Yes that will advance the quest. What it won't do is fix the problem that caused the quest to break. More times then not, if 1 quest breaks, more will follow. Advancing by means of the console should only be used as a last resort if you want to play somewhat immersively.

That temp is severly dangerous to your system. Cleaning your fans are a good idea, but that isn't going to fix your problem. Depending on the memory of your 240, you could in fact handle some of the high end "HD" mods. You have a lot of scripted mods listed. Seeing whats listed, you have also lead me to believe you have removed others. Since you are having issues like you are, and pushing your PC beyonds its limitations, I would suggest a reload before you damage your hardware by thermal breakdown. Some of your other temps don't look right, so the thermister might not be registering it properly anyways.
The thermal paste is a great idea. If you've never done it, I suggest looking it up on google or somewhere. If you do decide to proceed with that, get quality paste or in 3 months (or less) you'll be back again with other thermal problems. If you are overclocking, reduce it down. That video card, although not bad, is not even a middle range card by standards of today. If you plan on keeping what you have in working condition, the reload wil lallow you to slowly add mods, checking your system and game stability.
Hardware damamge is much more expensive to replace then a 4 hours facepalm looking at STEAMypile and all the wonderful help you get over there.
Good luck Wonksters. :)

Existing things in the world take time to overwrite or replace. Try leaving the area you are in for 30 in game days. I have no idea what the mod does you are talking about, but the 30 day barrier seems to fix a lot of spawn type issues. It is possible you may have to start a new game to fully see the changes, or you did not follow (if any) all the directions from the Mod Author. Leave notice on the Authors page and ask the qustion to the one who could answer it best - usually.

I have very fond memories of Oblivion. As for the DLC's. Slobbering Isles was one of the worst. Even Bethesda couldn't keept its lore straight. I was a Big fan of OOO overhaul and a string of others I burned to DVD jsut so I never had to hunt them down again. Rens work was simply beautiful and required for my gameplay. So many good modders, like now, step up to the plate and give us more then we ever imagined. That is the best DLC you could ever dream of getting. A showcase for future game designers to hone their skills on.

I think most people's complaints aren't really in the stability of the game engine. What I think is the root casue of most disgruntled players (by that I mean people who purchased their game) would be what we recieved. On 11-11-11 we were given a DX 9 game. It was written exclusively for a game console the was 9+ years old. There is no doubt about the game's immensity, depth and content. The fact that we CAN mod our game to our hearts treasued content it wonderful. The problem is, we as PC users were not given a current technological masterpiece. We have struggled with menu's, input devices, drivers, bloated code and a game that should never have been released in its present state, as a PC game. We also need to be connected to an intrusive launch platform to run your purchased game (even to run the game offline you have to go online to do it, and you still need their services running afterwords). To run the Creation Kit, your system MUST be connected to STEAMypile and you are forced to take their updates regardless of your intended wants. If you elect to launch or download the CK, you ability to decide about updates become obsolete.
I have a lot of game troubleshooting behind me, mod load order evaluation, and mod tester. I have over 1500 hours in game and still do not consider myself an expert. I just have a lot of in game experience. IMHO if it weren't for the NEXUS modders, this game would have been dead by last February.
I played TES -IV Oblivion for a similar number of hours under similar circumstances. I have not loaded it since 2 weeks prior to Skyrim's release. I Also played Morrowind, but not near the time or indepth game play. Bethesda has lead the pack for a bigger, more expansive and freedom filled worlds. I think they missed the mark on this ported and dumbed down version we recieved.
-
For same reason you are unable to skip the intro 10 minutes of rediculous scripted monotony. It counts towards the "Hours" of game play companies can boast about.
I am not saying here that on the first few runs through it is not entertaining or does not fit in or give you really good history/storyline/quest info. I am just implying that it should not be forced on the player to have to sit through it time and again if the player so wishes.
The game was written for a game console. they are limited on what they can do. The ported thing we call a PC version has the same limitations. It never was written for PC users and it never was the intent to give the PC community a product of todays technology or g aming options. (menu's, input devices, mouse, AA/rendering.. on and on)
Yes I find a lot of things "face-palmish" and yes the game is a really good game. It could have been a Great game.

