Right, I'm on this process now! I've done the SSEE-edit stuff (doing great so far!), and I'm ready to open the game. I do have a quick question though - Do I still need to move over all of the relevant files (such as 0001C196.nif) to SKSE>Chargen? Or has editing the .esp with ssee-edit 'unlocked' them in the game, so I don't need to move any files around? If I do have to move files, which ones do I actually need to move? 0001C196.nif obviously, but any of the other nifs or ddss? Apologies for 'dumb' questions, I'm very new to this! Also, heh your Brelyna looks fantastic! How long did that take you to rework an npc like that!?
-
Wow, dang, I really, really cannot thank you enough. It's getting late here now, but tomorrow I'll follow these instructions and finally get it working! Really, I've been fighting with this all night and I never would have done what you've mentioned in a thousand years, so it's a huge help. It feels kinda bad writing such a short response to your long and amazingly detailed post. But yeah, genuinely thank you.
-
Thanks for the response! I haven't actually tried this, as on the mod page it specifically states - ''You cannot edit the character while the appearance is being copied. Don't open the character edit menu.'' Also, in the comments on the mod, one of the first comments (third one down) mentions trouble doing just this - ''At first I wanted it to copy an NPC's appearance onto my character, but quickly found out it's impossible to tweak my char to my liking in racemenu (whatever changes you make are applied on top of the copied appearance, so for example if you want to change your char's hair, it looks like you now have two sets of hair)'' So it sounds like a bit of a lost cause doesn't it? Although if you're saying it can work then I can certainly give it a shot! edit: oh right, you're saying I could just clone the appearance, and not have it as a preset. Apologies, I'm tired! Annoyingly though, I would want to make some tweaks, so I really do need a preset to work from.

Hi there, Question is pretty much in the title. But I'm playing the Anniversary Edition, and I'm trying to get my player character to look like Brelyna from Bijin's Warmaidens mod. And frankly, I'm failing at every hurdle. I've tried copying over the .nif and .dds files into SKSE>Chargen. However, I'm not completely sure exactly which files I should be copying over, as for example, there are three 'femalehead.dds' in different folders. How do I know which one Brelyna uses? Using Racemenu, when I load the sculpt '0001C196.nif' - (which I believe is the relevant Brelyna one from the mod) lots of parts are shown as red in the import matcher, and my characters face simply doesn't change at all. So before all that, I was trying to use Alternate Actors to simply 'play as Brelyna' then save the appearance as a preset. But I couldn't get Alternate Actors to even load up in the game, I'm not sure if it's working with the Anniversary Edition. Since then I've been trying to get Proteus to work, to do more-or-less the same thing, although I'm not having any success with that either. It loads up in game, but when I 'control the npc' - I can't actually control them, it locks me out of everything apart from the 'esc' key. It feels like this should be a relatively simple thing to do, but I've been messing around for hours now and gotten absolutely nowhere. So any help would be hugely appreciated. Thanks for reading!

Hey guys, Just wondering if anybody has made a mod to completely remove Tiefling horns? So there's absolutely no horns at all, not even the stump of the horns that you see in the vanilla 'hornless' option. I haven't seen anything on the nexus, but I might have missed it. Honestly, if it's reasonably easy to do I wouldn't mind giving it a shot myself, I've done a little modding in the past, although nothing with Baldur's Gate 3. But if it's a mammoth task then I guess I'll just have to do without. It just seems strange that it isn't an option, not all tieflings in D&D have horns! I've exactly the same issues with the tails too, so the same question applies. I understand all this is a shot in the dark, I just thought the least I could do was ask about. Thanks for reading!

Hi everybody, Question is pretty much in the title - but is there a way to, for example, swap my Inquisitor's face for a companion's one? I.e. Cassandra, or Sera, or whoever. I know in Dragon Age Origins it's so easy to do, but I haven't seen anything similar with Inquisition. I believe I read of a way to use a companion face texture on your inquisitor. But I'm talking about about the entire face, the shape, exactly as they look. If it's not possible or very difficult then that's fair enough, I just thought I'd quickly ask here in case I've missed something. Thanks for reading! Any information would be much appreciated :)

Hey everyone, Question is pretty much in the title. I'm sure that ages and ages ago I was able to play one of the Mass Effect games (or all of them, can't remember) using a squadmate's model in place of Shepard's one. I could play the whole game looking like Liara, or Jack, or Tali or whoever. Does anybody remember what this mod was? Does it still work for Legendary Edition? (I'm pretty sure it wouldn't). Is there a similar mod for Legendary Edition? I want an asari playthrough :D Thanks for reading and any info would be hugely appreciated!

