you joke but in retrospect, that'd explain an awful lot ._. i agree it seems like a lot of effort for what someone could do with just console commands or a dialogue spam, but it's not really about just the perk, i think i just wanted more from the companion system, shallow though the "story" one might get out of it would probably be(fetch quests, much story) ah, last thought, i did mention it's for a certain though i guess pretty niche playstyle. the playstyle where one likes to actually interact with NPCs in a story/social/rp way, but doesn't want to actually walk the wastes with 'em. y'know, like a loner or a rogue type. i think when i said "us" i was referring to the player archetype, but i honestly can't be sure, i was drunk out of my gourd when i wrote this whole thing .-. after reading what i wrote i think it'd still be a neat mod but definitely a lot of work. lacking this kind of mod, i've just been using console commands which kills the vibe of the game for me

so to start, i'munna rant about the companion system, but at the end is my request. the in-between is just the why of it all. hoping a modder can come to my rescue here, and thanks in advance for even taking the time to read at least the tl;dr! >.<' So I've always hated the companion system in FO4. Pros: tons of storage space extra guns (read: strength in numbers) companion cooperation (free snacks from piper, medical supplies from curie, chems from hancock, etc.) and for some, it's less lonely to wander with the companion-lone survivor banter affinity perks Cons: even the stealthiest of companions are easily detected (i can't even count how many mods resolve this) they demand to use their own guns (so many mods, man, i can't even choose one) they just bloat my inventory with worthless loot (thanks for the gum, piper ._.) insanely loud, unimmersive-for-stealth banter (and typically annoying. thanks again modders, i honestly don't know what i'd do without the modding community) grinding for affinity perks (i wanna do the work, without the companion or cheap gimmicks) i don't know how to mod, but i used to like to write stories and stuff. i'm the furthest thing from an amateur writer and i know even less about modding, to call me a novice in either would be an understatement ._. that said, even i can come up with about a dozen rudimentary stories each companion could believably fit in a cheap optional questline for affinity EXP. i was hoping we could get an affinity system questline for each companion. example: you find piper you send her off to sanctuary now you have to generate affinity to get her dialogue options and quests and ultimately her affinity perk -insert the mod here she sends you off to collect bubblegum she sends you off to deal with(kill, intimidate, buy off) some raiders that were harassing her and/or her sister -affinity tier level up she sends you off to deal with the same raiders (same options, but new dialogue plus a threat to or from the raiders depending on your approach) you have to deal with a boss raider and a raider dungeon (only need to create an NPC and change his behavior, the rest of the dungeon can be untouched hostiles) --the raider boss talks to the player and demands an enormous sum to pay off the raiders(if the player chose to pay off the raiders last time) --the raider boss tells the player to consider his position and hides in the base (leaving the player to deal with the dungeon then confront the boss in a dialogue wherein at this point you kill him or intimidate him) --you say to hell with the words and assassinate the raider boss from a distance with a rifle then get an optional objective marker to clear out the dungeon for a quest clear bonus(say a ton of bubblegum, double reward exp/affinity, free loot such as guns, grenades or ammo, go nuts) bla bla bla you get the idea, do brainless fetch/kill/clear quests to upgrade companion affinity without actually having a companion along for the ride. maybe bringing the companion along could be a bonus reward. tl;dr: i love companions, i love companion affinity, i love companion perks, and when i'm not trying to dismantle an entire raider base without being detected, i love the uh... haha companionship companions offer, in the way of banter and backstory. is it possible that someone could make companion affinity quests for us? the idea being that you can send your companions to a settlement, they'll ask for you to do things (kill quests, dungeon clear quests, fetch quests, whatever) that increase affinity by say 5%, 15%, 25%, 50% or 100% of an affinity tier per quest clear so we can increase affinity without ever bringing them along for the ride. bonus points if we can also bring the companion along for the ride for an affinity bonus (for example 2x affinity exp reward for bringing them)

I've seen a good few pump action shotguns, but they all have their flaws thanks to weird stuff i know little to nothing about. the features i like in a pump action shotgun would be, interruptible reloads, so you can defend yourself if you're caught with your pants down, proper length reloads, so you only load the needed shells at a time, face blasting, all shotguns i've seen on the nexus do this quite well, no complaints there. some of these better mods are https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/20797/ stocks, barrels, chokes, animations synched with remaining shells, it has it all as far as i can see save for an interruptible reload animation. https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/22516 stocks, barrels, chokes, it has some pretty meaty stuff there, but it's missing even the wonky scripts for a reload so it has the same problem as the vanilla lever action hunting rifle. I'm just reposting this pump action request since all the requests i found using the site's forum search function turned up only old and dead posts, plus i have one thought that might be of use to someone if it wasn't brought up before. the laser musket has a reload method that lets you charge a single shot using more than a single cell, isn't there a way we can use that system to reload shells, but instead of firing them all at once, it fires only a single shell at a time? the laser musket even has animations for the full/partial loads that includes charging, then letting go of the handle if i remember correctly. i guess only 2 animations and one's a looping animation, but i hope it's possible someone can splice up a pump shotty + reload system with this apologies if this has all been explored before

every single time i check up on this mod it's been updated, and my excitement grows more and more. i'm far more excited for the full release of this perk chart, even lacking NSFW options, than i was for FO4 itself. can't wait for the full release, i love what you're doing.- 1047 replies

Vault Girl Mod Development Thread

I've only played for maybe 15 minutes. I love this mod. Works as advertised and I have so much respect for the author of this mod. I must admit I'm curious if there's even a ballpark ETA for the SPECIAL tree replacers?- 1047 replies

Chalk it up to a weeb, but i really want the 1897 in-game with ammo variant options. If anyone's ever seen Desert Punk, they'll know what i'm looking for. a solid, simple shotgun that shoots a lot of different types of stuff at the bad guys. it's also gotta be that shotgun 'cause Desert Punk, or i'd have just dealt with all the ammo mods out there.

Did a quick search for "Local Leader quest" and got nothin', So the only real mod idea I've got, now that the CK is sort of out almost kinda... I heard people are setting up quests and the like for stuff now. Set up a small, easy questline, or even just add a reward in the form of a magazine for the Sanctuary quests where you help out Sturges(literally the worst mechanic I've ever met), wherein the reward is ultimately Local Leader 1 and 2. Hell, go a step further, rework Local Leader itself and make old Local Leader a new perk for settlement management.

Adamwall13's "fix" worked for me, aswell. I guess I'm about a year late to say that, though.
