Sorry to hear it Raverdan. There's a lot to unpack there.
First of all, you can't get vanilla Skyrim to run at all? On a brand new launch? If that's the case you are looking at a whole different beast than this bug.
Hey, thank you for the reply. It turns out Steam had uninstalled my game and because of that, it slowly started deteriorating with every attempt. I didn't even think to check if my game was or wasn't installed since why would it be uninstalled if not by my hand? But supposedly, sometimes that happens. Also, scrolling through some of the forum here, I learned about verifying your data files through Steam. Now I'm looking into tutorials on Fallrim Tools and such. Kind of embarrssing to think it was just my game uninstalled though. I'm still confused on the clown face thing though.

hello, I too have a problem. I was going really well for about a month. I was checked all cities before I started playing, no problems. A month in, I kept to the west, the Reach and Haafingar, then my story pushed me to Whiterun. I had been to Whiterun before with no problems, except...this time. I crashed at the stables. I thought it couldve been from script fatigue. I tried again an hour later. This time, and I kid you not, the game gave my character a clowns face. We're talking white face, clown makeup an it crashed again. Clown makeup, crash again. I deleted all my saves and started a new game. I have Realm of Lorkhan, while there, I uninstalled script heavy mods (Frostfall, Frostfall and Campfire Unofficial Update, Footprints, OStim and everything associated with it [dont judge], and thats it). From Realm of Lorkhan, I transported to Whiterun, instant crash! Tried again, instant crash. I had Dark's Whiterun Market, uninstalled that, tried again, instant crash. Surely it couldn't have been Fortified Whiterun? Maybe, uninstalled that too, tried again...no crash...I also had Convenient Carriages, used that to travel somewhere else. Ok, we're looking good. Went back to Whiterun, crash. Tried again, took a carriage from Whiterun to somewhere else, then to Riften. Crash. Uninstalled my beloved Convenient Carriages. Used the shards in the Realm of Lorkhan to travel. Transported to Whiterun, all good. Transported back to Realm of Lorkhan, crash. Wtf. Again, this is all on a new game. Restarted the game, crash on load screen. Uninstalled Realm of Lorkhan, tried Alternate Start, crashed on load screen. Tried vanilla start, crashed on load screen. Only thing I can think of is I updated SKSE64 before this playthrough and it's on the bottom of the load order but I use Vortex so Im not sure if it matters there. Do I have to shred the game and start all over? Here are my plugins

If anyone has any ideas, I'm open for some suggestions. Thank you so much to anyone that can help.
this is the clown face my game gave me randomly. Also, apparently my game uninstalled itself.
But he normally looks like this

Alternate Start is a good mod for troubleshooting, since you avoid the cart ride and the script loading problems that can happen during that ride.
You do not mention whether or not you are using a mod manager and/or which one you're using. Troubleshooting 101 -- restart your computer if you haven't done so recently. Verify your game files through Steam -- go to your Steam Library, hover over Skyrim, right click, choose Properties, then Local Files, the Verify Integrity of Game Files. No, this process will not erase any of your game saves or mods or anything else that wasn't part of the original installation. Once you've done that, start a new game and see if you still crash. If you don't, you've solved the issue which could have been either that your save was corrupted or that the game files were slightly off-kilter in some way.
Otherwise, you'll have to start disabling your mods in very small groups until you can isolate the culprit.
Hey I have a question. I didn't about this until I read it here. What does it mean if the Local Files option is missing?
Update: apparently my game wasn't installed. Not sure how that could be, I've been playing for years

I found one that takes care of the tankards but still getting blue soup bowls (from iNeed Extended)

Does anyone know what meshes Animated Eating Redux uses? I'm getting some blue chalices and blue soup bowls. I looked all over the description but cant figure it out

Dude I have 244 active mods and 650 light plugins and I am working fine. I get an occasional crash and low fps, especially solitude, but I haven't had any other serious issues besides that. To run everything smoothly it is a requirement that I have no programs running in the background however but I love skyrim so much that I don't really care lol. Been working on my load order for around 5 years now and self-learned to use many of the minor programs available on nexus to manage your mods from LOOT to SSEEDIT. It's been a blast and I have seen load orders on youtube saying they have 1153 mods in total and even higher than that! So there is no such thing as too many mods my dude. It just depends on optimizing your load order with patches and fixes, learning to merge your mods and TEST THEM (testing your merges are very, very important btw) and being careful to convert the right mods into light plugins as best you can.
I've been doing the same, testing my mods before I start playing and started never installing mods mid game. SSEEDIT I'm still new to. I also lose FPS in Solitude or anywhere that's around smoke so I make sure to restart my computer before every playthrough, seems to work. Also, I moved up to 189 mods now ( from 114 from when I first started this thread). Mostly from patches. I think a key thing is always to read the description lol

