AleCuneo, You must have had some sun glare when you first read the decree. I'm sure if you re-read the document you'll agree, it is in fact you the kindly Aldmeri are seaking.

I don't mind at all. In fact, start a new thread somewhere and I'll start writing books on all the book names I wrote. I don't know how many pages you are limited in a book, but break them into volumes if need be. I like Brandy the Bard.
If anyone would like books or scripts written drop me a note somewhere about a topic and the flavor of the story or script and i'll help out if i can.

When you say you are using a new save, dos that mean you started a new game? If you did start one and used a quickstart game save did you alter the race by means of showracemenu? changing the race while in the console affects a few things. It takes away ratial bonuses and does affect other game events.
Try this from a new character. Goto Riverwood from Helgen. Get the request to inform the Jarl. Then report to the Jarl of whiterun- walking through the gate and continue to the Jarl. Get the stone quest and then retrieve it. Turn in the claw at Riverwood then go back to Whiterun. Walk through the gate and continue up to turn in the stone. If the "female source" is arguing about the stone with Farengar, you are in. Turn in the stone. On your left you'll see the gaurd running up to warn the Jarl. Irileth will come bounding in about 3 seconds later with her elvish demands to follow her.

Get the NPC editor and you can make any NPC do, look like, equip, adjust skill set, anything but change gender, name and a few variables unknown to the author. You can even assign them to factions so they never get attacked by certain groups.
What I wish you could do, is have your Carls get an action dialog like your husband or wife and tell them what house you want them to call home.

hehehe , Here's my first book. Remember it is completely innocent. How you read into it is your own doing.
Mud Crabs - Clear out the nest
All day long he was restless. Unsure of what the day will bring, but he certainly was itching for a fight. Back and forth, nervously pacing. Hour after hour. The skin covering his very bones was just crawling. He knew he had to do something, not being able to put a finger on it just made matters worse. Long hours into the night and early the next day, the discomfort was taking its toll.
Early that second morning, a visitor arrived, sullen but certain. "Its your fault" she exclaimed. "I have not gotten one ounce of comfort since you did your deed then gave me your crabs".
He knew exactly of what she spoke and deep down inside was certain this was the cause of his rash and unsettleing feeling. He could not admit to this woman, that he was the cause of this incident. Had she known he visited another's den, he would not have given this lovely lass the crabs he did. He just had to sample the Chitin near a bush in the woman's front yard. How could he admit to her that he brought them back to the house he shared and pledged to this wonderful creation. He gave them to her however, the crabs of some other woman.
The eve of 2 nights prior. The same night he shared his most hidden knowledge about his treasure with the other woman. They shared secrets about each others nest. Him and the strange female feasted. They tasted of each others stores. His beauty left in anger. He was certain his love had her doubts but knew she was unsure. To cover his sins, he knew he had but 1 option. During the darkest hours of the night. When the moon falls silently behind the western hills, he crept out needing to see that wonderful nest again. The mound of the other woman that started the whole incident. He was going to rid himself of the crabs.
Slinking in the shadows, he fealt his way across the area to the pole that marked his destination. When out of sight from any but the most trained eye, he lit up a torch and set fire to her bush. Without realizing what he had done, the crabs lept from her bush and were on him. With only the lit torch, he waved it around burning the crabs. They seemed to be everywhere, almost dogding as he accosted the infestation. Tiring as it was, the arcing fire seemed to take on a life of its own and eventually thwarted the rush of crabs. The light flickered and went out.
The next morning, tired and sore, he got out of bed to answer the incessant knocking. The pounding he thought only inside his head. Not really knowing how he got home or if it really had happened, he managed to get to the door. upon opening it, his beloved was there crying. She was hurt deeply but managed a soft and broken, "why"? The young man had nothing to say, so he just stood there and waited. Waited and wondered what would be next. He didn't wait long.
My sister. My poor twin sister. Someone stole onto her private area at her home and set fire to her beautiful bush. I helped her groom that bush and we often shared special moments there. Last night a stranger crept in and destroyed that wonderfully groomed area. She had a stool she kept just behind the bush that someone pushed into it and destroyed it all. Hot as embers, the stool burned deep into her bush until finally the stool was gone and the bush completely changed forever.
After this short recap of the happenings that fateful early morning the women left, never to return. She left with her sister to help groom her own bush. To put a stool there for them to enjoy and share new crabs that they'll get from another encounter with some unknown merchant.
The man closed the door confused at first, but then clarity struck him. He realized he could have shared in all the crabs the 3 of them could have gotten from each other and from complete strangers. The stool he burned would have been shared by all and he could have nesteled into that bush or the bush of his former girlfriend if he had only groomed it properly.
Alas, could he have taken the night back. He surely would have reconsidered cleaning out her nest. He could have revelled at her bush, shared her stool and tasted the crabs of the 2 women he loved.

It would be the same type of effect that sometimes happens when you exit water. You glide across the ground until you hit uneven terrain or rocks.

