Yes, damnit, because I am using this thread, which is called "This is the site feedback". Admins post here, so it should be good enough, no?
Sent a PM then.

I know they are. But try to understand me/us. The site seems to have been drowning in technical problems since forever, no matter how much you upgrade stuff and invent new features. It's frustrating as hell. I just want to use the site.
And from our previous communication, you should know better I am not just moaning, I try to help if I can as well.
And no, I don't know the drill. You specifically say in your profile people shouldn't contact you that way.

I don't have premium, so I can't even set any settings that could possibly affect this, like the amount of posts or whatever showing on the front page.
The most important thing is that it worked well enough until a week or two ago. I didn't have any problems (not saying the site was lightning fast, but it was acceptable) before for a long time. I didn't change any important settings for a long time either, and suddenly the loading times increased 10 to 20 times. I think it's logical to assume it's not a problem on my end.
I had this happen before, btw. It's been some time, and I had Dark0ne log in to my account a few times to investigate. A bit later some change was apparently made which unfortunately cut the (already uselessly small) amount of posts showing on the front page in rather significant way.
Btw, while changing some settings for the front page MIGHT help/fix it, I don't understand why should I do it (not saying I wouldn't) when it's something I am supposed to have a freedom to use the way I like. The way I see it, it's clearly a bug with the site, even if it's affecting a minority of users (sadly, 99% of people having problems never report them).
-
I tried in different browser and it was just as slow. BUT then I logged out, and suddenly the page loads in less than half a second. I'm not sure if that can help troubleshooting it, but that's about all I can say about the whole problem.
-
For at least a week or possibly a bit longer, the Skyrim site is horribly slow again.
Page Served in: 22.09s
I am sorry, this is simply unacceptable. Is this the superbly upgraded technical stuff you spent hundreds of thousands on?
-
It's caused by the Animations mod, specifically by one of its features, but there's a setting to it which you can change to something more safe, so you don't need to uninstall it. It's something about activating objects. I tried it and it worked. Give it a try before you uninstall the mod, it would be a shame to get rid of it.
-
The only other thing that annoys me is that notifications on the site will alert when a new file is uploaded, even if it is not yet available because of the scan.
The notifications don't even work. That feature has been bugged to hell for like two months and noone seems to bother to fix it.
-
If you open someone's profile and click on "posts", you get different results than if you clicked "find content" and then "only posts".
Please do something about the forum, there are numerous bugs or functional oddities about it that makes it absolute pain in the ass to use.

Where do you say anything about using autosave manager in your original post?Nowhere. My answer came from my own experience with, what i thought was, the same/similar problem and you felt the need to act like a prick. You're an example of the typical users i get on my blog, they start off by saying,"The mod doesn't work."then you spend an hour trying to DRAG the rest of the story out of them just to learn they didn't read the friken instructions in the first place.
So good luck on your little problem i don't have the patience for people like you.
Your answer was useless. There's no reason for the ini files would be read-only, ever.
Go flame somewhere else if you can't contribute jack to the discussion.
Funny you had the patience to type another useless reply.
If you've disabled all of these in both the in-game settings and directly in the .ini file and are still seeing vanilla auto-saves, then you either have a mod which interferes with said settings on some level or even one that generates them on their own
Why would I disable something that's already disabled? In case you didn't notice, if you do it from the menu, the files get changed, because, surprise, that's where the values are stored.
Obviously you never paid attention to it, because you'd notice the autosaves are still being created no matter what.
-
You don't have any mods that may have some autosave in it? For instance, I have the 'Dynamic Timescale' mod and it has a built in auto-save feature that you can use.
If not, then I really have no idea. I've never had it autosave on me before when I've had those turned off. Is it doing it for all auto-save types? Resting, fast travel, wait, pause? If it is only doing it on some or one, we may be able to narrow the problem down.
I do, but that's the catch - I use Autosave Manager that does it the way I want for me, so I want to get rid of the vanilla autosave, which apparently cannot be turned off :(
What's your problem? You need an attitude adjustment.
My attitude is perfectly fine. I am just sick of useless replies from people who don't bother reading all the time.
Even when you turn off autosave in every possible way. it still does it on travel to Solstheim for example and maybe some other occasions which I can't remember now. If your game autosaves on sleep/wait/travel and etc, that means your game is broken and needs fixing.
That's what I am trying to figure out - when does it create a save. It's extremely annoying, because it clutters the list of saves when I want to reload, and it also horribly lags the whole game for about 2 seconds everytime it happens. Combined with the other autosave it really gets on my nerves. Plus the general fact something is being forced on me with no way of configuring it.
-
Which part of the very first sentence did you not understand?
So, does anyone know how that feature works?
-
I disabled all 4 options related to autosave in the options, but autosaves are still being created. Does anyone know why, and how exactly the whole feature works? It obviously has some unknown conditions to it and is absolutely unconfigurable.

