  1. I just delved into the world of Skyrim modding. After some inconveniences with crashing and discomfort with relying specifically on some guides suggestive of what mods to install based on their standards, I considered that it would perhaps be more efficient to provide enough data to account for all mods to determine compatibility rather than relying on any one or more community or individual set of standards suggestive of what and what not to install. Certainly I still want to check out some mods that are not included in those standards, but due to compatibility concerns, I cannot do so so reliably without knowing what is causing the crash. As a means of saving time for myself and others and for ease of installation, a package management system designed similarly to Portage seems like something that may be useful. Does anyone have any thoughts on this idea? Does it seem like something worth developing? For those who are not familiar, or for reference: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portage_%28software%29
  2. mm, I do apologize for the link. Using Mozilla Firefox v23.0.1 I right clicked on the completed downloaded file and selected "Copy Download Link." From http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/modmanager//? clicking on the green "Download Now" link (which is javascript loadBox('/ajax/downloadnmm')) or http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/ajax/downloadnmm, which contains: Preparing your file...<script>loadBox('</script> Visiting http://dev.tesnexus.com/client/releases/latest/ leads to the file. I see the link in my original post for some reason is inaccurately detected. I blocked the specific screen capture aspect of NMM and have continued using NMM, but I shall unblock it and observe to see if it occurs again. Perhaps it was a false positive. I'll be more effortful to produce some screenshots.
  3. I just installed Nexus Mod Manager and after it had been running for 5-10 minutes, I noticed a strange dialog from one of my security apps suggesting NMM attempted to capture screenshot of my desktop interface. I am not certain what for, and I have not previously installed any other apps in a windows environment that have displayed that 'feature' unexpectedly. Can someone help me to understand what the screen capture is for? The Nexus Mod Manager-0.45.6.exe installation file that I downloaded from http://dev.tesnexus.com/client/releases/latest/ is: 4,123,248 bytes md5: f708dc309e7ffb1c874c759e02a3260d sha256: b0789c3a8036fa459ed959f7406debe723f339f1183d9bc2ba87360b02a1a5c6 sha384: 7a7a4f15b40da8e28605e5c140227ca6a24c044aed144eb77734830c20576d9fd2fbc03d67fb18cbcd568a4c2f682e29 sha512: 8cbf7c9514dc7dc3cd1a13154669f83e1198e9bc5e08133dadaa6554e9430a37d4bf9c4b5c44c9a34d2d5e3caa60019bdccf06319d7a9f4702242e7454b2ca34
