Which game (or games) do you have the fondest memories with?
Brandy1123 replied to MikeRyan's topic in Classic Games
This is a tought question to answer. The more you think about all the games you've played, the more memories of each come to mind. Number 1 all time : Ultima Online : Pre-expansion 2 : Mechwarrior 4 3 : ES 4 - Oblivion 4 : Heroes in the Sky ( wow, all games that do NOT require STEAMypile) -
OOOhhhh this is a nice little bit of nostolgia. Grand Prize : Original Relase of Ultima Online (Pre-expansion) Runner ups 1: Masters of Orion 2 2: Warcraft 1 3: Rules of Engagement (RoE) 4: Jumpman 5: Loadrunner 6: Wing Commander 1/2 7: Castles 8 : Vikings 9: Choplifter a : Adventure All of these can still be played on DosBox emulator.

The marriage event has always been bugged from the game's release. With all the follower mods adding to the mix and the mods that change marriage and adds divorce, what was JUST somewhat unstable, is now rediculously fragile - at best. If you have multiple followers from any means, or mods that affect NPC reaction, these could be your problem. Also, be aware that any jewelry/amulet changing mod that affects the amulet of Mara could also be a problem. With Dawnguard came a game update. Some of the mods you use might be conflicting with changes Dawnguard made. If you are completely sure about when the problem happened, then you have some hunting to do in your loaded mods.

Unable to complete College of Winterhold Quests
Brandy1123 replied to autumnsky38's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I found or verified that several of the quickstarts, different starts, prostitution mods, or other character "scripting" mods can and does affect quests negatively. You can try and disable the ESM/ESP of some of these and see if it helps. I have not had an issue with quests breaking from race mods or the beauty type mods ... yet. -
The respawn is 10 game days. However, it is 10 game days outside the cell. I have come to the conclusion that if you enter the cell withing that time period, the 10 days counter restart once you leave the region again.

Looking at some of the last few posts. a lot of good points and ideas. Maybe if Nexus had a category or icon like for PM's and Mail notifications that showed how many MOD's you have not responded to would be useful. It could have a drop down menu to click "endorse" or "ignore" - or something similar. It would be non-intrusive and a freindly reminder to follow up on some Mod you tried or still use.
-
Mr Bravo - I would hope the users leave some feed back. Hopefully positive or at least respectfully worded criticism or questions/requests. The only reason I posted this topic was I just started looking at the more heavily downloaded mods and the number of endorsements, then worked my way down from there. As a modder, I know it must make you feel somewhat justified in all the effort when you get positive feedback of anykind. I just want to bring to light this fact to those who have neglected for whatever reason to give some credit where it is much over due. I always thank the author of a mod I use. Talented people, like yourself and many others give our games years of extended pleasure.

Some things posted here are exactly my point. We are too lazy to log back in (say less then a minute) and click a little box. We get hundreds and thousands of dollars in value added content and think nothing to turn your nose at the person who worked to give it to us. Is a minute of our time not worth all the added treasures and pleasures we get for nothing? With even just the unique D/L of the NMM, there should an incredible increase in endorsements daily. It only takes 2 mouse clicks to endorse a mod if NMM is opened. TWO. Thats about as much energy as the cheese coloring on your finger left over from the cheese curls - AFTER you wipe it on your pant leg. How much happier would we be if the rest of the great and talented modders just left? We should all be ranting at people to do this. If you care enough for the mod to keep it your load order for longer then a few days, then it deserves an endorsement. I just don't understand people wanting something for nothing - at someone elses expense.
-
I am confused as to how so many people can download all this FREE content from Nexus and never give an endorsement to the mod's Author. This costs absolutely nothing. Everytime you open NMM just go down the list and endorse one or two. We need to do something positive instead of just belittle every modder's effort here. For the sake of us all, please give a little respect and curtesy back to the writers of what keep us all coming back. If you dislike these mods so much you cant make 4 mouse clicks, then you should be playing vanilla, or go get an X-BOX. Let people know you like what they are doing. It takes such little effort to get so much enjoyment.

Once you learn attack angles, line of sight blocking, terrain navigation and movement, there are very few things in skyrim (or most any game) you ever need to wory about. Early on, a giant is the only real problem because of the reach and AOE of his club smash. Even harder dragons, OMG dragons, dragon lords, real dragons, is that even a dragon-dragon mods, dragons are a push over. They all circle, they all breath, they all pass over head. It may take longer and you can't stand still, but they fall easily. The longer a dragon lasts against your attacks, the better you get. It stays the same. Early on a warrior will not kill a dragon without a missile weapon. Later on both are deadly but with all the perks, benefits and equipment, a mage is AT BEST against a warrior, about 15-20% effective. A stealth player is deadly at any level. With all the magic resistance, the element resistance and all the other bonuses you can place on items, magic use against a player become water off a ducks back. So, I believe a warrior would give a better game experience, but like someone said, after level 35, if you can't kill everything the game throws at you, you are playing under restrictive condition or really don't have enough experience playing the game.