I found it -
Snow Elf Resurrection SE (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/25113). The comments section states that it is not working properly. You may have to port (or have someone else port) the latest Skyrim version.
Sorry, the previous mod wasn't what you were looking for, I must have seen them both about the same time, and got them confused.
I looked for the other one but didnt find it. Thanks so much for the effort! Very rare nowadays
-
I've seen a few mods using this but what exactly does it do?
-
I did some searching, and there is a mod for LE, ported for SE, that was a WIP, and a bit buggy. I believe it was titled Bellaria Isle, or Island. Sorry that I didn't copy it, but it was very late for me, and I had had enough for the day...
no need to be sorry, we've all been there. You did more than enough, Ill look into that. Thank you
-
Is there a patch for those two mods? I'm tired of seeing my followers dangler everytime we're about to go into town. It's embarrassing. I found this https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/11573?tab=description but it's pretty old now. Yes, I have read the description on CH and done this:
- Amazing Follower Tweaks: There have been few issues here and there and most of them have been prevented. It is important to have horse features disabled in AFT along with follower teleport on weapon draw setting.
I can still see his twig and berries. If anyone has any ideas or knows of a patch I missed, please let me know, I'm sure others are wondering the same. Thanks guys.

Just want to say, you're a damn hero, bro and we don't deserve you.

Can anybody help me? already asked mod creator if he could convert to SSE with CBBE body. it never responded, tried to install... She appears bald and has a white heptagonal prism as well as a red triangular prism around her. What the heck did I do?mods creator did not respond to my request nor other people +4 years in the comments site Nexus.I appreciate someone being able to help, I'm sorry for my bad English ;(you should try making one yourself, you could come out with something even better. My character is a female high elf and was having trouble finding a high elf male that wasnt a wimp or a douche so I created my own. A more than worthy mate for her. Then I created 4 more followers for fun. They use vanilla hair but it is what it is.

That's why I'm loving things like powerofthree's Spell Perk Item Distributor. It accomplishes a lot of what previously could only be done with lots of scripts and quests, which frees up your engine's capacity without limiting content. A lot of modders are really starting to tap into it's potential, as im seeing more and more SPID mods roll out. Take Cold Region Behavior (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/38633) for example. For now, it may only do about 80% of what Wet and Cold can do, but it does it with pretty much no additional script load for SSE's engine and even does it faster and more efficiently. I'd highly recommend taking a look at SPID and some of the mods that currently require it via SPID's requirements tab. I've tried a lot of them and so far I've had zero issues.
Keep SSE's engine happy, and you will be happy
oh I'm going to have to check those out, anything I can do to keep the engine happy. Though I'm in the middle of a game now. But I'll download it and save it for the next game. Ive been reading into scripts and found this article on Nexus
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/articles/52598/ It's an interesting read and he really breaks it down. As for your other post, I do getting freezing once in a blue moon and FPS lowers around smoke for me. I really appreciate all the help

Lod asks you to fetch the specific dog spotted outside of Falkreath, who turns out to be Barbas, a dog who already has a master, so I'd kind of like to be able to take him a different dog. There's a mod to Bring Meeko To Lod, but seeing as Meeko is a special case, I'd prefer to not get rid of him.
I think that's a great idea, he had already given me money too. Meeko is a no go, he's mine and always has been.
-
nah Meeko is mine! Especially because I made him look like a white wolf
-
is there a mod that exists that adds a group of hidden snow elves, maybe in the Forgotten Vale? Sort of like Interesting NPCs but just Snow Elves. Maybe a small little Snow Elf village they all live in near Auriel's temple? I think that would be pretty fun

657 "active mods" according to vortex. That includes 252 active esps, 298 light esps, a few dozen skse plugins, one bashed patch, one merged patch, texture mods, ENB, Dyndolod, and ALLGUD. I'm willing to live with 30-40 FPS in cities (with the mod Open Cities, JK's Skyrim) but usually pull 50-60 FPS in wilderness areas on a somewhat decent CPU and GPU (Ryzen 5 3600X and RX590 Fatboy).
In regards to your question about how many mods is too many, it really depends. You want to look at that question from the SSE engine's point of view rather than your computer, unless your talking about texture mods with ENB (GPU intensive). The quickest way to kill SSE is with multiple script heavy mods. Things like Frostfall, Wet and Cold, SkyTEST, Immersive Citizens, etc might be fine on their own, but as soon as you start putting too many of them together either the engine gets over burdened and freezes, or all of your scripted events (vanilla and modded) start misfiring or only partially working. This will lead to a corrupted save in no time.

I have Frostfall with Wet and Cold and Campfire, iNeed. I've been installing mods for a bit but still learning. Is there still a 255 cap on esps? How do I know if a mod is script heavy or not? How much does SKSE help with that?
-
well what about RS Children, that changes their facesLook at the adult npc tutorials it's basically the same. The only difference is that faces of the children a set so there won't be any adjusting that.

that's a great answer and I'm going to have to agree
Ah, the eternal question. Nobody knows....I'm going on 114, probably to 120. How many do you all have? At some point, how many is too many?
Â
When you're spending more time making compatibility patches and checking for conflicts using xEdit than actually playing the game, that's probably an indication that you've got too many mods.
-
I'm going to have to learn to do thatI have 386, I've heard of some people having 500 or more, but it involves converting the ESPs to ESL, or merging several mods into ONE, etc..

SSKE or SKYUi causing crashes every 30-60 minutes

so the CTD only applies to when you put the left handed weapon into a group but it won't crash if it's just in favorites?
