I have msi geforce gtx 980 ti. Pretty sweet. No issues when playing in winter.
On hot weather, it has freezing/CTD issues when playing at 1440p and 4k, but No issues at 1080p.
I fixed those issues by adding more fans. :p

Check out pcpartpicker website https://pcpartpicker.com/ it is good way to start building your gaming rig. They have options like Choosing PC hardware, brand, cost, and compatibility.

New PC = more free ram and less background programs running
Old PC = possible more background programs running and less free ram. In other words, the older it is, slower it can get.
If you can, remove some mods (those certain mods can reduce FPS). Less mods = maybe more FPS.

Maybe too much mods concentrated in Whiterun. Removing offending mods will probably make CTD go away.

Purple textures means missing/misplaced texture files.
Invisible parts means missing/misplaced meshes files ;or wrong body slot configured / nothing was written in esp

I think 2 graphics cards do not add more vram. You just have 4GB vram... or 3.5 maybe.
Anyway, here are some suggestions. Hopefully you will find true solutions to your problems.
-Black textures mean that there is not enough memory to run the game. Try clearing memory cache via console command.
-Purple textures mean that there are meshes with missing/misplaced textures. Try installing that offending mod‘s textures properly.
-too much mods. Can you remove some mods? Eventually, if you removed enough mods, CTDs will go away.

Lets blame some bethesda staff whoever decided to support console mods. They are the one who primary cause this mess.

You can try using UFO, EFF, or AFT mod. They allow you to have more than one follower.