Here are a few, but like most things, you could debate what you would actually have... Praedo-Mancer : Thief Congero-Mancer : Thief Sicari-Mancer : Assassin Percusso-Mancer : Assassin Psaltae-Mancer : Bard Draco-Mancer : Dragon Born Dragontii-Mancer : Dragon Born Rustici-Mancer : Farmer Bundoni-Mancer: Farmer Ferarii-Mancer : Blacksmith Vinari-Mancer : Wine maker/Brewer Medica-Mancer : Healer Captori-Mancer : Hunter Venitori-Mancer : Hunter Latro-Mancer : Bandit Eque-Mancer : Horse Rider Comiti-Mancer : Companion Praefecti-Mancer : Jarl Satrapa-Mancer : Jarl Ebria-Mancer : Drunk Liberi-Mancer : Child Clerici-Mancer : Priest/Scribe If you like to see more, I think I could come up with some. :o)

You also forgot to mention that you MUST allow STEAMypile to be active and control your system if you want to even think about using the CK. If you really want to play free from STEAMypile, after you lunch your game in Offline mode, when the splash window to start the game comes up, open your task manager and kill the STEAMypile service. That will also net you an increase in FPS in the game. Funny how that works. It tells you about an error and delays starting about 1/2 a minute, but after its tantrum, your game runs fine.

Don't forget the ever popular NeXuMancer - the modder that can make anything possible.

Its sounds like your save game is corrupted. Find a save that is under say 15MB as fms1 has stated. Your save game files should not be that high. From posting about that mod, Its more then likely caused from several mods conflicting, bad mods you have loaded or mods removed that left nasty little remnants behind in your game file. If you don't have a save that falls near or below 15MB, you may need to start a new game. You can test this, play for 15 -20 minutes, and make a new save game file. Play another 15 0 29 minutes and make another. Then go see if your game filse size is increaseing even larger. If it is, then it is corrupted.

Dragonrend could save Tamriel again?
Brandy1123 replied to Dovahkiin069's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
hehehe, unless that incident is a catalyst that causes time sync to break down and engulf that time line. If it does work, look up Xaviar, She's just a typical red haired Bosmer anventurer seeking her fortunes near Bravil. If you get to her prior to the first gate appearing, Please convince her to NOT go into Anytwyll ruins without getting her shield first. please, please :o) -
It seems to me any number of answers here can lead to game copy violations. I think this question is best asked on the STEAMypile forums. That way you can hear from the people who control game access directly, and avoid issues on what is and isn't legal.

PharmakosChroster , What your patronization speaks of may be your game style, for you're Dovahkiin. In your own mind you see this as righteous. It is still hate and discontent. The average farmer is not on the uprise. Contrary, I speak of this with conviction, and knowledge. Before I was an adventurer, I worked on a farm, A family owned farm. I do know what farmers are thinking. You constantly speak of fear and hostilitly with a dark omenous overtone. If you bring that to your game, your skyrim will perish as you desparately hope for, probably as you have envisioned. The farmers of the Skyrim I belong to will unite. Infact, it is those same farmers that will be the backbone that ultimately prevent the overflow of vileness from the denizens of a gamestyle marketplace, such as yours. This is my last post under this topic. Say what you will about your game world. Elect to live in the dark and spread the malice play style you have elected to adhere to in your Skyrim world. Your game seems to have mod conflicts and all I fear about your world is that damage has been done to your game files. There is little help for your present load order. Maybe if you reload your entire game, it might be better next time around. I certainly am glad to have had this conversation. :o) Good luck in your world!! ((( PharmakosChroster )))

I dislike STEAMypile for many reasons. This is among them. Many people think STEAMypile is wonderful. It's not. From what I know as my own personal testing is this. You need to have a legal copy of the game. (I don't care where you play, you need to have a legal copy of any media you use, period). Then you need to allow STEAMypile LET you load all the updates it tells you to take and how you must love them for it. After you launch the game (online) let it open up a save or new game, then close out the game. Goto your STEAMypile (spyware) main page and select "Start in Offline Mode". Then close out STEAMypile's page. At this point you can disconnect yourself from the internet. STEAMYpile serivce still needs to be running at this point. You must select start in offline mode at the querry window. If you don't, you will never be able to run the game until you again log into STEAMypile. If you want to play without intervention from STEAMypile , once you get the Skyrim game window (the small window where you can selecet game options, start game etc, you can tab out, kill STEAMypile services and let the game continue. You will get a "We hate you for not letting STEAMypile run" window, but it does not affect your game. It only slows down the initial game load by about 45 seconds while it throws a tantrum.