If you decide to play other then Vanilla Skyrim, following some simple guidelines may save you hours of frustration.
Before you load ANY mod ALWAYS back up your skyrim data folder (C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\skyrim\Data) <----- Default install location
Copy and paste the whole "DATA" folder to the previous directory "skyrim" for easy finding later when you want and more importantly, need it. Always re-save after every 2 or 3 mods. Just like your save game file, when you really need it, you remember you havn't made a save for 6 hours and lost bunches of goodies and exploration. Save, Save, Save. It takes a few minutes to save even the most modded game. I personally run about 60 different mods (so far) and have resorted to my previous save to undo a mod that conflicted with something else I already run or was just badly written at its present state. Just un-selecting a mod from your mod manager or Skyrim data option may stop the ESP file from loading, but it will not fix overwritten/altered data files.
Also, help out the mod's developer by writing a comment to them. Remember, the modders are doing us all a favor by investing their skills, time and effort for FREE. So be gentle on them.
Added Note : If you are new to adding mods to your game, try and use simple or self installing mods. Shy away from custom mods that require a lot of technical understanding or seem daunting in there installation process. You more then likely will only get frustrated and walk away with a bad experience.

There's a Mod thats called "AllArmorPlayable" or something similar. What happens on the headless issue is you are given a new "invisible" armor that changes your toons mesh/skin to one that has no head. With the mod, you can remove the previously "invisible" armor and get your head back. It works with NPS' and you can take the headless "armor" off an adversary you just decapitated and wear it - having your head go away. It also works with Suzanne the wicked once you get to the point where she's the highlight of a quest. Its a funny mod to play with and theres a lot of things that are just armor overlays.
-
When you load a mod, you are often requested to overwrite an existing file or files. What is probably the case is you have overwritten mesh or textures that are no longer available or usable by vanilla or un-modded Skyrim. Always save your Skyrim Data folder as a backup before any mod is ran or loaded. Save it again after each new mod or maybe every other and even name them "Data - FunnyPJ" just before you load the funny PJ mod. If you start to piece meal your data folder back, you will just get deaper into goo and more then likely end up back at the same no load desktop crash.
I suggest you copy down the mod names you use and reload Skyrim from scratch. THEN make a backup of you data folder and start modding. (remember to back up the data folder again and again as you go). The great Steam platform you are forced to use will call for about 2 hours of download time - or more.

I talked about this before. The problem is you fast travelled to DragonReach. For some reason, on this quest and the original one for the Companions, you must walk through the main gate of Whiterun. I have no idea what is really happening and it certainly does not happen all the time. When it does happen, it is always related to fast travel. I have played it out even on plane jane vanilla Skyrim and it happens there too.
The only fix I know of and could even find any reference to at all is a previous reload from a saved game that was not corrupted. If you console the completed quest or advence the stages, it will not fix the future problem. a lot of quest are broken at the start of this issue and it keeps getting worse with more and more quests breaking. as time moves forward during your play.
-
This game error is caused by not walking through the main gate when you go to turn in the quest. You are given the dialog to go see him, but he never responds. The only way to fix this is to go back to a prior save. The quest does not see that you entered whitrun even though you seemed to get credit for the prior quest stage.
A similar bug happens when you turn in the dragon stone. The quest to go fight the tower dragon will not spawn. You need to walk through the Whiterun gate. the error does not always happen, but when it does, it is solely related to fast travel.
Also note, when you have this happen, other quests start to break and never get to the completion stage (usually stage level 200, but not always)

Lydia is a known lost follower. If you ever had her as a follower and she's not with you or at y our home,, go back up to Dragon Reach or the Tomb in Whiterun. If its her, she'll be eating bread, drinking mead, or laid out on a slab. Dismiss her as a follower and you'll be fine. If she's dead, you may have to console her back to remove her.
there is a moveto or placemeat the NPC, but use console commands as little as possible. they can have strange game and quest effects.

No one is forcing any of us to do anything. Why does any of this matter to any of us? How about because we all want a game we can enjoy to our own liking. I didn't intend my reply to be a dig or jab at anyones playstyle. I stated I like anime. You can hardly get away from Dev cartoon in this game. a lot of graphic content is very cartoonish.
I just did a Nexus search for anime and didn't really find a whole lot of content. If we had an Oscuro or Mad Mart overhaul (ES4) to completely change it all to animee, at least within reason, I don't think it would be all that bad. In fact, It might even be a more true type game. With all the dwemer contraptions and the way weapons are sticky taped to your back, its very hard to put them into perspective.
Call the Anime version Skyrime
And to whoever stated about Anime companies not having an issue with it, contact Smith and Tinker about their version of Mechwarrior 5, and why the company FASA had to close up shop. Its a huge deal to all the Anime creators and artists. Its litterally worth millions on each artistic creation/character.
-
With all the intellect and ingenuity held and molded to the will of the Dwemer, why can't their gaurdians be a little more indominable. They don't have to shoot out death rays, but could one of you great modders make even just the automatons a bit beafier?
-
I don't mind animee pllay. I just want the g ame I'm intending to play be what I get it for. I prefer Skyrim to be more "life like" immersion instead of animee-ish cartoony. I know a lot of most everything falls outside the realm of real and life like. But If i want full die hard interaction in animee, I'll reload one of the Final Fantasy line.
-
I think it would be interesting to say the least. I just hope I don't arrive like we do in the initial cut scene.
It would be very intereseting if the knowledge you have of Skyrim was mostly current and similar. Then, I think I would go. The freedom to explore as really see all of it in first person real life.

