  1. Hi guys, I've got something weird going on in my current New Vegas save having to do with agro vs. non-agro NPCs. The last patch made the Van Graffs hostile after completing Cass's quest where you turn in evidence of the Van Graffs and Crimson Caravan conducting illegal activities. I didn't want to lose the Van Graffs as a vendor so I used a console command to add them to the player faction. The command I used was addtofaction 1B2A40, which adds the targeted NPC to the player's faction. This worked and they went back to being civil with me, but had some weird consequences I didn't notice until much later. All of the sudden Freeside Thugs we're no longer aggressive towards me along with other random things like Mantis's. Additionally, any time I try to enter the North Vegas Strip gate now all the securitrons freak out and start attacking. Basically, I think I really messed my game up faction wise and am looking for a way to set things right. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks.
  2. Hi guys, I'm working on the unmarked quest Midnight Ranch Attack. I got the quest from Dusty and not from talking to No-Bark. I also had Boon's quest as well as Come Fly With Me active when I started. Right now the Nightkin walks up to the brahmin pen cloaked and then just stands there without attacking. If I kill him he drops the note, but Dusty refuses to acknowledge that I have it. How the hell do I fix this? Is there a console command? A mod that fixes this quest? ANYTHING?! Any help would be super appreciated. Thanks, Ramzie
  3. Thanks for the suggestion Savage117, but invisible armor mods are what I'm trying to avoid. In invisible item I've added with a mod that can't be seen feels like cheating in a way to me. If i'm going to be wearing something that is adding DR to my character, I want it to show up visually as well as have the effects of simply existing. For example, the body armor should count as light or medium armor (depending on the DT it provides) and effect run speed like normal light/medium armors do. Additionally, the item needs to have a certain weight. 4-8 lbs. seems fair for a piece of body armor. Possibly 10-15 lbs. if it's a heavier version. Again, I love the tactical vests that I posted in the mod above because of the visual side and great thought put into the effects they provide, but I want something that visually matches Fallout New Vegas and the Fallout world at large more closely. 4. Hi guys, I like running around New Vegas (or the Capital Wasteland) in the Wasteland Doctor Fatigues, but the DR kind of sucks. I've thought about just making a simple mod making the item's stats better and placing it in the game world, but it would kind of ruin things for me since no matter how you look at it the clothes are still just pants and a t-shirt. What i'm looking for is a mod that adds a bulletproof vest that increases your DR. There's one really really great mod that almost nails what i'm looking for completely called NV Tactical Vests by DreadWolf (http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=35905), but these all seem a but lore-unfriendly for my tastes. I'm looking for a best that looks like it belongs in a Fallout game and not in Call of Duty: Black Ops. Does anyone know of a mod like this or would anyone be interested in making one? There was the mod Kevlar Vest by Pyro Paul for Fallout 3 (http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=3491) that took the armor portion of the Vault Security Armor and made a standalone vest that was nice, but it had some issues as far as weapons clipping and it fitting right over certain clothes. At any rate, would LOVE to see someone take this on as a project and New Vegas bulletproof vest for wearing with clothes that looks like something a Mojave Wasteland Cowboy/Ranger/Waster/Gun Runner/Average Joe might wear. Thanks, Ramzie
  5. Llama, you are the man! That would be great if you could send me the ESP file to add him as a preset. Really appreciate it. Thanks a ton, Ramzie
  6. Hi guys, I had a mod I used in Fallout 3 which added Vance's face (leader of The Family) as a preset that you could choose at character creation. I'm not very good in the G.E.C.K. so I'm not sure how to go about adding it myself, but was hoping one of you might know. Could someone either walk me through on how to do this or create a simple mod adding his face to New Vegas? Thanks, Ramzie
  7. I did some testing with all of my mods listed above and figured out what was corrupting my save files when traveling to the F. Scott Campground or Dunwich building. I'm not sure why it would be, but "StreetLights - Wasteland.esp" was the culprit. I've deactivated the mod and now everything is working just fine.

