  1. Its USD currency, and I avoid alienware at all costs to be honest. Great build quality, though subpar gaming setup compared to laptops set a few hundred dollars less. The GE60 and Y510p both push air out of one side using one fan, but there is another laptop by Gigabyte called the P2542G that has better ventilation but the GPU isn't on the same level as the current gen GE60 or the SLI from the y510p. I could pay $929 for a ge60 without the i7 (it has an i5) because there isn't much of a difference while gaming from what I've seen. Maybe 3-4 fps difference
  2. That Lenovo got my attention, that is probably the best bang for the buck i have ever seen, especially the specs.

you might want to upgrade the lenovo's hd though, 5200rpm isn't going to cut for gaming, with those laptops you can open the back right up and see the motherboard and everything, i suggest get a 250gb ssd or a 1tb hd sense gaming these days will take up a lot of space.

Well I was leaning more towards that one until I saw both notebooks in front of me with fps, and programmed benchmarks and the ge60 rated higher due to compatibility issues with sli and a lot of games supporting it. The 765m actually had a higher frame rate than the sli set up which was a bit odd to me at first. I'm thinking that if I do get the MSI that I'll throw in about 250gb+ sdd in it along with the HDD as there are slots for both.

  3. Well I took a few hours to look at different processors and GPUs, and I came to an extremely odd conclusion. I decided that I was in more of a need for a laptop than another desktop. And to combine my interest for gaming and need for a laptop I'm now looking for something with specs to play skyrim maxed out but in a easy to carry form. I've been looking at a Lenovo y510p and an MSI GE60. Both have i7 CPUs, but the y510p has an SLI setup with two 750m's while the GE60 has a single 765m. And I'm changing my budget to a little over $1,000 for more realistic needs. Maybe $1,000 but $1,100 tops
  4. So I've been wanting to build a gaming PC for awhile but the money just hasn't been there. At the moment I'm thinking of getting the AMD A10 6800k CPU and crossfiring with a HD7750 to play skyrim and some modern games, not too crazy though. I was just wondering what anyone thought about the APU and GPU Cross firing set up. My budget is only about $650 so I'm trying to make the most out of it, if anyone could recommend parts or even full builds from parts online id be grateful. Its just going to be for Skyrim, WoW, battlefield (if I can). Thanks for the help!
  5. I honestly think that the premium subscription is worth it. I use to get download rates of 500kb/sec and now I get about 2-3mb/sec when downloading a file. You also do not have to wait for those silly 30 second ad videos that you have to watch when downloading a file. The added Supporters imageshare is amazing and the download history is great when you need to restore your computer and do not remember what mods were downloaded. Hope this helps. =) Also I don't really know how great Honest Hearts is since I haven't played it yet but I will get the DLC soon and reply with my answer.
  6. I'm not exactly new to Tesnexus, but for the past few years I've been unable to play Oblivion on my computer because my system was well outdated. I just bought a brand new one that can handle the game and am so happy to be back! I missed all of you and your wonderful mods! =)
  7. @The Black Ninja: I didn't want to finish the SI quest line when I bought the expansion pack so I waited a few weeks. Honestly the quests in Oblivion are terrible compared to Morrowinds. They all have the same plot: "I need this so go get it."

@Vindekarr: I actually liked Midnight Club LA over Paradise. Only because the crash scenes started getting annoying, but it was a really great game. MCLA was flawed horribly. The bikes had unmatched speed. The exotic class had terrible handling, and everything else just lost. I played for maybe a day and I unlocked the Group 4 cars and their second parts without completing 30% of the game. All i had to do was do Freeway races for a few hours on a bike and I unlocked most of the cars and the Idol rank. After that I didn't even try to finish the story line. Even online I didn't lose any races because I used a bike. Everything is unbalanced. I also played blur for a while. Its a really fun game

  8. I play a lot of racing games and they arent the sort you usualy get 100% completion in, even in games Ive come to absolutely love and keep coming ack to like the superb DIrT 2 BUT!

