Bit late but i just found this: https://madebyjase.com/game-pauser/ Works perfectly for kcd in my experience, you have to choose the phone option because kcd blocks keyboard inputs during cutscenes or something. Hope this helps someone because it took me 3 playthroughs to find it lol.