Dragonrend could save Tamriel again?
Brandy1123 replied to Dovahkiin069's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I imagine if you could control one of the 3 available Elder Scrolls (if they aren't actually the same one at different times - or multiple ones interchanging) / You could set yourself back to before the Emporers assassination, you could blink into that phase of time, prevent the incident, and whole mess would never transpire. But, you have to think, what ripples in time would that cause? Maybe only 1 timeline exists fluidly enough to contimue past a specific "historical" significant event. Its possible, that by changing the events of a timeline, you in effect, destroy its ability to proceed. When you went back through the rift to get the Dragonrend shout, you didn't affect the events outcome, you witnessed it and carried forward knowledge because of it. Did it affect time? Yes, but from the point you returned - Unless that was the opened lock that prevented time from swallowing up this existance. Afterall, you did send the World Eater back into the rift, and time, did move forward. -
OOHhhhhh, I so agree with this. I think you then should get the better follower mod and get yourself 2 or 3 NPS's to inflict with Porphyric Hemophilia and you are well on your way to a Witches Coven. All you need then, is to find some hidey hole place to call home. Preferrably just outside a town or village.

Unlocking the door gets you past that point, but does not advance the questline

@ PharmakosChroster - Your death and destruction declaration is amusing. Just like the occupation at the market I described. Peacefull change was never on the agenda. A Jarl that governs by fear will neither have the love, respect or the backing of the kingdom. When you run your kingdom by fear and oppresion, when the freebies run out, you will get your chaos. I gaurantee if you are not on the top rung of the anrachy ladder, you too will be swallowed up by the new machine. From reading your previous posts, I see you are quite and in depth thinking person. Do you not think these people in the market causing the trouble are not puppets? Tools to be consumed and discarded as waste. As citizens in this kingdom, you can chose to not be led like a pig by a nose ring. You can think for yourself and become what you strive for. Things are not perfect in this kingdom, how much worse will it be when there is no law governing the whole of the realm? To talk about the Dovah's destructive path is nonsense. Fair wages in a free market is what governs how much monetary compensation a merchant can offer the workers he has hired. Fair market is not what you want, its what society deems an item is worth, be it sword, vestment, or abode. If you don't like how much you are offered, you have the option to not sell it or take your trade to another village. That is your choice, not a conscripted law. If you opt to take a low wage to work as a servant, that is also a choice. You are not bound to stay there. Life in Skyrim is not easy, But anyone who calls themself an adventurer can take an arrow in the knee. Its not the Dovahkiins fault you fell on hard times. pick yourself up, stop having a pity party, and move forward. You don't have to forget you were beaten up outside of Markarth, but don't dwell on it. Learn from it and move on. The forsworn comparitive threat that you speak of is nothing. It is a fear tactic. a lot of citizens in good standing also carry swords. Villages across skyrim are capable and will push back these agressors. If a war broke out between kingdoms, it would not be a pretty ENB lanscape, but it will not last. As a history buff, you should know this. People who speak in fear and threats make me giggle. Because I find humor in the what if's about declarations of hate and anarchy, does not mean that I am not prepared. I love my beloved Skyrim and will defend as I can if this movement comes to my hold. My sword is sharp. My armor is at hand. My friends and fellow villagers, also, are many.
-
Why should I move. Just vote the Jarl out of the hold. Then he can try and find his own adventure anywhere but here. He can take his house karl, his advisor and the chair he sits in with him. By the Nines, we'll have to fumigate for skeevers when he finally leaves. Hopefully he doesn't try to occupy the market district with a gaggle of other thieving beggers and prevent hardworking townsfolk from purchasing much needed goods.

I don't understand why you'd think about doing that, much less posting and bragging about it. If we don't provide by product cost (as a monetary ammount), we will be looking at the last game we will ever see published. If you can't afford it right now, save up and work for it or borrow the money if you need it that bad. We all would like things for free, but like us, developers are providing a living for themselves and their loved ones. If you want Skyrim for free, wait til it becomes abandon-ware in about 12 years. Then you can goto tucows/cnet or somewhere and download Win7BOX and load it up like some of us do for old abandoned dos games. :teehee: In the mean while, if you count the cost of a game, about $60 (US) per game. With hours played (LOW estimate 1200 hours) thats about 5 cents an hour for your entertainment...wait for it, wait for it - 1201 hours - recalculating 4.995836 cents per hour. This game just gets cheaper and cheaper everytime you play