The only racing game Ive simply put down because it was just too horrible to bother with was midnight club three on xbox 360. Simply atrocious. bad graphics, poor selection of cars, very limited customisation on the sorts of cars you'd buy the game to customise. If that wasnt enough then the game also had a crummy level up system. You spent each level hording cash so you could afford a car from the next level. And the AI and tracks were just laughably bad, its set in LA and LA is NOT a fun city to race cars in: devoid of interesting scenery, and the only real road types are highways and streets.

The game also earned my ire because A the motorbikes only came in three types, B they cost less than a set of aftermarket wheels and tires for a car, and C were so unrealistic I laughed out loud in disgust. You only get three choices, and they are so badly balanced that only one of the is a valid choice for what to ride.

You get to "pick" between a Ducatti Monster, a Ducatti 1000 RR, and a Kawasaki Ninja ZX14. In reality that would be a very interesting race, as the Kawasaki has a bigger engine than some cars, and the 1000RR handles like a racing bike. Handling vs speed. but in game handing does matter because they all handle like they are glued onto the road.

I dont mind arcady handling. Split Second and Burnout(1,2, 4, 6) are some of my all time favorite games, but they are FUN arcady, this is an arcade racer that thinks its a sim, but doesnt have the guts to put in a proper tuning interface or decent driving dynamics.

Finaly, the game is delivered its merciful bullet in the head by its storyline. Racers shouldnt have storylines. But this does. And its beyond bad. Overall the lousy gameplay, obcene music, swearing laden dialogue and pathetic "tuning"(no actualy tuning involved, cars dont even look realistic) is set against the back drop thats half soap opera, and half fast n furious. But even FF had better character and dialogue than this.

Easily one of the worst games Ive ever had the misfortune of playing.

graphics: 6/10: outdated engine and looks pathetic in HD. gameplay: 4/10, aweful. just aweful. racing: 0/10 atrocious, no map or directions, just drive along and pray you dont take a wrong turn. plot. 0/10, obnoxious face offs between armies of stereotypical, hormone fueled black men who swear alot and need a lesson in english. not my style. cars: 3/10. a small range with most of the "neccessary" cars there like the lancer, skyline, db9 and the two lamborghinis. but you cant actualy do much to customise them, and the result is always ridiculous and ugly, untuned they dont even look like the real thing or sound like it.

    overall: 1/10. disgustingly bad.

I totally agree with this! The game just drags on and on and on. All your trying to do in the game is trying to get the F1 car. Before and after that it's a let down.

  9. Hello and welcome! So many questions! I think the reason it has

become a problem wasn't just because of the nudity but because of what

they were doing and showing in their pictures. I mean some things are

classified as art but it was kinda graphic. Sorry I can't help as much

because I haven't uploaded a pic for months and rarely use the image

share section as much as I used to. Anyways... Enjoy your stay here!

  10. I think Morrowind was much better. It had a story line that was much better than Oblivion's. The combat system was decent because you had more weapon types than Oblivion did, but it was flawed. I loved Bloodmoon more than anything in Morrowind. You could create your own town (without mods of course), become a werewolf, and kill weird undead nords. Tribunal was fun too, you could get flaming weapons, great looking guard armor, and kill a guy you didn't pay earlier who wants revenge.

Oblivion was great because it had great graphics, guild quests, and the addition of fighting more Deadra than Morrowind.

Personally my favorite is Morrowind. http://www.thenexusforums.com/public/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif

  11. Well for me it's just the skin that's annoying me. Ive been using the IPB skin that comes with all IPB forums because it was so much clearer than the dark skin and the normal Nexus skin. I hope he brings it back
  12. The only games i've ever been able to beat are all Zelda games and Morrowind, Oblivion, and FO3. I can't get through the mines in Dragon Age Origins because I keep dieing. I also can't finish racing games such as the Midnight Club games.
  13. hehe nothing's too old to like  Morrowind is a much better game compared to Oblivion.

    Morrowind Forever!

Well Bethesda isn't actually working on Fallout New Vegas or the other games. They have other studios doing it while they "supervise". I hope they are working on the TES games themselves.

  14. I just wanted to say the download speeds are amazing! It's been a while since Ive actually download a mod and last time I did it was like 100kbs now when I downloaded RR Companions Vault Refurbished it was 1mbps and only dropped to 700kbs. Im so becoming a premium member for even faster download speeds! I love this site and hope you keep making the site better. http://thenexusforums.com/public/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif
