I've played skyrim for over 600 hours on high graphics but fancied a break a few weeks ago and have been playing HoI3. I came back a couple of nights ago and it crashed on start-up. I quickly ascertained it was a graphics issue so I set the graphics options to low and it started but was unsatisfactory visually. The auto graphics button sets it to high and my 3dmark score is a not very impressive P2540 - which should support high resolution. I've cleaned the registry, defraged the hd and boosted the virtual memory. I read somewhere that an amd driver update was causing problems and bought a better nvidia graphics card and whilst I was at it updated all the drivers. I've uninstalled my game and reinstalled (jeez - doesn't steam take ages!!!) it all to basic vanilla. I can now get most of the settings to medium with some ok distance visuals, I've even got 4*antialiasing, but it still crashes as soon as I put anything to "High". Whilst the visuals are better they are not good. Anyone got any ideas what is causing this or has a solution. Thanks JZ
