  1. In response to post #23722224. She'll pick the items she wear 1) after what will protect her best and 2) the one that has the highest clothing value. So if she wears the skirt but not the blouse, it probably means that she has a better blouse in her inventory. Remove what she is wearing, and she'll wear something else, hopefully the Mara Blouse. She'll prefer light armor to heavy armor as her light armor skill is higher (offers better protection). If she has vanilla healing potions in her inventory, she will use them during battle, without that you notice. But at least at the time when we - Grumpy and I - made her, there was no way to make her recognize potions that the player had made. I'm glad that you like her :). I think at the time when she was made, she was kind of a "new generation" of companion mods. But, today I am sure she must have been surpassed by many other companions for Morrowind. Grumpy died shortly after the release of Constance. I then made the decision not to continue on her; I wanted her to remain the same mod as he and I made together. :)
  2. In response to post #7491905. No... Grumpy and I decided she wouldn't be romanceable. And, just think of it... considering her personality, how would it work if you were romancing her? Would she pickpocket you when you were trying to kiss her? She's just not that kind of a girl :).
  3. Steinbeck, here is a picture of Skyrim Vilja in case you'd like to see what she looks like: http://lovkullen.net/Emma/Skyrim/ScreenShot120_cr.jpg
  4. Teehee... I search almost every day on "Emma" and "Vilja". So you basically only have to shout for me... :D Now, on the other hand, I am crap at having WIP-threads and such... When I'm modding, I spend the time in the ck rather than on forums, and I've never been much of a forum-poster apart from supporting my mods.
  5. Oh, she will most definitely appear here shortly, with a long storyline, too. Just have to iron out the snags we have ran into, as it's no point of uuploading something that is flawed. It's not the same Vilja - it's her great-great-grand-daughter, and she has her very own hopes, thoughts and reasons to be in Skyrim. However, if you *want* her to be the same Vilja as before, you can have that, too... it's an option you can choose shortly after her story has started. It will affect her dialog and her background-story, and some other aspects, too...
  6. Update on Vilja... It will probably take another week, we have ran into some technical things we need to straighten out first. But she is very much on the way and should soon arrive in Skyrim.
  7. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Emma hello and what an amazing girl you have created. I did have her installed + some other small mods and the alternative start on Wednesday Everything going wonderfully. Then I told my grandson I would put 'Oblivion' on his PC. Coming home after shopping I found he had tried to take 'MY' game off my Pc and completely ruined it. So, I un-installed Oblivion +all the mods and OBMM. I tried to do it all over again as before but I'm getting the problems you see.I have no idea what to do next. I have now started and restarted the game several times now since Wednesday afternoon ,trying different approaches to the problems. I am on a Win 7 Laptop but it hasn't been a problem before. It is a patched version as you said. to 1.2.1.4 I think it is. By the way I kept hearing Vilja(who I have fallen in love with) telling me,( I thought,) that she came from Soltau which is not far from where I lived up to last September . Lived there almost 6 years in Bad Fallingbostel which is 1 hours drive from Hannover north. Thanks for your input and hope we chat again Don ps I have uninstalled it all again and will try tomorrow. I also can't get the new start to activate + one or two othewrs which are straightforward esp.s Hi Don, I read in another post in another thread that you got Vilja working again, so I take it the trouble-shooting is over? Glad to her that you enjoy her so much. And I find it quite amazing tha grandfather and grandson are sharing their Oblivion-material :). The place Vilja comes from is Solstheim, which is a part of Vvardenfell, where also Morrowind (with the city of Vivec) belongs. But I agree that it sounds a bit like Soltau :). Btw, there is a help- and supportthread for Vilja here - it's probably the place where you fastest get response to questions about Vilja. :)
  8. Hi Steinbeck, A couple of questions regarding your problem. When I read the first post, I get the impression that you have met Vilja in the Bloated Float but that you cannot talk to her. But when I read later posts I get the impression that she isn't there at all. If she isn't there at all: have you ensured that you have patched your Oblivion to the latest version? Else, mods that like Vilja have been done with the latest patch won't show up. If she is there but do not have normal dialogue: Are you using the Companion Share and Recruit add-on Faction Recruitments? That mod will affect Vilja as well as several other custom companions badly, as they will "adopt" the dialog from Faction Recruitments. There is however a solution for this - download this patch by Amgepo and everything should work just fine. Btw, does her quest start? You should get a message about a girl in the Bloated Float a little while after you have left the sewers, or latest when you arrive at Waterfront. If her quest for some reason hasn't started (I can't imagine what the reason would be, though, as it should always start before you enter the Bloated Float) she won't have the correct dialog.
