  1. Whenever I click on a topic in the forums the top half of my screen goes blank. Scrolling does not solve this problem. I can neither endorse images or mods. Anybody have a solution or is this a function only allowed to premium subscribers?
  2. VpCxj-air-fight system provides animated wings for the player as well as providing (automatically) wings for humanoid NPC's (attackers). The wings, as far as I can figure out are bat wings only, although in one of his screen shots there seems to be feathered wings as well?!...I don't know if it will work with Alexanders wings.
  3. Actually, I would prefer a mod which allows Fangs as a cosmetic face modification for all of the primary races, vanilla and otherwise. Hairs, eyes, breasts, skin tones, etc., have been done for years but I have not seen any mods which provide a solution for this request. Vampire players have wanted this but I would prefer it as a selectable "beautification" not necessarily linked to vampirism. In various screen shots (and some few mods) I have noted that some people have solved this problem...but those screenies are few and far between. Resources are available, but difficult to find and my lack of skill in their use is frustrating. I am sure that this topic must have been discussed. Can anyone provide a solution?
  4. I love the Appachii Goddess Store, but in it's current form it is just too powerfull for my machine. My Character can barely move around and can't even go into the basement. I hate to ask it but could each of the various Goddess's be given their own store? I know that would be pretty hard to do. Could someone suggest some alternate stores?
  5. In game, to get into an NPC's inventory: use this spell: Active Inventory Spell (php 17497). Here is a suggestion for evil characters...a substitute for mannequins.

Use the above and the following spells together: Hilarity (specifically Ressurect and Follow Me), Invoke Mara (from Ancient Towers (php 16308), and Dungeon Poses (php 32512). Using these spells you can use humanoid characters which you have killed and/or, if you prefer, CM Partners as animated mannequins.

  6. This would be for higher level characters. Your character accidentally triggers a teleport to an enclosed world space minus weapons, clothing and armor. This location would be...you guessed it...The Mall. Unlike actual malls you must make enough money to leave (instead of leaving without any money}. There are various ways to earn gold but this place is very expensive. The longer you stay, the less you have. While teleports would work this mod is based on "Time". In other words you can take a vacation from the mall, but sooner or later your gonna wind up right back,...as in teleported in the same condition as before. Finally, no matter how much money you bring, the prices for items would be adjusted by what you do have and will cost 100 to 1000 times more than normal. Call it inflation. Before we describe the money making methods let's list the shops:

    1) Clothing: Apachii Goddess and Hero's, Slof's various stores, Divine Elegance, the Gap plus any others you can think of.

    2) Sporting Goods: Lower end weapons and armor. Best Defense as an example.

    3) Pet Store: cats, dogs, horses, werewolves, dragons, etc.,...any you can name we'll hire someone to fetch and tame.

    4) Hardware store: to fix broken armor and open locks, and see in the dark etc.,..

    5) Jewelry Store: high end enchanted rings and amulets...if you have the money.

    6) Bank: to store what pitiful amount of gold you can save. Of course you can try and rob it (altho lately it's been the other way around)

    7) Security: for the thief who gets caught trying to rob the Bank.

7a)Lawyers Office: To bail out the bankers attempting to rob the thief.

    8) Hiring Hall: here you can hire yourself out for different jobs (greeter, cashier, underwear model, politician) or hire others as companions.

    9) Guild Hall: here, different guilds will attempt to recruit you. If your rep. is high you get a signing bonus.

    10) Book Store: books and scrolls. All books are magical.

    11) Hotel: dead center of the world space and very expensive and luxurious. (Hotel California?..."you can check out but you can never leave...")

    12) Electronics Store: for those arcane items with instructions in different languages.

    13) Beauty Shop: change your appearance or get a tattoo.

    14) Tax Assessors Office: you have to pay your breathing tax (daily or by the week).

    15) Drug Store: potions galore.

    16) Lingerie Shop: do I have to paint you a picture?

    17) Art Store: where I have to paint you a picture.

    18) Dance Club: Colorwheels comes to my mind where I can't seem to shake it...literally, I can't shake it.

    19) Saloon: as in Callahan's Crosstime (wonder why nobody's ever done that?)You may get shanghaied by Dr. Who in his Tardis.

    20) Pawn Shop: for anything you don't actually need, such as the shirt on your back.

