Skytrek is basically Autopilot for Skyrim. My experience with it is that it can be sometimes janky but it's good for putting on ambience while multitasking something else. I was wondering if there was something for FO4 like it or in the works?

SSE PDF tutorial book or am I remembering Oblivion?
furzball replied to furzball's topic in Skyrim's Creation Kit and Modders
Thank you, I'll be checking those out over my days off work (starting in an hour and 20 then a 40 minute commute and bed lol) -
I am looking at hobbies and thinking about getting into making mods. I seem to recall there being a PDF for creation kit and the first tutorial is how to make a basement. I'm trying to figure out if it was for Skyrim or Oblivion or if I'm just a dunce. If that's not the case I'm looking at the Nexus Skyrim wiki and youtube for tutorials. Thanks ya'll for being an awesome community of creators :)

Is there a mod that stops eyes from going black on death?

I had posted this up on reddit and from what they're posting back, my idea is just not possible. For entertainment purposes I'll explain what my "plan" was when I posted this. Mind you I did it in the morning, 4 hours sleep, and on my first cup of coffee. I was thinking of having basically a skyrim theater using AI controlled player characters that react to a program called voiceattack (does voice commands) and twitch chat(not even sure how I would've done that). I wanted to have the personality of the AI's randomly develop so you could get Dovahkin or a Dovahdrunk amongst a wide range of "personalities". That way every time I started a new game, I'd get something different. So yup, basically an odd idea that just can't get off the ground.

Totally not asking anyone to make this, I'm sorta just wondering out loud here for a project idea I'd work on but don't want to pursue if the time/effort is not going to be useful. I'm curious about if a player character can be controlled by an AI package in game? Eventual goal of this: -learn how to develop an AI (moreso than the retro 2d game AI's) -Have it capable of going from objective to objective on it's own. -Have some randomness. Not sure if I can get an AI to select race/class at the start of the game. But basically going to try to make it so no playthrough with the AI is the same. Different classes, different side missions, etc. Likes/dislikes. Not sure how deep or not to make it. But I'd want something to happen where one playthrough you have Dovahkin, and in another playthrough your AI gets DovahDrunk or goes to pick berries on the side of a mountain to eat for the rest of its' "life". -Use a program like voice attack to get the AI to respond to certain commands or phrases. Maybe add spells that make the AI say something back (get the spell to play a soundbite)(or easier yet, have voiceattack make the response). Not sure how I'd get it to switch spells on the fly not to mention go in and out of menus (leveling/equipment) -eventually tie it to other stuff like twitch chat Edit: answering some of my questions via google. Sorry tired and on first coffee. But essentially do you think the AI can be made "smart" enough to go after the objectives, get sidetracked, etc?

Been hearing rumors about the next coming Elder Scrolls, however I'm guessing it'll be yet another block of the Tamriel map. Now I know the timelines are different and that elder scrolls online exists. However if it could be sorted out and there was a way to get a solo game of ElderScrolls across all of Tamriel, would you play it? What if there was some sort of trade off, because the obvious one would be to make a game with an estimated 60gb of content (based off the 6gb of skyrim times regions on map). Another could be lesser graphics. Finally my favorite thought is just the developers send out a very basic Tamriel with a construction kit and leave it up to fans to create the content (I would guess not since they'd want to sell on console to). IDK what do you all think? Side note: Still on my first cup of coffee, at crack of noon, after coming home from work at midnight and playing games till 5am. Furzt day off on a monday lol. But if my mind / post seems muddled, that'll be why. http://vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/elderscrolls/images/6/62/Tamriel_Map.png

