I'm trying to change the equipment for some of the NPC lords in the game but I've reached a stumbling block trying to figure out how their equipment sets are assigned. Just as an example, I would like to have Derthert wearing the 'red tabard over mail' and 'wolf shoulders'. I can see in the sandbox module folder, lords.xml, that has an entry for Derthert (line 5129) and it states his equipment set is 'vla_bat_template_medium'. I can then see in the sandboxcore module folder, sandboxcore_equipment_sets.xml, with an entry on line 7553 for 'vla_bat_template_medium'. Easy enough so far. This is where I get lost. I can see under that entry there are a number of different equipment sets, with different loadouts but I can't work out what determines which one Derthert would use. Can anyone tell me what determines what equipment set gets assigned to the npc? I though perhaps it may be random but Ol' Derthert and Co. always wear the same equipment when starting a new campaign.