    21) Real Estate Office: ORE comes to mind or should you accidentally get enough gold you may want to open your own shop or live in a penthouse suite.

    22) Temple: you must pay your temple tithe (daily or by the week).

    23) Public Baths: why you have to pay the temple tithe.

    24) Gymnasium: improve your stats.

    25) Wine and Smokes: destroy your stats.

    26) Restaurant: Hells Kitchen comes to mind. (so does Slof's devil... as Chef Ramsey...in an apron)

    27) Perfume Shop: become more attractive...temporarily.

    28) Furniture Store: what can I say, it's dead wood.

    29) Medical Insurance: purchase your Health Care Benefits here. If you become injured you are automatically teleported back to our ER where you are force fed potions of unknown origins. Sometimes when you don't need them.

and so on and so forth.

You can make money by going on quests and adventures (vacations)...but, after a specific length of time, you always end up back in the same old place. Until...you finally have enough money to have yourself stamped and mailed...at the Post Office...and that's painful. TANSTAAFL everybody.

Well, this is an old silly idea but it would tie together a lot of very creative mods and quests. Tell me what you think or just get a laugh. Or maybe I'll just laugh at what you think. Either way, let's go play...Oblivion!

  7. Soo I have been lately trying to start working on a mod. I have been having tons of idieas from epic story quests to impossible arenas. But i doubt i could do any of those projects alone. Specially without using any kind of scripts.

Soo i came with this one called Castle Wars. The name says it. The player will be able to get a ruined and deserted castle wich contains a village, barracks, stables, blacksmight and much more. The player then haves to rebuild the castle and get people for he's village and recruit soldiers. This would allow the player to actually become a king, having he's own village to take care and he's own private army. This looks very interesting the first time, but what would you do with an army? I was thinking of adding more Castles owned by NPC making the player having wars with these other kings. Creating Epic Scale battles. Or i was thinking of also making some Bandit Raiding Partys or goblin partys attacking the player's castle wich he would then have to defend or loose he's castle.

    Some Features:

-The Player would have to rebuild the entire castle and village again.

-The soldiers would be made using the CM Partners mod wich allows the player to actually command he's army!

-The Village could have some quests for the player to do for the village.

-You can give any equipment to your soldiers.

-The soldier recruitment would be trought a special NPC that could gather other NPC with their own skills. Example: You want archers. Just tell the NPC to find some people that are good with bows. And then they could train at your castle to lvl up their skills.

-Take your army EVERYWHERE. Soo if you want to assault a cave with 20 man, you can.

I've always wanted something like this in Oblivion. I think other people would want it aswell. :)

But now i need your opinions on this. :)

  8. If it can be done it would be great, but you know if he's asking us about it he's probably already done it, at least in his head. I suppose you could only use it on certain things. Wouldn't be possible for a lot of armor and shields. Animated flags and pennants would be the place to start, I suppose. Horse barding might also be relatively easy and surcoats for companions. I like the idea of squires.
  9. To grmblf: Thank you for the information. To clarify a bit, the SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism) is an international non-profit group of historical reenactors. They create personas, build armor, make period clothing and fight with blunted weapons among many other things. What we play at they try to live. However, back to topic, their members research, create, and submit heraldric designs to their own registry, stringently following heraldric rules. Each approved submission is unique. What I was trying to suggest is that we emulate their idea. To create a registry of unique devices submitted by players and if possible, display them on a website. In game, to display unique devices on shields, surcoats, bardic armor, flags and pennants? That would be very cool, but is it possible? The key word is unique. A museum is a brilliant idea but a College of Heraldry might be more interesting. Maybe there's a quest somewhere in that idea. Heralds, Squires and men at arms would be very cool.
  10. Here is a list of some old favorites: Also google TOQL (The Oblivion Quest List), and ORE (Oblivion Real Estate). Download the following one at a time and check to make sure they work with your system.

    23) Advanced Magecraft (allows ingame enchantment modifications to all items +)

    24) Multiple Enchantments (same as above but based on altar enchantments)

    25) Duplicate Item (does what it says)

  11. This is an excellant idea, however would you consider a structure based on the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) rules, ie.,..actual coats of arms based on heraldic rules? Duke Patrick, who I understand is an actual SCA King, would be the person to contact. The SCA coats of arms are actually registered coats of arms created by the participants and it remains their device for the rest of their lives. It would be nice to see a Heraldry website (perhaps with a person appointed as Herald as moderator) displaying actual coats of arms for players and it would certainly generate interest in the history of armoury. In addition, the artwork can be amazing. Please note, that the rules of heraldry are stringent, and the registration process can be lengthy. However, it would definitely be worth it.

