Weird assymetric werewolf arm/hand issue
BuffGameesh replied to BuffGameesh's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim SE
Well, I found a ... partial solution to my problem. I found this mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/45235?tab=description After the installation I was just checking if those sliders change anything else compared to the racemenu sliders. Turns out a few of them are actually different (the clavicle and spine sliders act different). I finetuned the arms, legs and shoulders to look more... round? As in; the muscle proportions always looked a bit unnatural to me; even in humanoid form. So after tweaking them and switching into a werewolf the arms don't look as messed up as before. It's still not a complete fix; since there is still some (slight) difference, but I can live with this. Plus, I am able to prevent my character's feet from sinking into the ground. When I have a very tall character this tends to happen. The mod I found has a Z index slider which changes the vertical position of your character. Nice bonus =) And yes, eventhough it's not specifically designed for the Special Edition, it works like a charm. -

Yeah even with no body/race/werewolf mods enabled it just gets weird on heavy muscular characters. If you look at the werewolf from the back you can barely even notice the difference, but knowing that it's not right is kinda annoying. And yes, I can keep all the mods. They don't seem to make it any better or wose. That's nice at least. I just don't know what causes it. There is *something* wrong, somehow.... but I have tried everything I could think of at this point. -
Weird assymetric werewolf arm/hand issue

One step ahead this time; haha, but here's what I did: 1) Disabled all character proportion and werewolf mods, including Moonlight Tales 2) Ran LOOT 3) Refreshed FNIS 4) Started new game Default Nord: I made the character and made no changes to the body whatsoever. Gave myself the Beastform transformation spell. I transformed into a werewolf and everything looks fine. I then saved and loaded the game: stil ok. Next, I bumped up all muscle sliders about... 25% Turned into a werewolf and it still looked ok. After this I increased the sliders to around 50% more size/muscle/height (a heavy bodybuilder character) Turned into a werewolf again and boom: uneven arm/hand and possibly feet. Only the right (his left) side seems to be affected. I loaded the savefile that had the 25% increase, changed into werewolf again and there were no issues. So... somehow someway turning up the bodysliders 'too much' messes up the werewolf proportions. The humanoid character is unaffected and is always symmetrical. To be absolutely sure I also made an Orc, Khajiit and Argonian character with the same steps (since those are the races I use the most) On every single one of these, the same issues happened at the same intervals. I'm pretty stumped about this one... -

Hm, reinstalling racemenu didn't help either. Dang. -

I deactivated every single mod that changes anything about body proportions; for all races (to be sure). I don't think I mentioned it yet but my current character is a Khajiit. Not sure if it matters, but there you go. Anyway, after deactivating all mods I reinstalled the Skeleton (without any compatibility fixes), ran LOOT and refreshed FNIS. Came back to the game, transformed into a werewolf aaaaaand still the same issue. I am starting to think that my racemenu might be... corrupted somehow? Not sure. But whenever I load the game I have to move the Waist, Upper body (torso) and all leg and feet sliders back and forth to get the proportions that ... I already had before loading my game. This is getting weird. On a side note, I also ran a save cleaner tool after deactivating all mods. Just to be absolutely sure there were no lingering fragments of anything. But it didn't help in solving the issue. Not that my game is unstable; quite the opposite actually. But I just wanted to be sure, heh. So.... the hunt goes on :/ Right now I'm suspecting racemenu but maybe I'm looking in the wrong direction. -
Weird assymetric werewolf arm/hand issue
BuffGameesh replied to BuffGameesh's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim SE
Well, I actually have several mods that alter the proportions of both humanoid and werewolf. But in the end I only have one skeleton (XP32) I have: SOS (main humanoid changer) Mighty werewolf (bulks up werewolf proportions) Racial body morphs (changes all races to be more diverse; I don't think this affects werewolves though?) Orc extreme (bulks up Orcs significantly) Beast races extreme (a more muscular proportion mod for Argonian and Khajiit) As far as I can tell all my other mods that are character-related are textures and don't affect the skeleton. Question: turning off any of these mods would directly affect the (werewolf) character in my ongoing save file, correct? It's not like something 'lingers' after I deactivate a mod? So can I try and determine the cause of this issue by deactivating all character altering mods and then activate them one by one? -

I'm starting to think there's more going on than just the uneven claws... Or I'm becoming paranoid lol But the legs and possibly shoulders seem off now too...? -

Turning off the Mighty Beasts mod didn't solve my issue. It just made the werewolf, well, less bulky. But the uneven claw issue remains. I shall upload a better picture as well. -

