Some mods suggest a new game before using them I've noticed. I'm about to start a new save, what mods do you recommend to add that require(or advise) a new save?

Starting a new game, should I download the unofficial patch? Kind of skeptical for some reason... What are the downsides to downloading the patch?

Whiterun is really the easy choice. You have to spend a good chunk of time there and it has everything you need. A lot of cool quests here and there also along with the Companions, 2 forges a player home, alchemy shop, etc. A lot of mods also set up stuff in Whiterun

Not that I know of although I did manually install a mod for the first time since it was a mod that couldn't be installed with the manager Edit: Skyrim itself is running just fine -
Whenever I go to uninstall a mod, I get an error message asking me if I want to open up my TraceLogs. This isn't specified to one mod, this happens with all mods I try to uninstall and then it tells me that Nexus Mod Manager has stopped working. Any help?
