  1. site works fine for me for now, so at least there's a place to go back to if all goes to hell. but a new design sounds cool. eager to see what happens as y'all go along. to be honest, the old design could use some reworking, now that i look closer at it.
  2. In response to post #16366725. #16371155, #16377350 are all replies on the same post. Nah, we're just dependent on Gabe Newell. XD
  3. In response to post #16410815. #16416795, #16440580 are all replies on the same post. Your first mod: http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Greybeard%27s_Robe Follow that guide, and I think you will find Skyrim modding a lot easier than it sounds!
  4. In response to post #15741120. I know the feeling. There are some REALLY ignorant people out there. I personally use combofix, SOME malwarebytes (haven't needed it for a while), adblock, noscript, and flash block. There are some russian sites that will give you some crazy fbi virus... that was a NIGHTMARE. seriously, though. People actually download music.mp3.exe I also suggest that if it says "download with manager/accelerator" that you uncheck that EVERY TIME. almost ALWAYS a virus. plus, if your search engine is something like conduit/gamewrangler (my mother's chromebook's first "virus")/some crazy european site, then combofix is probably a good option. also, check your control panel for things like "search protect" other than that, don't download things like playpickle (for surveys, game currency, etc.) don't click the big green flashing low res download button (that even says ilivid on the bottom in small print!) always look for the crappy ye old internet download button that changes when you put your mouse over it and it grey with small text. so many things to do to protect yourself, and yet, people still depend on anti-virus to keep them out of trouble. waste of space, ram, bandwidth, and money.
  5. You have to be careful who you sell advertising to... there's fake ad fly flash updaters that actually infect syswow64 on win7. these usually appear in cheesy sites like mediafire and 4shared. as for the suggested virus scans, I prescribe combofix. it's free and it pretty much fixes everything virus-related. (win7 and below only) I just wonder, with all the people using mod organizer daily, why the hacker didn't make the skyui file a newer version, so that when a person opened up the manager, that it would say that there is an update available for that mod, and when they updated, then they would download the virus, even if they already had skyui before the hack and weren't going to download it unless it were an update?
  6. Great idea! However, I would probably use the languages already in the game... Steam tells me I can play the game in english, french, italian, german, spanish, japanese, and chinese. That way, making the mod would only require that you have all the language files and it may be able to read them...? I've never made a mod, but I think that making another language would require a lot of work... Anyways, back to your suggestions for languages, I think that the imperials should speak Italian. They rule over a vast empire, and they're foreign in skyrim. everything about them reminds me of holy rome. nords could speak german, as people in iceland (where I think nords would be from) would speak a language similar to swedish or danish, a northern germanic language. The kahjiit come from eslewhere, and I sense a thick spanish accent in some of them (or it could be some other language) They could possibly speak spanish for that reason alone. The argonians and dark elves come from a swampy area, villed with volcanic ash. Hawaii is in the pacific, and so is Japan. The argonians and dark elves could speak japanese. The high elves live on islands. They also conquered a part of a rainforest (africa). This sounds a lot like britain. The high elves could speak english, and the wood elves (who lived in valenwood, the rainforest), could also apeak english because they were conquered by an english speaking people. the redguard come from a desert and wear desert attire. nevertheless, there are no arabic languages. the redguards also are occasionally cold blooded killers. this reminds me of those chinese villains in the movies that are very sinister. the redguard could speak chinese. the bretons could possibly speak french, because they exhibit signs of rebellion, and those who tried to oppose were throttled mercilessly. this reminds me of napoleon, as the bretons have their fair share of war heroes, and after the great battles of breton commanders, the empire quarantined high rock to stop future uprisings, much like napoleon's vast empire taken over by the rest of europe. orcs have been dispersed among the lands of tamriel after their failures in battle. they live in tribes, and that reminds me of mongolian. they are fierce warriors, and mongolia is near china, so i think that the orcs could speak chinese. for a summary: imperials italian nords german kahjiit spanish argonians/dunmer japanese high elves/wood elves english redguard chinese bretons french orcs chinese these languages are all thought of logically and for a reason, while still keeping the original language packs available in the game. however, keeping english subs would be a great idea. that way, I don't need to know all of the languages to play the game.
  7. I'm getting a ctd as well. tried reinstalling with no success. very weird, happened right after I started installing mods, but after a fresh install it hasn't gone away. Same as OP, Hadvar says get back, game crashes. Going to try deleting EVERYTHING about skyrim and retry.