This is a tought question to answer. The more you think about all the games you've played, the more memories of each come to mind.
Number 1 all time : Ultima Online : Pre-expansion
2 : Mechwarrior 4
3 : ES 4 - Oblivion
4 : Heroes in the Sky
( wow, all games that do NOT require STEAMypile)
-
OOOhhhh this is a nice little bit of nostolgia.
Grand Prize : Original Relase of Ultima Online (Pre-expansion)
Runner ups
1: Masters of Orion 2
2: Warcraft 1
3: Rules of Engagement (RoE)
4: Jumpman
5: Loadrunner
6: Wing Commander 1/2
7: Castles
8 : Vikings
9: Choplifter
a : Adventure
All of these can still be played on DosBox emulator.

The marriage event has always been bugged from the game's release. With all the follower mods adding to the mix and the mods that change marriage and adds divorce, what was JUST somewhat unstable, is now rediculously fragile - at best. If you have multiple followers from any means, or mods that affect NPC reaction, these could be your problem. Also, be aware that any jewelry/amulet changing mod that affects the amulet of Mara could also be a problem.
With Dawnguard came a game update. Some of the mods you use might be conflicting with changes Dawnguard made. If you are completely sure about when the problem happened, then you have some hunting to do in your loaded mods.

I found or verified that several of the quickstarts, different starts, prostitution mods, or other character "scripting" mods can and does affect quests negatively. You can try and disable the ESM/ESP of some of these and see if it helps. I have not had an issue with quests breaking from race mods or the beauty type mods ... yet.

The respawn is 10 game days. However, it is 10 game days outside the cell. I have come to the conclusion that if you enter the cell withing that time period, the 10 days counter restart once you leave the region again.

Looking at some of the last few posts. a lot of good points and ideas. Maybe if Nexus had a category or icon like for PM's and Mail notifications that showed how many MOD's you have not responded to would be useful. It could have a drop down menu to click "endorse" or "ignore" - or something similar. It would be non-intrusive and a freindly reminder to follow up on some Mod you tried or still use.
-
Mr Bravo - I would hope the users leave some feed back. Hopefully positive or at least respectfully worded criticism or questions/requests. The only reason I posted this topic was I just started looking at the more heavily downloaded mods and the number of endorsements, then worked my way down from there. As a modder, I know it must make you feel somewhat justified in all the effort when you get positive feedback of anykind. I just want to bring to light this fact to those who have neglected for whatever reason to give some credit where it is much over due.
I always thank the author of a mod I use. Talented people, like yourself and many others give our games years of extended pleasure.
-
Some things posted here are exactly my point. We are too lazy to log back in (say less then a minute) and click a little box. We get hundreds and thousands of dollars in value added content and think nothing to turn your nose at the person who worked to give it to us. Is a minute of our time not worth all the added treasures and pleasures we get for nothing? With even just the unique D/L of the NMM, there should an incredible increase in endorsements daily. It only takes 2 mouse clicks to endorse a mod if NMM is opened. TWO. Thats about as much energy as the cheese coloring on your finger left over from the cheese curls - AFTER you wipe it on your pant leg.
How much happier would we be if the rest of the great and talented modders just left? We should all be ranting at people to do this. If you care enough for the mod to keep it your load order for longer then a few days, then it deserves an endorsement. I just don't understand people wanting something for nothing - at someone elses expense.
-
I am confused as to how so many people can download all this FREE content from Nexus and never give an endorsement to the mod's Author. This costs absolutely nothing. Everytime you open NMM just go down the list and endorse one or two. We need to do something positive instead of just belittle every modder's effort here. For the sake of us all, please give a little respect and curtesy back to the writers of what keep us all coming back.
If you dislike these mods so much you cant make 4 mouse clicks, then you should be playing vanilla, or go get an X-BOX. Let people know you like what they are doing. It takes such little effort to get so much enjoyment.

