How about kills extend invisibility duration up to three times or something? Or, if you're crouched and standing still optical camo energy is drained more slowly.

Since I'm with them since Morrowind - 14 years by now - I'm sure, this will never change. Their games are fun, but not something to remember. If it wasn't for the excellent modding community, I doubt I would bother at all. As i said, no disappointment here, since I knew what to expect They don't have to change. They don't even try and still make millions. Which is a shame. With the amount of cash they profit with each title they could afford better writers, quest designers. I wish they would leave fallout to people that understand the franchise. Obsidian did a great job with new vegas. NV didn't feel like a rehash. I'm having fun with fallout 4. I've been playing it for over 300 hours. But that's thanks to mods. And i always have this bitter feeling about all the wasted potential. Mods can only do so much to fix the game. -

I've known bethesda since oblivion. And i know what to expect from them. Fallout 4 is a mediocre rpg and a good open world fps. The shooting mechanics are solid. Bethesda's games are usually shallow, the writing and quests are s#*!. And i doubt this will ever change. There's some potential that can only be unlocked by mods. -
What i like to do is create a new game with alternate start, set a level cap. Use alternate start settings to give me level 30 or use console commands to a set level. Sometimes 50. Choose SPECIAL and perks based on chosen backstory. I'm not sure which level is ideal. I want to be able to be effective in combat but i want to be forced to make choices. To specialize instead of being good at everything. That's what's lacking in vanilla FO4. I like that without being the god of weapon crafting it's actually exciting to loot corpses and find that perfect roll.

No, you don't. Mods that alter world space or add scripts can linger in your save. It's not inside the folder. It's in your save. But depends on what mods we're talking about. Mods that heavily rely on scripts can break your game. Stuff like do it yourshelf, eyebot companion, better power armor can cause problems if not uninstalled correctly. As a rule of thumb always save in several slots. Always save before trying something new. -
I'm not sure which mod this issue is related to. I have "place everywhere" and i had moved the workbench around. Last time i saw it, it was inside a shack along with my chems lab. Previously i had 3 sets of power armor vanish in my garage at the top of red rocket. I shrugged off and bat filed my PAs out of thin air. But i can't do the same with the workbench. Or can i ? I could just reload an earlier save but i don't want to lose hours of progress. It's no big deal actually since i can store junk in any of the other benches and i just need to hold PoV to open the workshop menu. I tried player.placeatme <ID> enable <ID>

I'm about to start a new playthrough and i want to test some rebalance mods. Do you guys recommend any? Mods that are still being supported preferably. I was using better power armor and weapon balance overhaul previously. I'll be using alternate start and war of the commonwealth.

This what i believe will happen: Next elder scroll or fallout will be a frame work where modders are supposed to build upon. You have the basics. World, factions, some quests. All modules (AI, weather, weapon, damage, visual effects, etc) can be freely tweaked. Alternate start is incorporated to base game with a few options. Modders can easily create more. Subscription model. You pay, you download as many mods as you want. You don't pay you have limited mod installations. Something like spotify but with mods. And then modders will get their cut based on endorsements. The more people (subscribers) download and endorse your mod the more you earn based on the total number of subscribers. More people subscribing means more money to modders. This will be an incentive to keep mods supported. Instead of DLCs we will have mod packs that add assets and mod tools. PR will talk about joint development between community and devs. A game made for and by the players. I believe paid mods will come. There's a lot of money to be made here. What i just wrote, i honestly don't think it's bad. Bethesda obviously can't make good RPGs. So, build the basics and leave the rest up to the community. We can build the game the way we want. Modders get rewarded. Todd Howards gets richer. Edit: for this to work they would force their platform on us. No more nexus.

Like a better outcome to the quest from Bunker Hill where you just summarily execute the antagonists? And why is there nothing actually intriguing in the Glowing Sea. There are a few quests that drive you into the area, but there is no real reason to explore once you are there. Just a couple collapsed buildings and a cave or two. The potential in this area is untapped. I was expeting a full glowing sea DLC. Silly me. Shhhh.... I'm working on it. I just do not know Bo about modding so am struggling. It may take me a while. Hey, i'm also working on a glowing sea overhaul. I'm at the "having ideas" stage. Then i need to learn how to use the creation kit. lol -

It seems to me that you have a faulty HDD. Or is it an SSD? I'm not tech savvy or anything so don't quote me on this. But i believe ba2 are easier to read. I remember having the invisible gun glitch or weapons sometimes would take several seconds to switch. Once i moved the game to an SSD all problems were gone.

Contraptions Workshop Nonexistant in my game?

Homemaker and similar mods add stuff to the workshop menu. It may be a conflict. If i were you i'd try uninstalling these mods and try again. Under decorations there's a menu called display iirc. There are mannequins and weapons display. -

If you have anything that alters the workshop menu then go check if you have the version compatible with the latest patch. Or uninstall everything workshop related and see if the contraptions stuff is there. If you downloaded the DLC it will be there. -
I'm not sure but i have the suspicion that raider overhaul was causing stuttering in my game. I tried using that mod twice. Twice i had stuttering. While without it it's smooth. Maybe it was a leveled list conflict i was overlooking. I really don't know. You have way too many mods. Issues are bound to occur. Use LOOT and fo4edit to try and fix issues with load order and mod conflicts. But ultimately ask yourself: do you really need all those mods? I had 158 mods installed and my game was very unstable. Now i'm down to 90+ and all is well.

Goddamn, you're right. I didn't think about it. Going through your inventory to select it would break the pacing. Maybe a window could pop up while the world is paused (or not), you select the wanted FC and the animation plays. I'd love to have more variety.

Only recently i started using companions. I even had ideas for companion mods. But holy christ. Their AI is awful. It's frustrating. They are useless. And in survival mode they are a burden more than anything. I don't remember companions being this useless in new vegas. I have fond memories of cass, boone, veronica. And was it a mod or did new vegas had a companion wheel. I remember being able to change their tactics.