I am not a modder but I think it would be difficult to reproduce an armorial device in the game, but a websight displaying each players Coat of Arms with a tutorial explaining how to create and register one would be excellant. Perhaps, of more interest in the game would be large animated flags and pennants for castles and strongholds.

  12. Ha! Did the same thing. The creature you killed was a Balrog...the only one I know of in the game. The cavern was Lord of the Rings themed but I don't know from what module or quest. Wouldn't mind meeting that monstor a few more times though. It was really sharp.
  13. Call me old fashioned...I like Glenvar Castle. Its large, with splendid views and an excellant quest line, NPC's, etc..,.. It isn't as overblown as Frostcrag Reborn or as polished as the Ancient Towers...but there is plenty of room for additions and improvements. It does have a huge courtyard, stables, men at arms, trainers, bathrooms etc.,.

This mod is suitable for good or evil players and when you finally complete it you will know you have earned it.

One final note: the quest line is quite difficult, the traps deadly, and secret doors everywhere. This will take some time to complete.

  14. Here are a few quest mods:

    1) Glenvar Castle: quest and player owned castle...a must have.

    2) Ivellon

    3) Werewolf: Legends of the North

    4) Dragon Invasion ll

    5) Verona House: Bloodlines

Note: TOQL has a very good list of quest mods

ORE (Oblivion Real Estate): is a list of some of the best house mods.

Fight a horde: ZOMBIES! 28 days and a bit.

    Clothing mods:

    1) Colorwheels stock clothing replacer: sexy clothing replacer for NPC's.

    2) Slofs male clothing

    3) Painbringer: extreme eyecandy armor for male and female.

    4) Slofs Giger armor.

    Weapons:

    1) Adonnays Elvish Weapons: some of the best looking weapons in the game.

  15. The only mod I know of that contains dragons is Dragon Invasion ll, a fairly difficult dungeon for a level 12. Without giving too much away, it is primarily a dungeon crawl, but with excellant loot. As for random encounters with drakes or dragons I just don't know why none were created. Indeed, the storyline of Dragon Invasion states that dragons are venerated and it is a crime to hunt them. If there are drakes in MMM I wasn't aware of them and may have to redownload it for the sheer novelty. For some amphibian fun (esp. at lower levels) you may want to download "WOGS" a better mod than its name suggests. (altho I don't know if it works with MMM). That mod randomly places Kommodo style dragons in the game. If you haven't noticed there does not really seem to be any flying monstors, dragons or otherwise. (Altho I sure wish someone would contradict me because I'd love to see it).
  16. How about this: A modified Dweomer Skyship as a movable lair for a powerfull Undead creature and the only way to kill the monstor is to board the ship from the air or attack from the air from the back of a flying mount (Akatosh Dragon). Might make a pretty good Quest for both. I am surprised that there does not seem to be any truly airborne monstors in Oblivion. Even undead creatures, such as Liches, and Ghosts do not have true flight capabilities and merely hover about dungeons. If these creatures had flight capability then they would certainly be more stealthy and dangerous. As for parachutes one is actually included in the Dweomer Skyship and it makes for a very good ride. The Dweomer Skyship actually can bombard creatures on the ground and I was thinking that it could be modified to bombard cities, roads and towns which would increase the quest difficulty level. Also since it would be movable that too would increase the difficulty(as in a chase). All of this could of course just as easily apply to sailing ships. Again Oblivion has very few underwater monstors although WOGS do come to mind. How about an evil race of Sirens and Tritons to populate the seas? I have heard of the Midas Nuclear Bomb...never used it...altho I have used "Hilarity" and some of those spells might as well be nuclear.
  17. In game, currently, there is melee fighting and spellcasting and mounted combat and spellcasting. However, I have not seen airborne or shipborne combat. Imagine this scenario, your character is captain of a dweomer skyship hurling fireballs at a rival captain on a different skyship. Throw in flying and/or parachuting soldiers, a dragon (Akatosh), and ground bombardment and you have a scenario new in Oblivion. Include the mod, "Burning Items" and you could have burning ships all over the sky. All of these ideas have been created but have never been tied together. Would it be possible to create a quest mod utilizing these ideas? Obviously, there would have to be modifications to the mods I listed and more besides. Does anyone have any ideas?
  18. Once upon a time there was an RPG that placed 19th century characters on wooden sailing ships (balloon/sail) travelling to the moon. Of course there were many factions and you could play a soldier, spy, etc.,..In vanilla Oblivion there are (2?) moons displayed in the night sky and many flying creatures. There is also a skyship. I think it would be interesting to explore a new moon with possibly hostile flying creaures there. Altho you may have to create a new form of combat: Airborne Combat. What do you think? Mounted spellcasting works pretty well, how about opposing skyships fighting it out. And there is always the akatosh mount (dragon). The mod, "Burning Items" could be used to burn sails, etc.,......