  9. Hi all, I had to revert to an old save file today after my main one became corrupted. I travelled back to the F. Scott Key Trail & Campground and then the Dunwich building and the same thing happened again to a save with six hours less progress. How can this area of Fallout 3 be corrupting my saves? Has anyone else experienced something like this? Below are the mods i'm using. Please let me know if anyone knows what could be causing this. NOTE: I tried deactivating all mods and running vanilla and traveling to the area. Did so with no corruption issues. 11. Hi Guys, I wanted to make a simple mod taking the Wasteland Doctor Fatigues clothing item and making a new one based off of it's look that had a higher DR and a unique effect. I was going to make... The Lone Wanderer's Fatigues 12 DR +1 CHA +5 small guns +5 medicine Problem is once I had created the effect and the new armor in the G.E.C.K. I tried to save and couldn't. Every time I tried to hit save I would get a pop-up box saying "Invalid Directory". At first I thought, "ok, I'll save somewhere else", but no matter where I tried saving the .eps file it always gave me the same "Invalid Directory" response. Does anyone have any idea why I'm getting this when I try to save my mod? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Ramzie
  12. Hi Minarusan and welcome! There are a few programs you're going to need in order to use mods with Fallout 3. The first is the Fallout Mod Manager (FOMM). This program will handle every aspect of loading/unloading your mods and helps keep things from breaking, becoming cluttered, or straight-up not working. This is the first mod-related thing you should download. http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=640 The next is a script extender called the Fallout Interoperability Program (FOIP) which you will need in order for some mods that make heavy use of scripts to work. http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=4968 Finally, I'd get Cipscis' Automatic Save Manager (CASM). Fallout 3's save system sucks and save files easily become corrupted causing you to have to start a new game. With this mod you automatically create backups or multiple versions so, worst case, you'll only lose a few minutes to maybe an hour of game play. Very useful. http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=3729 Finally, I've placed a list of mods below that I'm currently using that I enjoy. I haven't used anything that changes the original game too much. Instead, I've focused on mods that improve the experience through minor tweaks, add-ons that feel at home in the vanilla version, and mods that make Fallout 3 better looking. Enjoy! 13. Thanks Dingenskirchen! After my OP I ended up just going down my mods list and loading them in chunks to find the culprit. Your last bit of advice ended up being the offending mod. That damn clear every cell mod was crashing me every time I entered. Deactivated and now Media is taking care of a baby and paying me for teddy bears. Not sure how I got an .eps to load before an .ems... I think I'm going to take the opportunity to run through my entire mod list with FO3edit to see if there are any dirty mods in there anywhere. All I can say is I'm so happy that FOMM exists. Again, thanks for the help! Ramzie
  14. Hi Guys, I'm experiencing a crash when ever I enter Werner's Hideout in The Pitt. The zone loads and I can see the room, but then it immediately freezes. Here is the mod load order. Please let me know if any of the mods I'm using could be causing this to happen or if my order is screwy. 15. Hey all, I've been wanting to make some changes to the various house themes as well as changing the placement and appearance of certain house upgrades. How do I edit just a theme and not the Megaton house itself? Is each theme a different cell? Likewise, how do I edit the upgrades such as the infirmity, jukebox, nuka-cola machine, lab, etc.? Again, I'm looking to change those items and the themes and NOT the Megaton of Tenpenny houses directly. Thanks, Ramzie
  16. Hi all, I've always taken Megaton as my home town and since experimenting with all the themes always liked the science theme the most. Out of all the themes it always felt the most like the place my character would live; surrounded by technology he's cobbled together to try and recreate as much of it as he can. I like the science theme, but it's a bit bland and I think could be improved on. Has anyone done any overhauls of the science theme or willing to do one? I'd love to see the Megaton house with the science theme feel more techy, functional, but still like something you might find in the original game AKA not lore/immersion breaking. Thanks, Ramzie
