  1. Both are very nice replacers, but I prefer UNP mostly because all the vanilla armors/clothing has been converted to UNP (or UNPB) format.
  2. I didn't believe Saadia, mostly because she had no reason to remain in Skyrim when Hammerfell would have been a much safer place (as a noble who spoken out against the successfully repelled/defeated invaders). It seemed more likely that she was running away from retribution in Hammerfell by the Redguards.
  3. I'm just a tad concerned that, in the later portions of the game, the increased ugrid will cause more problems with spawning/scripts. Obviously, if it's just a "Helgen" specific issue, than it's not a very serious problem.
  4. I guess, with the increased ugrid, the game loads characters / initiate scripts before they're supposed to be initiated. It's causing the gate to be shut too early, the thalmor on the horse to go flying off into the air (I think this is caused by collision error w/ the horse being spawned too early on top of a building), etc etc. I really do want to increase the ugrid to 7 as it's so much prettier, but I'm worried about it breaking the scripting in the game. Any thoughts? Just play through Helgen with ugrid 5, and change it to 7 after leaving the cave at the end of Unbound quest?
  5. I don't think it has to be rape, or sex has to be involved at all (consensual or otherwise). From the description given, it sounds like the creation of "pure-blooded" vampires is more akin to STD (AIDS, hepatitis, etc) that could spread though body fluid (such as those involved in sex or blood). Or perhaps the blood is the key, and the sex part is just there for the hell of it. IIRC, the first "pure-blooded" vampire was created not because of the sexual act itself but because Molag Bal splattered some of his blood on the victim after the act (whether on purpose or accidental, I can't say).
  6. Is it? I'm trying to clean out my Skyrim folder using the same guide, and I, too, am missing the reslist folder. When verifying with Steam, it doesn't re-download that folder. The game started fine without it, so I'm a bit curious what it was for.
  7. I kind of gave up on ESO's consistency when I saw the cinematic trailer. Excellent trailer, to be sure, but they basically put a pair of rubber ears on an actress and decided to call it a day for the Altmers (and I was kind of peeved with the Breton, but that's another story). If that was a sign of things to come... Still, we can't really single out ESO for this. Other MMOs have stepped back from taking a more daring approach with elves. For example, the elves in FF MMOs were originally supposed to look like the long necked aliens (in charge of the cloning factory) from StarWars 2. I think the most daring approach any MMO has taken with elves was by WoW, choosing to stick with purple. And that's pretty sad on several levels. Oh, as for "mers are ugly" shtick.... I still haven't gotten over how ugly they made them, especially the male dunmer and bosmer. Also, I have more than a few words to say about how out-of-proportion the orcs looked because they had a huge head for a standard body size.
  8. After reaching the first major city, Whiterun, I felt pretty good about myself. Finally, I was behind the walls and safe from danger. So decided that I no longer needed to wear the heavy smelly armor. I didn't need to hid my sexy untamed hair. I chose to go native. This was Skyrim, the land of TES vikings and barbarians. I'm supposed to go half naked in loin cloth! Strutting down the street, I felt invincible. With the muscular male modding, I was built like a tank, and I knew that women were checking me out. Then a guard came up to me and told me that I should probably put on some cloth. That's when I realized I was the only guy naked in middle of the city. I wasn't Grognak. I was that guy on eleven o'clock news. What have I done?
  9. Let's face it... Mr.H wasn't the one for deep thoughts beyond his obsession with the prophecy. Even if the vampires could rule the world in darkness... what would they rule over? Without the sun, crops will die. Without crops (and other plants), people will die of starvation (along with everything else). Without people, there will be nothing for vampires to eat. Obviously, vampires knew the importance of making sure that mortals survived. They had (in Morrowind and Dawnguard) mortal "cattles", after all. Any sane vampire would think twice about wiping away their food source.
  10. I'm not sure if it's fair to say that the Imperials are "racist' at this time (4th Age). Imperialism (in our own world) largely consisted of the assumption of cultural superiority over others. This manifested in various ways. European colonists enslaved and killed aboriginals (yes, even the "benevolent" British Empire. Not so benevolent to the colored people). Soviet Union and the American empire used gunboat diplomacy to gain economic benefits around the world. China is currently in the process of trying to enlargen their sphere via military incursions. And these were/are largely justified by "we're superior to others". By the 4th Age in Skyrim, the Empire is essentially broken. The Empire is gone. They've lost their cultural identity. They've lost the ancient Imperial bloodline, they've denied the divinity of their founder (which formed one of the core belief of the Empire), they're allowing agents of foreign government to enforce religious restrictions against one of their most ancient heritage, they've lost the common bonds of unity between different provinces, etc etc. Imperials really have nothing left to say "we're Imperials!" other than name tags on their uniform. Also, I'm not sure if it's fair to say Ulfric is "racist" anymore than an average governemnt leader of a developed world (in our world). When there is a large influx of a refugee population (which tends to be poor, relatively uneducated, and without common root / customs), they tend to become beds for crime and social problems, not to mention the economic strain of having to deal with caring for the refugees. That's an headache for any government official. Now, his followers are certainly racist. But Ulfric himself? I'm not sure just how much of his "racism" arises from administrative needs (and the needs to gain the loyalty of his followers) and how much from his actual belief.
  11. Not really. British Empire's move to end the slave trade was to limit French Empire's access to cheap labor force after British Empire no longer had the need to import such in form of slaves.
  12. With every Prince and other powerful beings having a claim to his soul, Dovakiin gets to say the line that every girl wants to use at least once in her life: "Boys, boys... don't fight over little ol' me"
