Hopefully LogicDragon releases the source for his solution so we can see it elsewhere.
-
That's the problem - I don't know exactly how it works, but it's part of an SKSE script. Apparently the way he has it working is by scaling down the head (and arm) nodes to almost 0, but then scales them back up just before shadows are rendered, then back down.
-
There is a solution to the headless shadow issue - LogicDragon does it in his enhanced FP camera.
-
Probably not the best place to ask this, but here goes: I just wrapped up a script that takes a _0 mesh and fits it to a _1 mesh (this is useful when you screw up vert / face order or UVs between the two versions and need to match properties again). However, after running, the mesh is temporarily displaced in the viewport (but not according to the actual positional data) until you do something like enter and exit edit mode at which point it returns to normal. Any ideas on what I need to do to force a "refresh" in the viewport?

Recreations probably aren't common because most of the time they aren't necessary where the original exists. In this case, the original mod author has more or less disappeared.
-
The biggest obstacle I see to this mod becoming a reality (at least, digitigrade feet) is that it would require conversions for ALL boots and ALL armor for both Khajiit and Argonians, and since EVERY armor entry would need to be modified, compatibility patches would also be a quite a lot of work. I'm currently working on a plantigrade option.

Anybody?

You can select your mesh and tell blender to recalculate normals outside for a good approximation.
-
Vertex order is different between your two weights on the body mesh. So when you adjust the weight, it interpolates between unpaired vertices. A simple xsort of the vertices on both the _0 and _1 body meshes *should* do the trick.

What is the policy is on recreating assets created by other mod authors from scratch. Thoughts?

Can somebody recommend me a (simple) visual mod?
Didact2401 replied to Krstoserofil's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
If you're using an ENB and not seeing a massive difference in visuals, you are doing it wrong. I highly recommend using Natural Lighting and Atmospherics for ENB and then turning off ambient occlusion and depth of field to improve performance. -
good mod to make all armor look better?
Didact2401 replied to upload420's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
You can see most (I need to update the list) documentation of the problems / fixes I'm making / made here: http://afkmods.iguanadons.net/index.php?/topic/3957-complete-armor-and-clothing-fixes-once-and-for-all/ -
good mod to make all armor look better?
Didact2401 replied to upload420's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Not a texture thing, but I'm currently fixing up the meshes of every torso clothing and armor set in the game (getting rid of clipping / seams / etc.). It's been a long journey, but it's nearing completion. -
Most of those features would work independent of each other - as such, they should probably remain separate.

Create an invisible object which still casts shadows?
Didact2401 replied to Didact2401's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
No one? -
The title is pretty self-explanatory. I've always found jail-time in Skyrim to be a bit of a joke. Murder the entire town? Don't worry, you can sleep it off. However, the alternative of serving out the sentence given the options you normally have in jail is also a less than ideal option. It would be great if there was a bit more of an immersive element (IE, serve your time rather than just sleeping it away) but also perhaps providing activities or a quest structure to make the stay more interesting. I thought it would be an interesting challenge to see what people here could come up with to make this part of the game a bit more fleshed out.

Blondish orange wolf texture, WHICH MOD?
Didact2401 replied to simsrocks808's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Sounds suspiciously like Bellyache's animals and creature pack. -
Adjusting UVs or textures doesn't seem to do anything. Looks like a standard mesh seam, except there's only one vertex there: http://abload.de/img/screenshot61zzql3.png
-
Turns out it was a mesh issue of some kind, still don't understand what exactly, but I'm working on a fix.
-
Not touched by the USKP dawnguard patch.
-
This is just with USKP. Normals look fine, uvs are the same on the female version as they are on the male.

Grimoa, if you are there, can you please respond? I've noticed you've been active recently, and I'd very much like to get in touch with you.
