  1. Allright!! I got SkyRe installed. Put in a few hours before I set up the uncapper the way I wanted my playthrough to be. I settled on Master Difficulty. I set it up to give 2 perks lvl1-9, 3 perks lvll10-29, 3perks 30+. I figure if I feel too op I can always leave it at 2 or 3 perks after lvl 30. I changed mag/hp/stamina per level to 20/30/40 at the same level groups as perks. So 1-9, 10-29, 30+. There are some pretty cool tweaks on the uncapper and it's really easy to understand once you REALLY read it lol. I might even give myself an exp boost for perks. Some are a ton harder to train than others. SkyRe is great so far. I actually damage stuff! They do about the same to about twice as much damage as vanilla Legendary. I get 1 hit from bow/xbows all the time. It takes about the same effort to kill someone from behind as vanilla legendary, but its 3 times as hard to sneak up. Sometimes they see me from a mile away and still see me even if i run to the next town over... I think it's a bit too long to be searching for me, but i'm trying to make due. I have a feeling its only going to get tougher, but its been managable so far. I really wanted for backstabs to do a bit more damage, but I am seemingly fighting things above my level. Its quite hard to locate anything that is "weaker" than i. Progress is slow, but rewards have been improved by a lot. I'll report in again in a day or so of game play.
  2. For reasons known, I cannot use NMM. I'm plenty okay with that. How would I install SkyRe manually? Many hours of google searching has led me on a wild goose chase, but I would like some help if possible. A simple step by step would be nice. This file goes here type of thing. Thanks in advance.
  3. Little update. Finally found a character select mod on the game that works like a dream. Stil lleveling my "dagger/thief/toomuchthief" lol. I've been spamming courage on my companion to raise my illusion skills up. Pretty easy faceroll/farm for it since i'm so far behind on it. So pickpocket is level 200 lol. 100+legendary 100. sneak is 75 ish. daggers aren't one hitting the tankier monsters, but i don't mind it at all. Keeps me on edge a little. Trying to find my groove with soul trap. I'd like to enchant but it doesnt seem like I can fit it into all the stuff i already have to work on lol. Oh! I killed 1.9 dragons!! lol. A dragon attacked me in front of a cave i fast traveled to and a bear tanked it for me. Finally got to kill it! lol. Second dragon also in the forest. I ran around spamming arrows, hiding under a rock and getting my companion to tank it. after about 10-15 minutes I had it down to 10%... all of a sudden it loses aggro and flies away. I was sad for a little bit... lol I gotta say, I'm really glad i stuck to legendary. I will probably try a mod next SkyRe sounds rough, but I like the concept of many of his skill changes and gameplay cahnges. The parts I don't like I'll just have to see for myself. Any thoughts on SkyRe? Anyone play it on legendary? Sounds reaaaallllyyy difficult lol.
  4. Yeah, That was my initial plan from level 1 affter staring at the perks for an hour LOL. I knew legendary was gonna be rough, but not 'run away from most every dragon and reload boss fights a few times' rough. I'll look into locating the spells, I was too busy trying to clear my quest screen lol. I don't think its possible!!! Yeah i actually looked up the shouts out of curiousity, sounds like Voice Throw is the one that will give me the most enjyment <3. Actually before i entered the dark brotherhood I snuck up Valley of Redoubt and stole the Ethereal Voice. Snuck all the up and past the boss fight. They auto detect you after you take the shout so i sprinted and jumped off the mountain's waterfall. Was pretty epic lol. <3 fast travel. It took me like 10+ levels to figure out it even existed... lol. Yeah I don't use my bow for damage as much as i should. I tend to use it only to draw enemies where i want them or to kite them a little, but never really tried for extensive damage. Will try. I play on pc so I can quick save before I do ANYTHING. I usually save after an event. Like I finally killed 6 guards within a small area or i leveled up something or before i pickpocket something with a very very small chance to pickpocket. ROFL. I met one in the beginning from Riverwood to WHiterun. I snuck past it only cause i remember an NPC telling me that i shouldnt fight them lol. I've got to say that Legendary difficulty was not in the original Skyrim; it showed up AFTER many players already had a lot of Skyrim experience. I'm actually impressed that you have gotten as far as you have, and still like the game. Legendary is meant to be hard for even experienced Skyrim players. Learning the game's subtle points is most of the fun and I don't want to spoil any of that for you, so I'll just say that Skyrim was not meant to seem "fair" on Legendary difficulty. Legendary "only" affects combat damage; "they" do more, you do less. You're probably "behind the curve" as far as combat skill is concerned, but "pickpocketing and sneaking around" is EXACTLY what a thief does. You know what the problem is and you're working on it. Many players would have given up by now. Keep going, I say. I'd actually like to hear more of your experiences as a new player on Legendary. Well it definitely has been a humbling experience. If I'm not on my toes I'm dead. I get a decent cash flow from pickpocketing haha. All that jewelry has me emptying the theives guild's Tonilia (whom i call Teronga Leela because I was too tired to read her name properly) of her 100 gold almost every day lol. 1k a day without having to do jobs... Yeah i probably steal too much LOL. All in all a mod i would like without completely breaking the game, to be able to put out candles for extra sneakiness. Mix in that with my night eye kaijit and i'm having a good time lol. It'd be nice to have npc's react to darkness realistically too. Also for misdirection to TRULY disarm an opponent. I had my first post of it here http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/1218971-the-legendary-thief-true-misdirection/&do=findComment&comment=10160611