  9. Vilja in Skyrim and Vilja and Ceri roaming Skyrim. No, the project isn't dead at all, the release is scheduled to the end of this month (although I've started to think that around October 7 might be more likely). The only reason that there hasn't been much talk of her is that I'm too busy working on her to spend that much time in forums. But, I promise, she is being sea-sick on the ship to Skyrim right now, and in the luggage she has four questlines that should keep you busy for quite some time, more than 4000 voice entries, extensive backgroundstory, lots of bonus-npcs and interaction with some of the vanilla-followers included. And a few surprises, of course, that I won't mention just yet ;). I do hope that we can get together and add interaction between our companions, all of us. I would love to see that happen, in Oblivion it was only Companion Fergus that really interacted with Vilja. :) P S I promise that as soon as I get a chance I will try out Atvir a little better. I've simply been so busy working on Vilja that all my time has went into that rather than playing. It was only last week that I tried out Ceri, too.
  10. Well, of course you shouldn't update from a quicksave where Vilja is standing next to you. Quicksaves aren't good, btw... use regular saves instead, quicksaves are bound to sooner or later corrupt your game, especially if you are quicksaving with mor than one PC-character. You can try to make a new save where you are apart from Vilja. Else, simply uninstall the previous version the way Striker suggest in his first post. You should be able to get back to approx the stage you are at by simply casting the start-combat-spell on Heneri. The You and I topic should be inside the "Let's just talk for a while" topic. If it isn't there I take it you are using a very old version of Vilja, as I beleive the "You and I"topic has been there since ver 3.0.
  11. I wonder, when you say you have no option to play games and no options for romance, are you positive this is the case? You won't have anything romance-related showing up ingame unless you go to her options book (which is in the skills report menu) and check the romance option. The "Play a game" topic is inside the "You and I"- topic. It is only during very special occasions you should need to uninstall/reinstall Vilja in order to upgrade. Normally, upgrading just means replacing the esp and the bsa. That is why I ask if you are absolutely posiitve the upgrade didn't work. If you indeed have to uninstall/reinstall, it's exactly like Striker explains; you can get back to approx where you were before the reinstall by talking to Heneri in Cheydinhal.
  12. If you are new to using mods, there is one thing you should be aware of with White Wolf of Lokken. You should use EITHER the esm-file OR the esp-file. Never, ever, both of them, as you will then have every npc doubled. If you are intending to keep the Lokken area, your best choice is to use the esm version. Also, if you want to play any of the add-ons (Like Lokken Children) you should use the esm-version. Only if you are in doubt of that you want to keep Lokken in your game, it might be an advantage to use the esp-version. Hope this helps, and hope you'll enjoy the mod :) -Emma
  13. Extract the two 7zip-files - one for the bsa and one for the current esp-version (4.04). Drop the content - i.e. the bsa and the esp - in your Oblivion/Data folder. Play the game and enjoy :). That is all. No need to complicate it with convertions. EDIT: In case you have further questions, there is a very active help-thread for Vilja .
  14. Emma!! I don't think that's your connection, I think it's your computer. Or, dare I say it, that god awful browser you're using...! I'll look in to fast-tracking an option in the preferences to turn off the background image. Dark0ne, you need to add a give-icecream smiley or something, so that we have something more than the thumbsup to use when we want to show how much we appreciate your efforts. :) Thank you for listening, and I'm sorry for being such a PITA, but I'm thinking that if I have a problem, others might have the same problem, and therefore I mention it. I don't think it's my Dell XPS M1730 causing the problems, it's more likely my awf.... uhm... browser, but apparently (according to the comments) there are several of us that are depending on this browser for working/school reasons.
  15. Today, to my happy surprise, the comments showed up in IE8 without that I had had to do any changes at all. However, there is now another problem... after you added the new images in the background, it's now practically impossible for me, who has ADSL internet, to scroll and view content. It's... slower than slowmotion. Browsing the page where I'm supposed to maintain my mods is absolutely impossible. Is there any way to disable the background picture (as I'm assuming this is what is causing the incredible lag)? I.e. like it is possible for individual users to do this on Bethesda's boards.
  16. I will try and find out what is wrong - thank you for the replies :). (Uhm... it couldn't possibly be the combination XP + IE8, could it? I'm sorry if the question is dumb, but I'm rather illiterate with these kind of things.)
  17. That browser looks suspiciously like IE7, Emma :( What version of IE is it? It is IE8. As I said, I am running Windows XP  and unfortunately IE9 doesn't support it: So, what you are saying is that I either have to abandone XP, which I love, or Internet Explorer, which I find is working soooo much better for me than other browsers (yes, I do have work-related real-life reasons for this), or Nexus, which is my favorite TES-site? :( Is there any chance that Nexus will find workarounds (i.e. not finished the design yet) or is this how things will remain? I've been using IE-Tester to backwards check the sites with IE8 (as you can't have IE8 and IE9 installed simultaneously) and it's working absolutely fine for me, Emma :( Is anyone else on IE8 experiencing this issue? Is anyone on IE8 not experiencing this/any issues? Could this be a plugin issue? Especially check for anything blocking javascript as the new sites are very heavy javascript users (programs like adblockers, anti-virus, firewalls, internet suites etc, can all affect this). Well, it seems this user has the same difficulties as I with IE8 + XP. No, there shouldn't be anything blocking javascripts here .
