  1. They look like drawings to me, those supposed pictures. And why are they not giving away more info or the location? If they really found it there and people check it out and prove it, they're still the "original" discoverers of the city itself...
  2. I'm pretty good at maintaining myself in general (I'd never plan on killing someone or robbing), but I am known in my life to have a pretty short temper. Were there no laws, I'd be getting into aggressive arguements all the time. However, I'd never try and actually want to kill another person if that happened.

For sure though, I was more short-tempered when I was much younger.

  3. Call of Duty is supposed to be simulating realistic combat in a real war.

Perfect Dark is pure fantasy - it takes place in the future, the weapons are high tech, and therefore the violence is not supported by reality.

Of course, I would disagree with that logic. I'm only stating what I think the ESRB uses to rate games.

I find it offensive that a game about real war is somehow okay for younger people. If I had kids, I wouldn't let them play "real war" games. Oblivion, Perfect Dark, Doom, those are fantasy.

Oh, and Oblivion is not rated M for Mature because you can mod it to be gorier. It was actually rated M because a hanging corpse in the Imperial Sewer vampire den was not shown clearly enough to the ratings board in the demo. When they saw a closer shot of it, they changed it to M.

In other words, it's the Zombies that make Oblivion M for Mature. Vanilla Oblivion is not gory at all, except for that.

You forgot the topless females mesh included in the BSA file of vanilla Oblivion (though I think they removed it in later releases of the game).

And going on with what you said, you could argue something like the events of CoD3 are true to a certain extent, but certain things are altered from the reality some. I wouldn't be surprised if a good deal of the characters (probably not all), are fictional.

Whereas, you could argue things like the events in Perfect Dark Zero are possible outcomes of progressing events of today's society. Things that could happen if our current world status doesn't change.

Ah, by the way, why does the ESRB not even bother generally to play the game, but rather base their ratings on a movie they are sent by the gaming company only? I smell something fishy going on here...

I don't see how they'd not gain money by playing it and then rating it afterwards based on their experience...

The rtards dont pay people to play the games saving $$$ alot of games come out every year and i would love to test games for a living but you cant so :wallbash:

If they volunteer there time to do something like rate games (if they aren't paid that is), then they ought to be doing their job fully. They shouldn't do it if they don't wish to do it thoroughly.

  6. Call of Duty 3: Rated T for teen by the ESRB for the following:

    Blood

    Language

    Violence

Perfect Dark Zero: Rated M for Mature by the ESRB for the following:

    Blood

    Language

    Violence

    How does this happen?

  7. I hate a lot of Oblivion NPC's

    /startrant

1: Adoring Fan - Well, why not?

2: All breton males - They sound (IMO) stalkish and nasal.

3: Martin - Most boring person in the entire game. Has no self-esteem at all and is too easy to kill.

4: Head of the Cheydinhal Fighters Guild (forgot the name, but he's an Orc) - Utter jerk and professional douchebag.

    5: Mraaj-dar - Same reason as #4.

    6: Alessia Caro - Racist.

7: Umbacano - Gets you in so much trouble, and underpays you for it all.

8: All high elves - Think they're so high and mighty till a single sword slash or well-placed destruction spell kills them.

9: Ysabel Andronicus - Also same reason as 4 and 5.

10: Arvena Thelas - Is too stupid to notice the hole in the wall of her basement.

    11: Ulrich Leland - Same reason as 4, 5, and 9.

    12: Audens Avidius -  ^This^

13: Mannimarco - Again, thinks he's so high and mighty but is really weak in actuality.

14: Glarthir - Sends you on the most pointless quest.

    15: All hackdirt residents - 4, 5, 9, 11, 12. What did you expect? :P

    16: Imperial Legionnaires - Filled with 4's, 5's, 9's, 11's, 12's, and 15's.

17: Dorian - Annoying as heck

    18: Falcar - Annoying himself

19: Whatsherface Breton lady in Whodunnit? - #1

    20: Kalthar - ^4, 5, 9, 11, 12, 15, 16^

21: Dion - Stalks you if you talk about Galthir, but doesn't do the same to others if them mention him.

22: Stalkish merchants. Shoot, Oblivion stalkers as a whole

    /endrant

I'm sure there are others, but those are all I remember at the moment.

  8. Never played fable, and Vagrant's post of how your character morphs unrealistically as you change disposition is a major turn-off for me ever buying this sort of game. I like my characters with fixed appearances, nothing else.
  9. Worst game(s) ever...

    runescape

    F.E.A.R 1&2 (Scary? Yeah right....)

Hey, I liked FEAR 1 and the gameplay! May not have been that scary really, but I liked it still. However, it's a different story with the second game though, and seems I'm not the only one - it's only been out in stores for 6 months, and it already only costs 20 dollars, down from 50 back this summer.

  10. Parents must be so proud.

Sure they are, he doing his bit to stop overpopulation.

Just because he marries a real woman (had that happened) doesn't mean they'll have kids.

About the article though, now I'm glad I'm not any weirder than I am right now. The guy probably needed love though and didn't find it in any person in real-life, so he got desperate and went to the last resort, which was a virtual woman.

  11. Hi.

I've been playing Fallout 3 for a long time and was thinking about getting some new mods.

And for that i needed to install FOSE and other stuff.

After i did that i launched the FOSE launcher to play my new mods, but when i puched the load button my save file was gone.

And i wonder if i can get it back or if i have to start all from the start?

Check your Fallout 3 folder to make sure the saves are still there (just in case).

Directory (on XP at least): My computer - Documents - My games - Fallout 3 - Saves.

If you don't find any files in that folder, then your saves are probably gone.

  12. Star Wars: DroidWorks

    *hides head in shame*

Really though, you just reminded me that in all honesty, there's no reason to really be ashamed about hiding a game. I'm trying to do this hiding business quite less now than I used to in the past. It's just like a passion: if you love something a lot, you shouldn't be ashamed to hide it from either yourself or others.

Of course, that's coming from a guy who never plays GTA...

  13. Well if the ESRB had to re-rate Oblivion more than once because they were too careless to find something in the CD the first time, then obviously they are pretty messed-up.
  14. Strangely enough, Fallout 3 and Oblivion were two games that I hid for several months from the rest of my friends (they aren't RPG fans). Tomb Raider Underworld was another such game for some time...
  15. Though the two things that still make me wonder about that woman is why did she let her house get so damaged as to have a huge hole in the wall through which anything practically could get through, and how did the mountain lions get into the city itself without being noticed by someone who alerts the guards...?

I have an answer for both those questions: Catapults! :P

Also, Thelas must have gone through a major change when she moved to Cyrodyll - she hated rats in Morrowind. Maybe it was just the Ash Storms. Those tend to make people grumpy...

I never played Morrowind (never wanted to work on my computer for whatever reason :( ), but I think she's still moody enough... Not to mention crazy... over rats...

  16. Hey check out my new firefox! I gotta say, I actually am starting to like this. Thanks for the advice!

EDIT: Oh yes, post number 800.

Hm... Now you have me wanting Nexus to have another theme option... Something new...

Wonder how likely that is, though... :whistling:

  17. I recently bought Left 4 Dead 1, and wanted to add the models of that game into Garrys Mod (I have version 9), but the files (which ought to show up automatically in the gmod list) aren't there. How can I get the files from Left 4 Dead to G-mod?
  18. Bungee seems to be the only company I see that seems to get hassled for making a new game. o_O

I like their games myself, so you aren't alone. They're not the best games ever made (Oblivion and AoE FTW!!) but still good enough for me to enjoy them every so often.