Once you learn attack angles, line of sight blocking, terrain navigation and movement, there are very few things in skyrim (or most any game) you ever need to wory about. Early on, a giant is the only real problem because of the reach and AOE of his club smash. Even harder dragons, OMG dragons, dragon lords, real dragons, is that even a dragon-dragon mods, dragons are a push over. They all circle, they all breath, they all pass over head. It may take longer and you can't stand still, but they fall easily. The longer a dragon lasts against your attacks, the better you get. It stays the same.
Early on a warrior will not kill a dragon without a missile weapon. Later on both are deadly but with all the perks, benefits and equipment, a mage is AT BEST against a warrior, about 15-20% effective. A stealth player is deadly at any level. With all the magic resistance, the element resistance and all the other bonuses you can place on items, magic use against a player become water off a ducks back. So, I believe a warrior would give a better game experience, but like someone said, after level 35, if you can't kill everything the game throws at you, you are playing under restrictive condition or really don't have enough experience playing the game.

You also forgot to mention that you MUST allow STEAMypile to be active and control your system if you want to even think about using the CK. If you really want to play free from STEAMypile, after you lunch your game in Offline mode, when the splash window to start the game comes up, open your task manager and kill the STEAMypile service. That will also net you an increase in FPS in the game. Funny how that works. It tells you about an error and delays starting about 1/2 a minute, but after its tantrum, your game runs fine.

Don't forget the ever popular
NeXuMancer - the modder that can make anything possible.

Its sounds like your save game is corrupted. Find a save that is under say 15MB as fms1 has stated.
Your save game files should not be that high. From posting about that mod, Its more then likely caused from several mods conflicting, bad mods you have loaded or mods removed that left nasty little remnants behind in your game file. If you don't have a save that falls near or below 15MB, you may need to start a new game.
You can test this, play for 15 -20 minutes, and make a new save game file. Play another 15 0 29 minutes and make another. Then go see if your game filse size is increaseing even larger. If it is, then it is corrupted.

hehehe, unless that incident is a catalyst that causes time sync to break down and engulf that time line.
If it does work, look up Xaviar, She's just a typical red haired Bosmer anventurer seeking her fortunes near Bravil. If you get to her prior to the first gate appearing, Please convince her to NOT go into Anytwyll ruins without getting her shield first. please, please :o)

It seems to me any number of answers here can lead to game copy violations. I think this question is best asked on the STEAMypile forums. That way you can hear from the people who control game access directly, and avoid issues on what is and isn't legal.

PharmakosChroster , What your patronization speaks of may be your game style, for you're Dovahkiin. In your own mind you see this as righteous. It is still hate and discontent. The average farmer is not on the uprise. Contrary, I speak of this with conviction, and knowledge. Before I was an adventurer, I worked on a farm, A family owned farm. I do know what farmers are thinking. You constantly speak of fear and hostilitly with a dark omenous overtone. If you bring that to your game, your skyrim will perish as you desparately hope for, probably as you have envisioned. The farmers of the Skyrim I belong to will unite. Infact, it is those same farmers that will be the backbone that ultimately prevent the overflow of vileness from the denizens of a gamestyle marketplace, such as yours.
This is my last post under this topic. Say what you will about your game world. Elect to live in the dark and spread the malice play style you have elected to adhere to in your Skyrim world. Your game seems to have mod conflicts and all I fear about your world is that damage has been done to your game files. There is little help for your present load order. Maybe if you reload your entire game, it might be better next time around. I certainly am glad to have had this conversation. :o)
Good luck in your world!!

Skyrim runs too FAST
in Skyrim LE

This happened to me a few days ago. Once the problem started, I needed to go back a few game saves to get rid of the problem. The corrupted save file did not show any issues with game size and there was nothing noted in my log files. It also happened about a day after Dawnstar DLC and the upgrade.
For anyone else reading this, how it appears is if you are just playing in high speed. Your walk is faster then a normal run and your running is funny ridiculous. Changing the time scale makes no difference. The only change I had made to my game was to load an ENB. Once I had reloaded an ealier game save, the game worked fine with the ENB still loaded.
