Great idea! However, I would probably use the languages already in the game... Steam tells me I can play the game in english, french, italian, german, spanish, japanese, and chinese. That way, making the mod would only require that you have all the language files and it may be able to read them...? I've never made a mod, but I think that making another language would require a lot of work... Anyways, back to your suggestions for languages, I think that the imperials should speak Italian. They rule over a vast empire, and they're foreign in skyrim. everything about them reminds me of holy rome. nords could speak german, as people in iceland (where I think nords would be from) would speak a language similar to swedish or danish, a northern germanic language. The kahjiit come from eslewhere, and I sense a thick spanish accent in some of them (or it could be some other language) They could possibly speak spanish for that reason alone. The argonians and dark elves come from a swampy area, villed with volcanic ash. Hawaii is in the pacific, and so is Japan. The argonians and dark elves could speak japanese. The high elves live on islands. They also conquered a part of a rainforest (africa). This sounds a lot like britain. The high elves could speak english, and the wood elves (who lived in valenwood, the rainforest), could also apeak english because they were conquered by an english speaking people. the redguard come from a desert and wear desert attire. nevertheless, there are no arabic languages. the redguards also are occasionally cold blooded killers. this reminds me of those chinese villains in the movies that are very sinister. the redguard could speak chinese. the bretons could possibly speak french, because they exhibit signs of rebellion, and those who tried to oppose were throttled mercilessly. this reminds me of napoleon, as the bretons have their fair share of war heroes, and after the great battles of breton commanders, the empire quarantined high rock to stop future uprisings, much like napoleon's vast empire taken over by the rest of europe. orcs have been dispersed among the lands of tamriel after their failures in battle. they live in tribes, and that reminds me of mongolian. they are fierce warriors, and mongolia is near china, so i think that the orcs could speak chinese. for a summary: imperials italian nords german kahjiit spanish argonians/dunmer japanese high elves/wood elves english redguard chinese bretons french orcs chinese these languages are all thought of logically and for a reason, while still keeping the original language packs available in the game. however, keeping english subs would be a great idea. that way, I don't need to know all of the languages to play the game.
