV worldspace in the GECK, saved, exited out, and copy and pasted the new LOD folders (only generated objects so "blocks" was the only one) from textues TGA into the data textures folder. I loaded up New Vegas and it was exactly the same ... the rocks still look weird. Is there a step I'm missing? Am I blind?
  18. Thanks, I'll give it a shot! Yeah, I looked at both of those pages several times, but for some reason never payed any attention to regenerating LOD data.
  19. After further investigation, I found what I believe to be the "atlas" texture: http://gyazo.com/5106ba2d2737e1bc21ba2e4c878124fa.png Here's the texture on a rock LOD in-game: http://gyazo.com/2c6d4233e849aadfbac00ee76179eaee.png http://gyazo.com/c9d13df9f3b702868806d99e6484c576.png As you can see, the buildings and roads are fine but for some reason the GECK won't generate anything but this texture for the rock LOD meshes. http://gyazo.com/ae110e2d98736f79527fd758ae723b12.png That's the directory it was in. And another thing. When I generated the object LOD's, the LOD's for the rocks I deleted beforehand were still in place. I don't know how to fix that. http://gyazo.com/f4acb73fc512e9be1b733dcd71168db1.png Just found the atlas textures in my main New Vegas directory. Don't really know where they go.
  20. Dude that looks sick, I'm totally gonna download it when you release it.
  21. Well I'm using your sandcrete resource. I'm sorry, I don't really know what you're asking. The buildings I placed are fine. http://gyazo.com/79d5f1001676c675f2796189e954f453.png This might have something to do with it. This is what I copied into the data folder and I only see buildings. I was finally able to put pictures, here's what the rocks look like: http://gyazo.com/c73af6ef44ae8dbe58981c385c1e8657.png You probably already knew where it was, but here's the file path for the meshes I used. I only used the objects that came with New Vegas and your resource. http://gyazo.com/a12086b2074d3eff4131e2a35030f494.png
  22. Okay, I tried again and I fixed something somehow. The buildings and roads and everything , so far, are fixed and their LOD's generate normally (along with the buildings I added), but the rocks are still using that "atlas" texture. Maybe my work is salvageable.
  23. Well I modified an area in the wasteland yes, and you're saying I can't generate LOD's for the wasteland at all? I've seen mods that add to the wasteland, did they just not generate LOD's? I'm not sure I fully understand.
  24. Okay ... here's where I'm at. I unpacked all of the textures and meshes using FOMM. I made a copy of the unpacked textures and converted every .dds into .tga and put those modified textures into the Source folder (I put them in Textures TGA within source) in the steam directory. I copy and pasted the unmodified and unpacked textures into the textures folder in the New Vegas directory. I then put the unpacked meshes into the meshes folder in the New Vegas directory. I generated the object LOD's again in the GECK (it worked).I took the files under my worldspace folder (which happened to be wasteland nv) in landscapes from the source folder and put them into the data folder in the same pathway. I started up Fallout NV and discovered this weird texture error. If my understanding of this is correct, it seems the meshes loaded fine, but something happened with the textures. Upon closer inspection it seems as if multiple textures have been thrown together into a single, universal texture that was applied across every object mesh in the game (only LOD's). Rocks, buildings, etc. Maybe I put something in the wrong folder, I dunno. I just know Google fails to turn anything up beyond simplistic explanations of LOD generation.