For me, I like to play the moral dillema out. There are several big ones you have to make in the course of adventuring and ultimately facing your nemesis. If you think in game environment terms, its easy for me. You don't know what the Devines or Daedric Princes have in store. Sheogorath gives the best interaction and understanding for this. You are a play thing to them. They take an interest in your very being. They move you around Skyrim as a pawn on a chessboard. Each act you do, hones your skills and that in turn causes outward comments or reactions from the people you encounter. Even at the start, if you follow the Imperial or Stormcloak soldier from Helgen to the 3 stones, they comment on which stone you chose. Listen to the Grey Beard dialog. They tell you about a lot of what will and does happen. If you take it all in, your soul purpose is to be the catalyst for end times. Without spoiling the game any further, I wont go into any more details about game events.
My whole point here is, I believe the Devines/Princes offer these factions to you to join by directing or influencing your path. They (the Devines) are lazy and amuzed by our insignificance. Yet, they still find some enjoyment in your struggles. From their point of view, Why not encourage our little pawn to do things like the Dark Brotherhood. You may gain skills to prevent "us" from having to recreate the whole world thing all over again. AND you KNOW what a pain in the arse that would be. Lets see what happens to this generations little hero.
I see it as why I run different type of characters. The Devines are guiding this toon a different direction for maybe an alternate universe comparison. Who knows
I hope that helps.

You people have no sympathy for the poor dear. The gaurds work diligently for the various Jarl's and general populous. They are tireless in there endeaver. They never complain about long hours, the dinning facility, the sleeping arrangements, or lack the of family and friendships. The gaurds never miss a shift and stand tirelessly, hours on end in the heat, frost, wind and rain. When some poor soul opens their heart up to you, you scoff at them. You don't ask how their day is going, You could give them a few moments of your time and get them the mead they ask for, sharpen their not-butter cutting sword or conjure them a warm bed. They never ask for much. As far as you know, the workmans comp claim was rejected due to some clerical error or unfortunate ommittance of some vital piece of evidence. Maybe, the shooter was uninsured and it was an accidental discharge. Maybe all hers or his adventuring capitol went to pay ther medical bills. Maybe, just maybe, they are being really poilite. The arrow in the knee could be interpreted as taking a shaft below the belt. It's entirely possible, some Winterhold layer mis-represented them in court and they lost all their life savings.
Its just a thought about the poor gaurd person that is trying to reach out.
:D

This unjust hatred in Skyrim is unsettling. It happens for no reason and without warning. There are 2 ways to eliminate it.
1 : Go through your previous saves until you find one that was not corrupted with that bug.
2 : Consol your player.setcrimegold 0 "faction id" : Use the collowing as the ID each as required as separate entries
000267E3 (Crime Faction Eastmarch - Windhelm)
00029DB0 (Crime Faction Haafingar - Solitude)
0002816D (Crime Faction Hjaalmarch - Morthal)
0002816C (Crime Faction The Reach - Markarth)
0002816B (Crime Faction The Rift - Riften)
000267EA (Crime Faction - Whiterun)
00028170 (Crime Faction - Winterhold)
There are other factions easily looked up. It drive me CRazy crAzy craZY when these kinds of issues pop up. Remember you may have killed a Quest person during your egress out of the linching, so it might be better to backtrack to a prior save.

Really good post with a lot of playtime behind it. I have played everything i can possibly play except a lizard and a true mage. As I don't care for Argonians and a True Mage would be oh so boring to my game play and style.
My pet tree's are Archery and Stealth. I have yet to easily walk through anything but the most scripted Bosses designed to interact with you regardless of character action. I play Master level exclusively with mods that increase difficulties. This game is like any other game with respect to the AI. You find flaw in object navigation, collision and blocks and use them to your advantage. I think your 10 things to be a Master of Skyrim should include not picking up items, not going to dungeons and killing people prior to a quest spawn to go there and not retieve something or killing someone before its requested. That is mastering this game. Determining the AI is a simple basic objective. Knowing when and how to do something simply and effortlessly is mastering it.

I'm still waiting for the update that...
Fixes Broken Quest to kill ...
Fixes Broken Quest to find ...
Fixes Broken Quest to get ...
Fixes Broken Quest to talk to ...
Fixes Broken Quest to join ...
Fixes Broken Quest that spawns ...

I think with the Caravans and all the less then honorable citizens of Skyrim, Cyrodiil, Morrowind, Black Marsh, etc, that someone, somewhere would have crossed a boarder with a few of these artifacts. The scones that hold the soulgems would make perfect holders for the Ayleid stones, IMHO.

Enemies actually surrender.