Alright so I'm new to eve. Still on my one month trial. Finished up some of the industry (mining/delivery) missions. And next weekend for me, I'll be doing another set of missions. Here's what I like so far: -Setting up stuff to work in background or offline. Training/production type stuff. That way I can work on programming and other things while not having to worry that no work is going into the game. -Set up a mining run which is just about as automated. Undock, find places to mine, warp, mine, warp back, dock, use materials/veldspar change to tritanium/ sell sell sell! Well... since there's shortcut keys I can probably even set it to run on voice commands via voice attack. thats as far into it as I've gotten. I'll figure out more once I get to my weekend. But definantly my new game addiction. I got introduced to Eve same as most other newcomers: heard about the sandbox nature/free economy of it. Mostly battles where multiple thousands/millions of dollars blown up along with ships and so forth was what tugged on my ears. So both stories of grand battle and economy convinced me I should give the game a try and so far, worth it. So, ladies and gents, anything else I could look forward too? Tips and suggestions? Fun things to try? etc.

Been awhile since I posted anything. Hi everybody. I've been revisiting skyrim recently. Looking at two years of newer mods or so. Mostly have been making skyrim a hunting/ realistic death game (so instead of taking a dozen arrows, I get hit with two and go down). Whats super fun is getting a wolfpack to the face essentially when I alt start a new game. However as the title says, I want to more so realistically go hunt dragons. And yes including magic for characters of that sort. By realistically I mean that you'd have to be smart and have a multiple person strategy in most cases to take down a dragon. Not only the but I would guess most dragons would ignore bows as much as we ignore bee stings. It hurts, could be poisonous for some of use, but it won't bring us down in most cases. And once on the ground, a dragon should be able to easily smash or crisp anything in its way. So what I mean to ask is, in what ways can a dragon actually be hurt in a more realistic sense counting magic in. And of course with medieval or maybe Dweamer tech. So far my main two ideas are Ballista/ giant crossbow is the average no magic man idea for killing dragons. Big enough bolt to actually do damage instead of a bow. As for magic ideas... a larger version of ice spike is similar to a ballista bolt. Heck plenty of ideas can be done with magic. But I am looking for other ideas for average medieval skyrim man to bring down dragons. Have at it and have fun.

Mostly I'm just having fun with the idea. Taking a break at school and was looking through mods to play with tomorrow. Currently I have my character set as Tyael(purple tunic) and the ultima blade. Messing around with Blaze of Evintide and some sort of holy fire mod that makes his flames white. Added together and I got a Furious angel on horseback riding around. Planning on adding the Horsemen Mounted combat mod, AWWW YEAH! Flamming Angel of Justice in the house! If the mod works right XP Thing is, once that is done, I sorta want to ride into an epic battle on horseback, and I do notice a few army mods, scripted battles, etc. But I'm talking about riding into an epic battle like the one Tyrannicon made a video of awhile back. My only thing against it is..well... computer power, Currently maxed out on graphics and bugfixes etc. So it only crashes when I do something dumb while modding. However in this case, I think it'll crash just from processing the battle mass. Not to mention I want to get alot of NPC's on Horseback battling it out. IDK what do you all think? Worth it lol? What are some of your most epic mod combinations? Epic win or fail?

Well isn't that how Maddog's fantasy mod is, just taking final fantasy character faces and using them as helmets essentially. Probably can do the same here. Mod can be either a race that gets a helmetface at the starting prison, or can be any race and still get the helmetface.

*facepalms* I opened this cause I thought it was a misspelling of Tauren. Which would be another neat race to add, though less likely then Turians. I barely started playing the first game when the third Mass Effect was about to come out. Promising start but I spoiled on the MS3 ending and figured not worth the time to go through the games for a suck ending. But the various alien races are neat.

Right now I'm trying to sort down how many games I'm Playing for more useful projects (basically stuff to improve myself) I've already sorted down to 7 games. I'm trying to get it down to 3 or 4, Starcraft is permanant on the list since I play with friends on it. Also borderlands is on the list. Trying to decide between Fallout 3 and New Vegas. Also between Oblivion and Dragon Age. And finally deciding if I should go back into world of warcraft with more of an open mind (Did it for revenge reconnasience reasons). Anyways let me know your thoughts and thanks.

