  1. Causes of this Error... 1. Incorrect boot order. 2. Partition not set as active. 3. Hard disk failure. NOTE: Some of the solutions below require the use of the Microsoft Windows setup CD/DVD or USB. 1. Check Boot Order The simplest fix for this error is to make sure your computer’s boot order correctly list your hard disk as the 1st option. To check the boot order... a. Restart your computer b. Access your BIOS menu. c. Go to the Boot tab. d. Change the boot order so that your computer’s HDD is listed first. e. Save the settings. f. Restart your computer. 2. Partition not set as active. This error will also appear if your primary partition is no longer set as 'active'. To set the primary partition as active, you need to use diskpart to run the necessary commands for this. If you have the original Windows installation media, you can use that media: a. Insert the Windows installation CD/DVD or USB and boot from that. b. At System Recovery Options or the Troubleshoot, click Command Prompt. c. Now type: "diskpart" (without the quotes) and press "Enter". d. Next type: "select disk 0" (again without the quotes) and press "Enter". NOTE: Where 0 is the disk’s number where your Windows is installed on. For a full list of disks that are available on your computer, type "list disk" (without the quotes). e. Now you want to type: "list partition" (yes, without the quotes) and hit "Enter". f. Here you will type in: "select partition 1" (you guessed it, without the quotes) and hit "Enter". NOTE: Where 1 is your primary partition. g. Finaly type: "active" (no quotes) and hit "Enter". This should resolve the problem. If not, please refer to this post: https://iboysoft.com/data-recovery/windows-wont-boot.html NOTE: If you don’t have the original installation media, you will need "Easy Recover Essentials" and run the fixes from the Command Prompt.
  2. Just did this yesterday. Use Macrium Reflect to clone the HDD on the SSD. The difference is night and day.
  3. Having had the same problem and failed to find any solution on any of the responses that worked I have developed a simple way to stop it (and hopefully not wreck anything). Go to "computer" in the start panel. Right click on the removable drive and select "eject". It gives you a warning but still gives you the option to proceed. If you continue you'll get the "safe to remove" message on the task bar like you would expect. As with other people on various threads I'm computer savvy but not to the point where I want to fiddle around in various processes. This basic fault has been kicking around for a long time and I've now seen it in Windows 8 as well. I would have expected Microsoft to have sorted it by now. That was a bit optimitic!
  4. If you use sleep the machine will be using a very small amount of power all the time your in sleep. Might be a problem if your running off the battery. You would have to watch the battery charge and see what the results are. If you shutdown... every time you power up the machine you will have to reload the OS. Which leads to a lot of work on your hdd if your doing that multiple times per day.
  5. Well, I scanned my failed SanDisk 256GB SD card with EaseUS 5.8 a few days ago. It scanned more than an hour but none of my lost data found. Then I saw iBoysoft Data Recovery throughout other forums there are users recommending it. So I thought I'd give it a try, attempted to download the free version from the developer website. Ran its scan and it was very fast. Although the software ignored the directory structure, it did a good job of finding my lost files. The free iBoysoft Data Recovery has a 1GB limit. If it can recover the directory structure, I'm willing to buy the full product. https://iboysoft.com/data-recovery/recover-deleted-files.html
  6. You have to use the in game modhub to download mods to your game, transferring mods to a flash drive and sticking it into your PS4
  7. Grab the names of a few of the NPCs that have the bug and ring it up in xEdit and see just what is going on first off You might just need to carry a a few records over into a new patch
  8. I have the same issue. Here is how i get the auto-saves back: 1. Go to the folder that your saves are located in (Documents/My Games/Skyrim/Saves), right click and select properties from the menu. Go to 'Previous Versions' in the properties menu and select one of the previous restore points, open it and then copy over your saves. But when I actually went into that menu there wasn't any option for 'Previous Versions'. 2. download and run iBoysoft data recovery: https://iboysoft.com/data-recovery/free-data-recovery.html. The software only find parts of the old autosaves... If you can’t find any, my understanding is that by default only three autosaves are kept. If you have 3 autosaves and a fourth is created, it will overwrite the first autosave. If all you have are autosaves after the point of becoming a vampire, then there literally is no save before that point. Hard saves are never overwritten.
