  1. I've played skyrim for over 600 hours on high graphics but fancied a break a few weeks ago and have been playing HoI3. I came back a couple of nights ago and it crashed on start-up. I quickly ascertained it was a graphics issue so I set the graphics options to low and it started but was unsatisfactory visually. The auto graphics button sets it to high and my 3dmark score is a not very impressive P2540 - which should support high resolution. I've cleaned the registry, defraged the hd and boosted the virtual memory. I read somewhere that an amd driver update was causing problems and bought a better nvidia graphics card and whilst I was at it updated all the drivers. I've uninstalled my game and reinstalled (jeez - doesn't steam take ages!!!) it all to basic vanilla. I can now get most of the settings to medium with some ok distance visuals, I've even got 4*antialiasing, but it still crashes as soon as I put anything to "High". Whilst the visuals are better they are not good. Anyone got any ideas what is causing this or has a solution. Thanks JZ
  2. Hi, my Skyrim has started crashing as well, as have many other peoples by the sound of it. I think it's something to do with a steam undate although some people are blaming an amd driver update. It's probably got nothing to do with one mod. Sorry I can't answer your query as I can't sort my problem out either. You could do me one favour, try resetting your graphics options to low and see if it starts up. Mine does but when you've played skyrim in high you reaaly get little enjoyment of playing it in low. 3. I've tried "bcdedit /set increaseuserva 2500" but it just says "the boot configuration data store could not be opened Access is denied" and yes I did do it as administrator! Thanks for an answer Johnzero