  5. I'd like to believe I kite pretty well. Lots of arrows to draw them to places I'd like them to be. I always scout around for usable terrain. My one handed ability is 60ish, pickpocketing was past legendary, my sneak just reached 55-60 as well. I've gotten dragons to about 50% before i made a mistake and got 1 hit by ice/fire blasts. I take very light offense to say i'm one to stand still and take a hit lol. I've let my companions die because i have to draw out fights from 10-20 minutes of kiting. It's become drastically easier since I got into the dark brotherhood and do the 30x sneak damage (needs nerf imo), but you are correct in saying that I pretty much had a non combatant character. I believe I did OKAY for going almost pure dual daggers, but I do get facerolled by an npc or 10. I focused using my cash for light armor trainings and tryng to find/enhance daggers. For one handed ability, I got my points into damage and dual attack speed so far. Oh and the 25% less stanima cost for power attacks perk. Anything other than those skills are pretty much useless. The only other skill to get is dual savagery for crits and i'm not of level yet. Unless bladesmen perk counts daggers. the rest I'm pouring into lightarmor and sneak unfortunately its my crafting that has suffered the most. I am playing major catch up and mass building hide and iron items whenever i can lol. I also neglected enchanting as a whole because the game never explained to me how to trap souls, but I figured it out all too recently.
  6. Hey guys, I just got skyrim a few days ago and lets just say that I haven't slept in a couple of days lol. I conciously decided to not play any difficutly but legendary lol. So I'm here now with a few questions. How come people are saying this games combat system is faceroll easy or just too easy to really enjoy? I see all these overhaul and combat mods saying that it needs to be harder and I'm on the pessimistic side thinking i'm the worst player ever. Ever ever. I think the combat is fine, but I'm definitely far from a 200+ hr veteran. This playthrough I decided to go dagger assassin/thief. I have to say, running into a pack of wolves made me feel like a child lost in the woods. I mean each hit was probably taking 1-5% even with power hits lol. I am currently level 35 ish and unfortunately reached it by pockpocketing and sneaking around. The only reason i ever survived is that I had to google how to get a companion =/. Not proud of that moment. That being said my one handed ability is easily trained probably due to the fact that I still do 1-5% dmg per hit lol. A well armored opponent can take an entire 3 hit full power dual dagger attack at barely reach 50%. Then I have to smack them 50 more times while I try to get them to aggro my companion. Too many times has my companion died trying to tank a stronger opponent. Don't get me started on dragons... Need 10 npc's and 20 hard minutes lolol. I'm gonna stop the QQ lol. Either way, I can see the need to improve weapons/armors/ui/perks/spells for better synergy and maybe better scaling, with a few well needed nerfs (sneak op and i've heard alc is op?) but difficulty? Jeez. I can't see it.
  7. Helllo, I'm new to skyrim and I have pretty much just started an assassin/thief and refuse to play anything other than legendary... Sigh thats a sad story for another day lol. Anyways, I would truly enjoy my character if I had a slight leg up on the competition by having stolen equipped weapons actually disappear for use. I just tried it a few times on some town NPC's and even though I have stolen their equipped weapon, they can still draw it and abuse me in a fight. It is near impossible to one hit someone in legendary unless you knew what you were doing beforehand lol. I pretty much leveled to lvl35 with barely any damage because of pickpocketing and sneaking lol. I've use invis potions to sneak past certain thu'um/shout bosses and just run away afterwards lol. That being said I think it isn't too much to ask for. Of course we will limit it from bosses and maybe friends/foes that ar a certain amount of levels higher than your current level, but not killing somone in one hit usually results in a 10 minute fight in which i have to run around and fiture out how to hit them without hitting me lol. All in all, I just want true disarm because they could probably 1v1 with their fists anyways... I get 1-2 hit more than i care to admit. I have points in light armor and 1 handed weapons. Currenlty running 2 glass daggers with little to no enchantments/enhancements. Even with a companion i have to sit there and and wail on them for a good 100+ strikes until they die. It'd be night to feel a little safer in those fights after i disarm them.