Hey everybody, The question is pretty much in the title - but I'm wondering if there is a mod to completely remove any and all appearance changes that happen when you become a vampire? For example, I'd like to create a normal Breton character - have them become a vampire - and have them look identical to how they looked when I created them. No sunken face, no skin tone change, no different or glowing eyes - just exactly the same as before. I'm a little gobsmacked I couldn't find a mod which does this. I feel I must be missing something. From what I understand, there are two mods 'Cosmetic Vampire Overhaul' and 'Vampire Facial Reclamation' - which do a sort of similar thing to what I'm asking. But frankly the mod descriptions are a little confusing, and I don't believe either of those mods removes all changes. If such a mod doesn't exist, would someone perhaps point in the direction of what I'd have to do to do this for myself? I used the Creation Kit a few years back, I'm sure I could pick it up again. Thanks so much for reading. EDIT: Alright, after quite some faffing around - I've managed to get my character looking identical to how she did before vampirism. Here's how I did it, in case anybody is interested: 1). Installed Vampire Face Reclamation. That fixed the sunken features, but left me with the vampire eyes. 2). I found my favourite eye texture, copied it (twice) and renamed the copies eyevampire_01 and eyevampire_02 - I then put these copies in textures\actors\character. This fixed the eye color, but the eyes still glowed. ( I have no idea if you need both eyevampire_01 and 02, but I did them both just to be safe.) 3). I downloaded Bethesda Archive Extractor from the nexus, and using that, extracted Skyrim - Meshes0 from the data folder. I didn't actually extract the whole thing, only 'eyesfemale.nif'. 4). Made a copy of eyesfemale.nif, renamed it to eyesfemalevampire and put it in meshes\actors\character assets 5). Done! My character now looks identical. However, I'm (99%) sure I've changed the eyes of all vampires in the game. I have no clue how to make it only effect my character, or if it's even possible without creating a custom race. So this method is hardly perfect.

Hey everyone, Very quick question, it's pretty much in the title. After quite a lot of browsing, I'm surprised I can't find a mod to completely remove tiefling horns in character creation - maybe I'm being blind? Is there a mod around which does this somehow? Thanks for reading! Any info would be appreciated, cheers!

How to create custom eye texture?
Forechosen replied to Forechosen's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Builder Troubleshooting
Ok - ok, I think I've discovered something. I've been experimenting with using the different animal eye textures in ''https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/3748?tab=description'' this mod. What I can see is that whilst they are appearing in game, it is almost like the original iris's from character creation are appearing over/under them. Sort of like the original iris's are still there, just at 50% opacity or something. I THINK this means that whilst I'm applying different textures, I am not removing the original tint? Which gives the eyes the colours? Which would then explain why I can see the snake eye (and other animal textures) - but when I go to pure black, the original blue eye (tint?) is still appearing 'over the top'. This is all conjecture, but does that explain it? How would I go about removing this original tint? EDIT: GOT IT WORKING. I was right, the original character creation blue tint was showing through, therefore being really obvious on a pure black eye. To remove the tint, on the GFF editor, on your .mor file, under MORPH_TINTFILENAMES > '2' > type in '?'. I've got to say, that this was explained in the first link that 'theskymoves' sent me. I was simply following some later instructions in that thread, rather than putting two and two together and understanding the whole thing. So, real apologies for dragging this out so long. But hopefully this may help somebody else attempting the same thing. All done and dusted now. phew. -
How to create custom eye texture?
Forechosen replied to Forechosen's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Builder Troubleshooting
Right, after some more playing around.. again I've made a tiny bit of leeway, but I'm still lost. On the plus side, I managed to get one texture working absolutely perfectly. One of the animal eyes (a snake eye texture) in ''https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/3748?tab=description'' this mod. To do this, I did the following: 1. Downloaded the animal eye set, and extracted the folder to my override 2. Extracted my character's .mor using the DAFace Replacer. 3. Using the Toolset GFF Editor, I opened up the .mor, and went to MORPH_NODES > line 28 > MORPH_TEXTUREPARAM > MORPH_TEXTURE_NAME - and put in the name of the eye texture I wanted to test, in this case, I put in exactly ''pn_eye_SJC_blksnake2_0d''. 4. Saved the now edited .mor to my override. (let's say I saved it as myface1.mor) 5. Loaded up a save game in the GFF editor. Went to SAVEGAME_PLAYERCHAR > SAVEGAME_PLAYERCHAR_CHAR > SAVEGAME_APPEARANCE > SAVEGAME_APPEARANCE_MORPH_NAME - and put in the name of the .mor I'd just saved, so I put in exactly ''myface1''. 6. Saved it the file. And perfect! My character, in game, had this snake eye texture (which incidentally also has a black sclera). I thought now, amazing! I'm close! So the first thing I did was make a copy of the snake texture I had just used, and, opening up the copy on GIMP, simply painted over the whole image with black, to make it completely black. I renamed the file and then repeated the instructions above - aaaaand, didn't work. In game, the eyes now have my original blue iris's from character creation, except this time, they have a black sclera!? So I figure I must be doing something wrong in GIMP. Surely, if the Snake Eye texture worked, and the only thing I've done differently is to black out that texture in GIMP, that must be where I'm going wrong. Now, browsing through my downloaded eye textures, I come across a completely black eye texture (exactly what I'm looking for!) in ''Lunas HD Eyes'' (I don't know where I downloaded this from, it's not on Nexus now) - the texture is pn_eye_lunajetblack.dds. I now follow the instructions above, repeating exactly what I originally did, which WORKED for the Snake Eye texture - I load up the game, and bam - same issue as above, original blue eyes with a black sclera. I mean... what? In summary: 1. Downloaded Snake Eye texture - Working 2. Edited Black Snake Eye texture - not working 3. Downloaded Black eye texture - not working..... all following the same method. I am so lost! -

