  1. This does seem like a good idea but then part of me has to disagree. Aside from having to try to get through microsft, which mods will be available for consoles? I don't see consoles having a good capability for mods. Take Deadly Reflex, MMM(or other similar mods), or CoH for example. These were all mods that needed OBSE. How could consoles use something like OBSE or even a mod manager like Wrye Bash, OBMM or BOSS? On top of that, CoH and DR make use of keys that are not in use to perform their added actions (shieldbashing/impale(DR), howl/feed CoH). Now I know shield bashing is included in Skyrim but say Oblivion allowed console gamers to use mods. All of the buttons on console controllers are used up by the default actions so how could they use these features? And wouldn't they also only be able to release mods on the market that are stable and compatible with each other? I'm guessing crashes and mod conflicts would not look pretty on console. In the long run it just doesn't seem too smart.
  2. Well I used to use Elli Hawke for my female characters but since DA2 took Hawke from me I'm thinking of another last name. I usually don't like to use names that copy game characters.
  3. Don't see many wood elves.... Female wood elf! Archer of course and will be testing how the new 3rd person camera performs for ranged players : )
  4. Tested what you said my and idea could be possible. You don't have to start a new game for a new character. There's "showracemenu", "showclassmenu" and "showbirthsignmenu" commands to pretty much create the new character. bben46 provided link to a mod that made the corpse looting able to be done. I would suggest No Quest Items mod be used so that the player can loot the amulet of kings and other quest items off the corpse instead of magically obtaining them. As for the NPC i tested it myself and used "player.createfullactorcopy" and made my little NPC. From there I used the "showracemenu" command, changed my looks, race and gender then left the menu. The NPC I created still was there and looked just like my first person. For Markin and his question on where the new adventurer would spawn, I thought you could choose a spawn location such as one of the taverns, fighter's/mage's guild, or one of the docks areas. There could be a chest placed near the location of the spawn point with some gear to get by with. If anything to make a little sense of things leave a letter with the new character stating "the hero of Tamriel has died and now it's up to you." or something like that. You don't HAVE to spawn near your dead body. Say you died in the planes of oblivion, where COULD you spawn? However I must say I liked your idea of different quests to return to normal. It could be based upon the players fame/infamy. The priest/priestess is a good idea but I think a necromancer sounds easier for evil people than finding a certain plane of oblivion. With the ghost player I ask why can't you do a quest that reverts you to normal? The ghost race mod has a potion that turns your current character into an exact ghost look alike instantly so why can't it work in reverse? Unless there's something that goes completely against what the game is hard-coded to do or just plain impossible I'm sure there's ways to make it happen.
  5. I've played with Chewus Oblivion Afterlife and liked the Idea of dying then going Heaven or Hell. It got me thinking of other stuff to do for when the character dies instead of doing a load sequence. How about when you die your character goes through the same stuff but once in Heaven or Hell the player's character then becomes an NPC after leaving the place. Once the player has left, they then create a new character and pick up the story where the other character left off at. So say you die, you then go then heaven or hell. You make the new adventurer and choose to start back at level 1 or start at your last character's level. If you choose to start at the last level you will be given a menu to allocate the attribute and skill points you've collected up to that level so can have a new build if you wanted. If you go to where you died you can find your previous character's body. Take the equipment you want and after say 2 game days the corpse disappears and a grave stone can then be found at an added graveyard. Now say that your new adventurer dies on the field. If you go to heaven and your previous character went to heaven you can find the NPC form of your character wandering about. I loved the heaven/hell aspect of Chewus afterlife mod but it just seemed strange that you can just return to Earth after dying so I found an alternative to go with my mod idea. Say you died but you don't want a new adventurer. When you choose to go back, your character is now a ghost! There would be a quest involving a necromancer, black soulgems, and the soul of another person in order to turn your character back into a living being. This could definitely use some more thought in it but this is kind of the outline of it. I'd love to now what some of you people think about it and throw in some ideas of your own that you think would be good.
  6. I say, LET THERE BE LEFTIES! (left-handed characters) not EVERYONE is right-handed. Allow there to be left-handed players and NPCs
  7. As someone who has played and loved both the Fable series and TES series I've always been curious what a new elder scrolls game would be like if you were able to actually interact, befriend, and possibly romance and later marry an NPC. I've always found that buying a house was just a big waste of money (at least to me). I buy them but never use them cause 1) I love to adventure in the game so I don't spend time in towns unless there was a purpose to be in that town (quests, sell/buy equipment/spells). and 2) I never carry more than I need to and I never have an item that I absolutely need to hold onto so I don't exactly have stuff I need to keep in storage. Now if there were a friendship and romance system with NPCs then I could see having a house. If I had friends in towns I'd see them and the house would be useful to raise a family in and have a child of your own.
  8. Has anyone said they want dismemberment yet? cause i know that's one thing i wished was in vanilla oblivion
  9. @ PounceDeLeon The whole analog thing may by chance (and that's a small small chance), work for the consoles but what about computers? Computer users have no analog sticks. On top of that if you use an analog stick on the consoles to perform the moves then what will you use to look around? default is, stick 1. movement stick 2. look around. your version would be stick 1. movement stick 2. swinging swords/drawing bow string. where does that leave the camera control? Unless they made a new controller to work with it properly it won't work out. I'm not trying to say that your whole idea is terrible, i mean I do like it, it's just that it doesn't seem like it could work out control wise for the game. :/
  10. Take that and throw in some hair physics too! :D Oh and fix the crime system too. It could use a little work :P
  11. Game worked fine before i put in some new mods today. Usually when i add new ones It messes up my load order but i forgot the proper order. I checked the mods I had just put in and I'm not missing anything. I'm assuming it's a load order issue though
  12. Forget DirectX 10. Support DirectX 11! :P
  13. Hadn't played Oblivion for a while and added some new mods today. Now when I try to start a new game the game just crashes with oblivion being unresponsive the message of "oblivion.exe has stopped responding". Here's my load order, it looks like some got mixed around and I don't remember the proper order. I used OBMM to move around load order and use Wrye Bash for the Bash Patch.
  14. I think it would be pretty awesome if they allowed the option to have your character be LEFT HANDED! In all the games I've played your character is always right handed (except the Legend of Zelda games of course). This would be a cool option for players who are actually left handed that would like to play a game with a left handed character. On top of that that adds some more immersion to a RPG because in real life there are left handed people. And maybe the option to have different body types. Little unrealistic that everyone has same body type and no fatty peoples.
