  2. I was able to get a more specific error by checking for updates on a single mod. Turns out Vortex thinks it has something to do with my firewall. So I added Vortex to my allowed list in the firewall - no effect. Then I tried to turn off the firewall while checking for updates. No effect. Also - I am able to check all mods successfully by doing it individually. Then suddenly I get an error. Then if I check that same mod again, I do not get the error. My internet connection is STABLE. Via cable. I have 200gbit and I'm the only one using it right now..
  3. Thanks. I don't use VPN and my internet is working as usual. I have a stable connection by all means. I just reinstalled Vortex with no effect. Maybe I just have to accept that I will never be able to check my mods for updates again

While most of the mods a successfully checked, I get a handful that are unsuccessful with the following error: connect ETIMEDOUT [ip address] It seems to be random which mods it is, small mods, big mods, popular mods lesser known mods - and they're are not inactive on nexus. It's not my internet and it's not a hardware problem. I suspect it could be related to the recent big win 11 update, because I got that about a week ago.
  5. I just returned to Fallout 4, scared that nothing would work because of the new "next gen" update. (I'm still traumatized by what happened to Skyrim SE this winter lol) Anyway, I don't know if the update didn't cause as much havoc as the internet upheval suggested, or if it's actually you - the mod authors - that have worked so effectivly to solve the issues. I haven't had any problems using my mods so far. Everything seems to be in order. Either way, I want to take this opportunity to thank you for your work and continued engagement in making this game better with all your creative ideas and skills.
  6. I just found out - the game resets my sound settings everytime go through a loading door. The game is litterally unplayable WTH Do I need to uninstall SkyUI to make this error go away? SKSE? All my mods?

Hello everyone, After one whole christmas month of fixing mod related errors because I felt like playing Skyrim in the holidays (didn't happen), everything is seemingly working NOW. besides 1 thing - the settings menu in game. It wont save. The sound settings wont save at all. The game settings, there are only a few things that wont save, and I've found a mod https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/106418?tab=description that fixes this, but it disables my UI texture. Fantastic. I know this might have something, or rather everything to do with SkyUI. I have already googled and tried everything I could find on the first 3 pages. I can see that people have had this issue for 7 years and there seem to be no solution for it so far? I would be able to fix it, if I knew where the in game settings is saved. It is not in the controlmap_custom file as I've seen suggested on the interwebs, I believe that skyUI takes control and put it in another file? If I just knew where that file was, I could adjust the settings manually in that ini I guess?
  8. I can't be the only one who finds it annoying that Farengar casts magelight when he's at his office all the time. It takes away the otherwise great lighting in Dragonsreach. Would it be possible to make a mod for this?
  9. There is a fix. But it's not compatible with RWT. Actually there's two blacksmith water fixes as of today.
  10. Hi guys. I was wondering if the broader modding community have any ideas on how to fix this. When I toggle on Realistic Water Two it makes the blacksmith forge water look like this. The picture is a little dark (and not mine btw) so I'll describe it - static blacksmithwater with weird little pixels like snow on an old tv-screen. As far as I've understood RWT is meant to fix the static blacksmith water so I wa expecting something else. I use this other great mod called "Blacksmith Forge Water Fix" - does it's job perfectly BUT not with Realistic Water Two enabled. Then it does nothing. I guess RWT overwrites the other mod, so I tried to set up some specific rules in Vortex - no result. RWT creates a lot of files but none of them is directly tied to the blacksmith as far as I can tell, so I guess it just takes the shaders from it's other water and replaces the blacksmith water with that. Blacksmith Forge Water Fix only has the two core files in the main data folder. BTW once used an ENB but I deleted it and cleaned everthing up with ENB and ReShade Manager. I tried to run the mod with only the unofficial mod and SkyUI enabled - still no result. Do you guys know if there is ANY way to fix this? I would be fine if there was a way to let Blacksmith Forge Water Fix handle the blacksmith water completely. Your help is appreciated :smile:
  11. Also, I don't know if this has anything to do with the problem, but in MCM when I click on Videos of the Wasteland it says that I'm missing the master file o.O (I don't, it's in the folder)
  12. Thanks I tried with the mod you suggested. And I'm running F4SE. Tried a new playthrough - still no OCDecorations and Videos of the Wasteland. I don't understand this....
  13. Hi there. I just installed Fallout 4 on my new setup and started the first playthrough. I've got 3 mods that's supposed to have a category in the workshop: Sim Settlements OCDecorations Videos of the Wasteland. The only one showing up is Sims Settlements. I've never encountered this problem before, and I think I run somewhat the same mods as usual. I've tried all the solutions that I could find on google. Exept trying a new playthrough.
  14. I was wondering if theres any way to forget a learned alchemy recipie. I've been looking around in "TESV ESS Files Editor" but I can't find it there, at least not on my own. I don't suppose that there's a mod or a console command for this? Any help is appreciated! :)
  15. I solved it by deleting them and then copying another bookcase. It works in coc/test mode now, but i cant use the activators in game, so that might be a save game problem? :s
  16. Thanks ill try that testing thing today. And no theres no books ind the shelfs yet so that should not be the problem.
  17. I am remodding a little in the "Breezehome Library" mod to make it suit my playstyle a little more. One of the things that I'm trying to do is to move some of the bookshelves around a bit. I moved these shelves with everything in them (bookmarkers, colissionmarkers and so on) at the same time so nothing would be incorrectly placed inside the shelves afterwards. STILL - when I activate the bookshelves in game, the books are placed back where they where originally intented to be (before I started to mess around :confused: ), and ofcourse they drop to the ground because theres no shelf there anymore.. I see no signs of any markers or whatsoever in those spots either and I dont know what to look for when troubleshooting this, so I could really use some help. Thanks in advance :)
