  1. I've been modding Bethesda games for a few years but mostly just stuck to simple mods or editing existing work in Xedit. I've mostly avoided using GECK unless I had no other option. Right now I'm trying to create a mod that edits all masks and was hoping there is an option to filter all armour by equipment type (HeadWear) to save me going through the list one by one but I can't find it nor has searching the Wiki or Forums been of any help. I'm sure if it's possible it's in the Wiki somewhere and I'm just not using the right search terms but if someone could point me in the right direction that would be much appreciated. Thank you.
  2. Try changing it to an ESP flagged as ESL in SSEEdit, that might solve it for you.
  3. I'm not your search engine, do a google or forum search on vortex lost files or vortex deleted my files. I would already think you would know since I seem to recall you like commenting on those posts calling the OPs liars instead of offering help .
  4. Dude, it's a commonly reported issue that some people have. It looses files sometimes when deploying files and you have to reinstall the mod. It usually reports it as external changes even though no external changes have happened although sometimes it doesn't and you don't even know you're missing files until you try to reinstall the mod. Just because you haven't had the issue doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
  5. No, You don't just need to deploy them again, it literally deletes the files from the installed mod and you have to reinstall it from your downloads, redeploying does nothing. Even purging and redeploying doesn't work.
  6. I just accidentally wiped my mods out because vortex detected a bunch of file changes and I thought it was the couple thousand Nemesis animation files I had just deleted so I hit confirm and now I'm spending my evening reinstalling all my mods, lol. Although it was totally my fault for letting Vortex delete my files it sure would be nice if this issue got fixed.
  7. I don't know about that, Vortex does weird stuff all the time like deleting mod files on it's own but I probably did select the wrong profile. I was just frustrated because I knew I was going to have to spend a few days getting my mods sorted out again, haha.
  8. I was deleting some out of date profiles I had and I think I must have accidentally deleted my currently active skyrim profile. I have hundreds of mods and it took me forever to get a stable load order Is there any way to recover a deleted profile or am I just screwed? Thanks
  9. Still getting this issue every time I update or redeploy mods, its not my antivirus as I have my antivirus blocked from all my vortex, steam and mod files now. Selecting "revert" every time seems to be the right call but I would still like to know what's going on here. Has anyone figures this out?
  10. Wow, this turned out to be way more complicated than I thought it would be, no wonder I couldn't figure it out .
  11. I'm not actually looking to hide the activate button completely. Just a message saying "you can't do this in power armor" like when you're trying to craft or use some terminals in power armor would be perfect. I honestly thought it would be a really easy thing to set up which is why I was surprised no one had already made a mod that does this. I'm quickly starting to learn that with modding just because something seems like it would be really simple to set up doesn't mean it is, lol.
  12. Thanks this was a big help pretty much exactly what I needed to give me somewhere to start. Using existing mods and tweaking them for my own use has been how I've been learning. I couldn't find anything that looked similar to what I was looking for which surprised me because it seems like a pretty simple idea that someone would have already come up with.
  13. Thank you, from your comments I think I might have been close when I gave up on trying to figure it out on my own. I think this idea might be slightly beyond my skill level at the moment. Like I understand the basics of what you're talking about but I don't quite get how to do it yet. I really need to check out some more tutorials but am the type of person who always seems to wind up learning s#*! the hard way as I go. These ideas should give me a place to start when I'm feeling like tackling it again but if you have any recommendations on a tutorial covering the general subject of what I would need to do I would greatly appreciate it. I live off grid and my online time is somewhat limited so going through the whole list isn't really practical for me right now. Thanks.
  14. Hey all, I've been playing modded Bethesda since Morrowind but have only recently started playing around with Xedit making my own patches and simple mod tweaks. I was hoping someone could give me some tips or point me towards a tutorial that would show me how to add equipment conditions to an action. There are so many tutorials out there and I don't know where to start. I want to make a mod that restricts you from picking locks or hacking in power armor to add a little danger to a survival mode play(having to get out of your PA or direct your companion to hack/lockpick for you), maybe eventually adding some hacking and lockpicking PA mods to the workbench once I figure things out a little better. Thanks
  15. Thanks, I haven't been on the forums in a couple weeks but CROSS Crit Gore-verhaul is the one. It's pretty amazing. I especially love how the skeletons are still wearing their gear when they burn up. Picking up perfect armour out of a pile of ash always felt weird to me.