Don't know if it's been reported yet, but endorsements are screwy. When I download files, I'm getting the endorsement reminder for mods I've already endorsed. However, when I check the mod pages, my endorsement is gone and I have to endorse again. And yet when I check the list of most recent endorsements, my screen name doesn't appear.
Now I can fully confirm this. My endorsements have been randomly disappearing. Fairly annoying.

Octopuss: It's possible you triggered your browser's zoom feature by accident. Try hitting Ctrl-0 (Ctrl-zero) next time it happens.
Most browsers have a zoom feature that uses Ctrl-+ (Ctrl-plus) and Ctrl-- (Ctrl-minus) to zoom in and out, and Ctrl-0 to reset.
Dude, I have NO IDEA. I thought I was having hallucinations when it appeared, and twice as much when it went away. I didn't touch a thing before or after. I just clicked refresh and it was there. After a while (like an hour or two) it suddenly went back to normal. I didn't touch any settings.
-
I can confirm this, at least the part about the repeated popup reminder.
-
I don't take drugs, I swear  When I refreshed the page, the font size decreased a tiny bit, and the so did colour, possibly the background shade as well. I don't get it.
edit:
It's back in the original state. Perhaps I should switch the PC off and leave until tomorrow. Something's very wrong here, lol.
-
In the tight depressive and frustrating atmosphere of choking file servers, threads like this are refreshing as hell :D
-
What happened to the fonts on the entre site?! I don't have any problems with vision, but whatever you did, now I can barely read any text!!
I assume something was changed, because I didn't touch a thing in the options of my browser...
-
Looks like Akamai is CDN as well. So yea, good news. Maybe you will have more time to work on other things if this will mostly be handled externally?
Btw I am surprised you can still afford to keep the site running, the costs must be enormous, especially since all the changes over the last months.
-
In response to post #16033580.Or...you could just be patient. Not discounting the fact that a lot of people coming back to download are people who already have accounts on the Nexus but have bought another game in the Steam sale; e.g. Skyrim players buying New Vegas, Dragon Age players buying Skyrim, and so on.
You have valid arguments, but when you can't download 8kB file for 3 days, and basically can't download anything for a week, any arguments go aside and only frustration and anger remains. It wasn't exactly spectacular experience to download things before (but of course I do admit it was huge improvement over the previous state), but this is completely ridiculous.
The CDN thing, is that something conceptually similar to those akamai servers which you're being redirected to when you open some popular sites for example? That's great news. Out of curiosity, will it cost more than maintaining the current set of file servers?
-
I've just had an amateur idea how to solve situation like this next time: if you know your serves can't handle it, close down registrations. I mean what's the point in allowing people to create accounts when they won't be able to download anything anyway? Wait, it's worse: existing members are royally f-ed because of this, and NOONE can download anything. Yea we all can still click on ads, eh?
-
There's _something_ wrong with links on the site.
Look at this guy's profile for example.
"Forzane endorsed Wrye Bash". If you click on the WB link, you end up here: Liliths Sickle - Custom Scythe. I noticed this a lot lately.
-
Would it be possible to let people toggle the hot files section on and off? It takes away large portion of the page, and personally I am not interested in looking at anime pictures or tits twice the size of their owner all day long. Ok, I am exaggerating a bit now, but basically, it would be very nice if I could use the area for seeing more comments (or whatever!) instead.
-
How about letting people decide?
I will endorse something when and ONLY when I feel like it, for one reason or another. End of story. I mean, there's not even anything to discuss here.
The moment something that even remotely reminds people of conditions or rules appears, they will stop endorsing mods completely just because (or would simply endorse everything just to get rid of any popups or whatever just to get rid of them as another extreme).

Yea, apparently I completely misunderstood the purpose of the thread from the very beginning.
Out of curiosity, which feed option did you have in mind? Before it was fixed (not sure what the problem was, but I can finally browse the site like before) I tried to randomly change different options and it didn't make one bit of a difference.
