I mean for the squaddies like Jack and Samara who runs around in firefights with leather straps and cleavage. Will it be possible to make custom armors in the future? Would be awesome for everyone having some sort of proper armor during the suicide missions.

This, the vertibirds are just pathethic and it ruins the impression, if they are so easy to bring down they should just move in to drop off the knights and then fly off. Not stay and fight. The vertibirds should have realy good armor/protection against small arms fire and be weak against explosives/heavy weapons.