I typo'd the title... good job me, haha it's asymmetric -.-; -
*I posted this in the wrong forum earlier; whoops!* So I'm just copy-pasting here what I put there. Hopefully you guys can help me out! ----------------------------- Hey guys, So, in my game when I play normally my character has the body proportions that I put into racemenu. No problem; everything is symmetrical. But when I change into werewolf the arms and hands look ... way off. See the attached picture for details. Note that I have beefed up my character quite a bit through racemenu (using a Nord). When I use default or close to default settings it doesn't show as much. But the bigger/beefier the werewolf gets the stranger the arms and hands look. Here is my load/install order up until the skeleton that I use. Everything below that does not overwrite that skeleton. I don't think any other mods could interfere with this particular problem, but if needed I can post the rest of my mods too of course. Some additional information that may help determine the issue: 1) I do use FNIS (and a few animation mods); but I have it installed correctly without any issues and the arm fix is applied. 2) I've tried different races but it doesn't seem to be a factor. In each instance the werewolf looks strange after about a 50 or 75% increase above the standard settings in racemenu. 3) Increasing the racemenu stats to a ridiculous max setting makes my character look... like a freak (haha), but the hands and arms are still equally the same while in the non-werewolf form. (I was just making sure it wasn't racemenu that was messing up; looks like it doesn't?) sincerely, Gameesh PS: Apologies for the somewhat dark picture; if needed I can provide a better screenshot.

Hm; since I'm not allowed to attach another picture to the original post for some reason I'll put my load/install order into text here: I've only listed everything above the main skeleton mod I use; everything below that does not overwrite said skeleton. I don't think any other mods could interfere with this particular problem, but if needed I can post the rest of my mods too of course. -

So, as it turns out, enabling unarmored perks through the Way of the Monk mod while NOT wearing specific well... monk gear (clothes) the game seems to CTD at a specific point afterwards. I do not know if it is time related, distanced travelled, amount of dungeons / enemies cleared or what, but I've been testing and consistently getting a CTD after I apply at least one perk. This doesn't happen if you wear clothing specifically designed for this mod; like the clothes of the way or something similar. But wearing clothes for a mage, at least on an argonian, causes CTD's. So unfortunately, my idea of having a mage with some passive buffs (on top of Alteration) doesn't seem to work. I'm ok without, but it is a bit of a bummer.
-
Hm, alright that's good to know. On a side note I haven't gotten any CTD at all today on this new Argonian character. I will try apply some Way of the Monk perks and run around a bit, enter a cave and fight some stuff and see if I get some CTD then. If that's not it then I don't know what caused it...
-
Final update for now: haven't gotten any CTD on this Argonian (previous Nord) character since the last one. One thing that is different from my other Argonian character is that I did not apply any unarmored perks yet (from the Way of the Monk mod). I may try and see if that messes things up. It supposedly works with any clothing items (so not Light or Heavy armor), but mage gear might be an exception...? Couldn't find clarification on this on the WoM mod page. I still don't know where this whole woodcuttinglevelingscript error comes from that is posted a bazillion times in the log though. Anyone know perhaps?
-
Ok here's what I did so far: 1) Started new game as default Nord 2) Completed Helgen section and made it to the standing stones 3) Saved game 4) Exited game and loaded: no CTD 5) Changed race to Argonian: no CTD 6) I have been playing the game for... 35 minutes or so and still no CTD I have no idea why I am not getting CTD (atm), but... maybe it has something to do with completing the Helgen section with a modded character? But I did the same for my Khajiit and Lykaois and there have been no issues on those at all. I will continue to play and if I ever get a CTD again I will post it here. I'm not sure if I should be happy or confused but for now I'll take it.

You uninstalled mods mid playthrough? What mods did you uninstall mid playthrough? When exactly do you get a CTD? You mean literally after your save loads? The mods I installed the most recently though are Way of the Monk, Realistic water and the updated skeleton mods for some creatures (like horker, giants and bears). Those were all installed mid playthrough. I make it a habit to not uninstall mods mid playthrough though. However, I also started a brand new argonian character and I got a CTD just after the little cutscene outside the cave. :/ And it wouldn't let me load that file anymore afterwards. Same log message in papyrus. I've tried switching race but it didn't help. I don't even know if it is Argonian specific. It was only a hunch I had since my other two characters are unaffected... And yes, for any of my Argonian saves the game kicks me out immediately after trying to load the file for a few seconds.

Hello everyone, So, I have 3 characters (a Khajiit, a Lykaios and an Argonian); so three seperate save files. They all use my same modset though. I don't get any CTD on the Khajiit or Lykaios save files, but my Argonian playthrough has started to persistently generate CTD to the point where I cannot even load any save files for that character anymore. I have done: 1) All my masters are clean (they have been clean for quite a while) 2) Run SSEDIT 3) Cleaned Dawnguard esm (twice, to make sure) 4) Ran LOOT (it gives no warnings or errors; and no dirty plugins) 5) Cleaned several save files with Fallrim tools And yet, the problem persists. I shall post the following; starting with the error log that skyrim produces upon loading one of my Argonian save files: Here is my MOD load order; I use Mod Organizer 2: I hope I have provided enough information to get a response. I have been troubleshooting this for... hours and I'm about to give up. My Khajiit and Lykaios are untouched and I am happy I can still play with them, but hopefully I can play as an Argonian as well soon again. Thank you for your time and if there is more info you guys need, just let me know. with regards, Gameesh