How to create custom eye texture?
Forechosen replied to Forechosen's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Builder Troubleshooting
I gotta say, I'm still at a complete loss. I've followed those instructions in my previous post down to the letter, repeatedly, and can't seem to get it to work. I've even downloaded some other eye textures (some colourful ones, just to see if I can notice a difference) - and every time I load up the save now, after following those instructions, I have plain black iris'/pupils and a white sclera. Even if I'm putting a bright pink eye texture in to .mor/save. I have absolutely no clue where I'm going wrong. The eye texture is supposed to be in your Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\packages\core\override isn't it? edit: the eye textures appear to be working fine in the toolset, if I create a new morph, everything looks as it should do. The thing is, I really don't want to create a morph from scratch - I really like one of my in-game presets already. EDIT: I think where I was going wrong here was putting the eye texture name in the wrong line of the .mor file, in the GFF editor. I was putting it on MORPH_NODES > line 28 > NAME. Where if you look at the last post I've written in this thread, where I got a texture working, it is supposed to be on MORPH_NODES > line 28 > MORPH_TEXTUREPARAM > MORPH_TEXTURE_NAME. -
How to create custom eye texture?
Forechosen replied to Forechosen's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Builder Troubleshooting
Hi again... xD Firstly thanks so much for trying to help, I am progressing, but I'm still not quite there yet. Alright, so I've got my completely black .dds file. I followed ''IamDarkPhoenix's'' instructions on the thread you mentioned, I will just copy and paste them here - -- I used the Dragon Age Face Re-placer ( http://www.nexusmods...nage/mods/428/?) to extract the .mor file from a game I had saved Changed the eye texture on line #28 (thank you olnorton & theskymoves) using the DAToolSet GFF Editor saved the .mor file and placed it in my Override folder Then opened the savegame went to savegame_playerchar >> savegame_playerchar_char >> savegame_appearance >> savegame_appearance_morph_name Added the name of the .mor on that line Saved the File''-- Right, so that all worked great except basically the problem is now - only the iris/pupils of my character are jet black. Not the sclera, that is still white as usual. Have you got any idea why that might be? I'm at a complete loss. I mean I clearly did change the eyes, the eyes aren't missing now or anything.. they're different. It's just the black isn't covering them completely. Once again, thank you very much for your time! -
How to create custom eye texture?
Forechosen replied to Forechosen's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Builder Troubleshooting
Ok, I have a question xD So - I now have a pure black .dds file, which I think is all I need? My question is, how do I now assign that to my character in game? I've got as far as opening up my character's .mor in the toolset. I believe that MORPH PARTS - 1, is the 'eye model' line. But is the eye model the same as the texture? I tried putting my .dds file in the override (let's call it blackeyes.dds) and changing the aforementioned morph parts line to 'blackeyes' - aaaand upon loading my save my character had (terrifyingly) no eyes at all. Not quite sure what to do now - I'm completely learning as I'm going here, so please excuse me sounding so ignorant!