    36) Slofs Boners...original lance textures

    37) OBSE...oblivion script extender...an absolute must have

As you get more experience try the following mods: "Tears of the Fiend" and "Gates to Aasgard". They are quite long and difficult. Additionally, you may want to look at ORE (Oblivion Real Estate) for house mods. Try, also "BallOfFires Oblivion Mod List", in my opinion one of the best.

SOME UNASKED ADVICE: Unless you truly love resolving conflicts between mods and massive game overhauls I recommend you try some small mods, and a couple of new races, just to get a feel for what the original developers wanted. Find what you truly like and what works with your system...gradually thru experience. Otherwise expect a lot of headaches and reloads.

  21. Here is an idea to start a mod (back story). Your character is riding or walking on a road. It has been raining and as you approach an inn there is a mudslide nearby, exposing a cavern and damaging the inn. Within the damaged inn are several possible companions. As night falls you notice a glow from the exposed cavern. Deciding to investigate, and after passing several deadly traps you and your companions discover a "hard" locked cell deep within the cave complex. The cell contains standard furniture and one skeleton chained to the wall. Within a "hard locked" container outside of the cell is a crystal flute and book. The book is in an unknown language but it is in your handwriting. If you try the flute, a gate will open, and if you pass through the one way gate than all of your belongings are "LOST". You than find yourselves upon a slowly sinking island (timed). The seawater is acidic so you cannot spend much time in it. Your stats are changed to reflect a heavy gravity worldspace, ie., strength, endurance and athletics are increased, agility and acrobatics decreased. Additionally, the air is mildly hallucinogenic and until you become acclimated you cannot cast spells including teleport spells. After becoming acclimated your intelligence is increased. Give the characters ruins to explore...above ground, below ground and underwater. Include a tower, an additional gate, a boat etc... The flute by the way tunes the gates and the book is a music book. Take it from there. P.S.: Question for your character: Just who was that skeleton?...could it be you?
  22. In the night sky of Oblivion are two(?) moons. I think it would be interesting to fly there on a winged mount (Akatosh mount) or perhaps a sailing ship (a modified Dweomer Skyship). This would be even more interesting if there were Pirates on flying ships or flying creatures with the ability to intercept you. You could also place a hostile race there, one with the ability to invade Cyrodyll and even fireballing cities and towns from the air...perhaps flying "Moon" elves using a different and powerfull magic system. You could create an entirely new world, landscape, cities and ecology. I also wonder why no one has created any powerful flying creatures...a pod of flying Orcas comes to mind or a herd of carnivorous (flying) horses. How about... Liches, wiches and ghosts which could actually fly instead of merely hovering about dungeons. How about flying Dragons or Balrogs or even Godzilla if you want to be truly silly. How about a flying Air Atronarch? You would be adding to and populating an entirely underdeveloped and much more difficult dimension. AIRBORNE COMBAT. NOTE: The "Mounted Combat OBSE" mod has a pretty good system of mounted spellcasting which works from horse back, or flying dragon back. The mod "Burning Items" which currently only burns containers could be modified to burn buildings and trees altho you would have to mark some buildings as "essential"(?) and therefore immune. You might have to create fire brigades and forest watchtowers, tree shepards, and forest wardens, etc... But it would be interesting to fight a Dragon attacking a burning city or a Balrog burning a forest. Weather control would be important here. Of course you would have to rebuild the city and have Druids and spriggans to regrow the forest. Well, there's a bunch of different ideas, probably not workable in the main, but still interesting. Hope there's something there you can use.