  18. That browser looks suspiciously like IE7, Emma :( What version of IE is it? It is IE8. 19. Uhm... when I read this it appears as if others can still read comments about mods? Well, for me they are gone. Nothing there at all. And I have tried on several occasions during the evening, in case it was something temporary. I use Internet Explorer and have Windows XP, in case that matters. EDIT: This is all I get, and it's the same for all my mods.
  20. Are you using the latest version of Bash (292)? This is known to still be a bit buggy, and I know that Vilja is one of the mods that is affected, although the report I have heard has been regarding her inventory - it cannot be accessed, instead you get a floating skull! Else, I don't know what to say, as no-one has reported anything like this before. I've never heard of Vilja just standing about the way you describe. As for "problems" regarding Vilja and RTT, the only thing I know of is that the dialog for RTT is set up in such a way that it is impossible to introduce Ruin as an unique companion to Vilja. This might be a design-choice of the author of Ruin - instead of a normal greeting, he only has greetings with choices, which makes it impossible to add any additional topics to him (maybe a wise choice for a quest-npc). So, it's not a conflict, nor a real problem, it just eliminates a proper "introduction" that will make Vilja recognize him as an unique npc. What happens if you put the affected companions in a safe interior cell and leave them behind there for +72 game hours? Will they behave normally when you pick them up again? Doing this is a good standard solution that one can always try if a npc is acting up in any way. Just make sure that you don't enter the cell for at least 72 game hours!
  21. The same old discussion as before the release of Oblivion, when the Morrowind community were torned between expectations for Oblivion and sadness over the possible decline of Morrowind modding  Well, there was no reason for melancholy when Oblivion was released, and I'm sure there won't be any such reasons now either. True, for some months before and after the release of Oblivion, there *was* a decline in Morrowind modding - the same decline as one can easily spot for Oblivion modding right now. And then, a few months later, people hade played through Oblivion... and many of them (myself included) returned to Morrowind. The modding community for Morrowind again thrived and some of the very best Morrowind-mods out there have in fact been made AFTER the release of Oblivion. Btw, I do love Oblivion, but Morrowind, with its indepth mainquest and dramatic landscapes still holds the place as my all time favorite game. I'm very much looking forward to Skyrim, and hoping to mod for it, too. But I'm in no rush, there are still plenty of things I'd like to play and mod in Oblivion. And there will probably be a bunch of issues with the new Skyrim construction set that clever script-oriented modders will look into in order to make modding and mod-using easier for the rest of us (there was a time when things like OBSE, Wrye Bash, OBMM, TES4Edit didn't exist, and at that time, Oblivion modding and mod-using was way harder). It is when these script-oriented modders have worked their magic into the Skyrim construction set that also the rest of us will be able to do really creative things. I have no fear that Oblivion modding will fade away - it will continue for many years, alongside with Skyrim modding and Morrowind modding.
  22. I've been looking over your mods and am impressed. I have downloaded a few of your houses, but have only gotten a chance to use Lakeview in-game. Still haven't seen the inside, since I am using a new character who is too low level to kill that blasted witch at the moment! In any case, it's a great location for a house. Thank you :). Just to clarify... I'm thinking you might be mixing up my Lakeside Home and Lakeview by Vince Bly, as I never have made anything that includes a witch but I know that his mod does... Vince Bly's Abandoned Mountain shack is companionfriendly, but I *think* (although I'm not sure) that Lakeview only has a single-bed. Well, you'll find out after killing that witch... EDIT: I have looked at his screenshots and it appears that Lakeview has a double-bed which hopefully can be used by companions. I do not know if the abode is pathgridded etc.
  23. I have made a list of companionfriendly houses that I know of. Please bear in mind that this list is by no means comprehensive, it's only houses that I know of and that others have recommended. Here is a link to the list.
  24. Companionfriendly inns. I made the mod because I also found it annoying when Vilja didn't have anywhere to sleep. However, Vilja and other companions *can* share a double-bed with you by default, as long as the bed hasn't got any ownership assigned to it; that usually prevents companions from sleeping there. The Cheydinhaal house is a very special case - the double-bed is *changed* to only have room for one person in it! And... it's not actually the upper-class bed that you see in the house, that is just a dummy! If you look in the construction set, you will find that there is a Lower class bed placed right under it, and it's in fact in this bed you are sleeping  May I recommend that you look around for a companionfriendly house-mod instead? Perhaps this upgrade of the Cheydinhal house for sale by Princess Stomper might be what you are looking for? According to Princess, this version of the house should work very well with companions. In my signature there is a link to a list of other confirmed companionfriendly houses by modders. P S You can of course also tell Vilja to use her sleeping-bag... but I reckon you aren't that cruel  P P S I'm glad to hear that you enjoy Vilja's company