Ok as it describes above, I have a vgn-nw235f Vaio laptop, intel chipset, and non of the start game fixes have worked. I'm going to see with geeksquad sometime this week if they can hack in and change my graphics card cause it seems that may be the main problem. If someone can fill me in on more of it that would be cool. I'm thinking of buying a new gaming desktop if I cant fix this. Just more money down the drain.

Spring project seems interesting since I could make RTS games for my dad, his bud, and me. We get together weekend nights to beat the heck out of eachother in strategy games. For the past three years however, it's been Sins of a Solar Empire. Only reason I can still stand it is cause I mod it and they accept. Dragon age looks like my next step up. Maybe I should get a new desktop though.

Which laptop should I downgrade to XP?
furzball replied to furzball's topic in Hardware and software discussion
So I shouldn't use the Vaio (2009) over my Acer(2008) as my gaming laptop. Is there reason to this? Also is Just Cause 2 any good? Is it Mod friendly? If not then I can do just fine without it. -
I know, essentially all games are moddable. But some are obviously more difficult then others. Currently I'm working on these games -fall out 3 -oblivion -Final Fantasy VII -Final Fantasy VIII -Sins of a Solar Empire -Second Life Obviously 4 of these games are mod friendly while two of them (big clue, Square Soft made them) are only moddable because the endeavors of other people making their own programs and ways to mod the game. I'm curious as to what other games are good to mod / are mod friendly. I'm also wondering if I should just say heck with it and get into my own game development.

As I've gone through reviews and such it appears that XP is still by far the best windows system. The only thing is at least for my Acer Extensa 4420 it's hard to downgrade to XP due to drivers and such. I've downgraded it once before and tested oblivion on it, and it ran sweetly. I'm curious as to how Fallout 3 will run on it. I also have the new Sony VAIO VGN-NW23SF I think. It was whatever one for the black friday deal at Best Buy. It is running windows 7. Which is alittle better then vista in my books, in terms of running standard stuff. Mainly web and all that. But I have been getting all sorts of errors trying to run Fallout3 and all that. Anyways I'm wanting to downgrade either one or downgrade both. But would Fallout 3 work on XP? Also would Sins of a Solar Empire Work? Basically what I am going for is 1 laptop to be my "work" laptop, basically me writing stories, going online, writing code, etc. The acer seems obvious for this but with the Vaio I'm not sure if cause of the way it's set up is why it is tweaking my games. Oh and also here is my games list. -Fallout 3 -Oblivion -Sins of a Solar Empire -Final Fantasy VII -Final Fantasy VIII -Second Life Reason for these games is cause they are moddable and I'm working on some projects with them. Anyways if I do downgrade how do I fix driver problems with XP not finding drivers. That's the problem I've had in the past where on my Acer, I could get my graphics, sound and basics working but not wireless. Would I be stuck with the same on my Vaio?

I'm trying to get FO3 to work on my lower end windows vista laptop. It's only 2 years old and should be able to play it (Ive gotten it to work before going into windows xp with said laptop but because it is an acer it tends to not like downgrading so I couldnt go online and such) Any mods that can help?

Idea for gundam/excaflowne gameplay mod
furzball replied to furzball's topic in Oblivion's Mod Ideas
Well not new monsters, just monsters resized. Also with the armor we could have normal npc's that attack your character, dressed in gundam armor. -
Wait... I can one up the great Buddah. Final Fantasy VII- Mako Dawn Is the only one of total conversion I know of, but it is still in production/unreleased.

Idea for gundam/excaflowne gameplay mod
furzball replied to furzball's topic in Oblivion's Mod Ideas
Would anyone know if this would work? -
Trust me, even with photoshop experience modding can be hard. This mod would require a 3d program like say, blender. Not only that, you would need the construction set from the TES website. I suggest looking at a few of the guides on this site as well. I'm not saying all of this cause I have experience modding, I'm saying it as someone new as well.

I was just thinking, perhaps it was possible to make a tv sort of deal in oblivion. Basically it runs an animation and sound file(S) (Problem is matching them up) just on a flat square screen.
