  1. I can't believe it, but I want to report 1 full week without a SINGLE CTD, purple/black texture or error. I've even ADDED a couple mods since the thread started since the game was so stable for 48 hours. After properly installing ENBoost and tweaking the .ini (from last post), I have resolved my issues and REALLY hope that this short-lived thread can help others!
  2. I just wanted to say that for the last couple of hours I've been playing CTD-free by utilizing ENBoost and tweaking the enblocal ini to my satisfaction. Here's my enblocal settings if it helps anyone else with 4gb graphics cards... 3. That's some really good input. I disabled those other 2 mods and still got random CTD's so I turned them back on. I can play for about 10-15 minutes and then no matter what I'm doing it will CTD. I could be walking outdoors where there's virtually no enemies aside from some wolves 50ft away and then BAM, CTD. Or, like a few minutes ago before checking this thread again, I was in the Riften Jail sneaking around. I literally found a spot to hide and wasn't moving at all; just watching a guard and then BAM, CTD. So indoors, outdoors, NPC/enemy spawns, none of it seems to matter. The game just gives up after 10-15minutes of play time so I'm constantly F5ing and just firing the game back up :(
  4. Excellent info! I'm going to deactivate Immersive Creatures and Wet+Cold....I can live without them for now. And yeah, Ugridstoload=9 was beautiful but I had to go back to 5 due to CTD's there...and yes, I started a whole new game ;)
  5. ***Issues completely fixed. Skyrim has been CTD-free since the date of my last post on this thread.*** Hey guys; first off THANK YOU for reading this. I will be as descriptive as possible as to my issues regarding my Skyrim experience. I have been installing mods for TES since 2003. I have a VERY firm understanding of how mods, load order, LOOT, NMM etc etc work but I am NOT a guru of everything which is why I am here... MY ISSUE(S): I have near 100 mods installed and have followed (as meticulously as possble) all of the install order/patch/load order/compatibilities lists SUPER closely. Now, I am getting random CTD's while playing. Sometimes I can't load a quick save after and have to resort to loading an autosave or manual save. Also, as a secondary issue, Skyrim seems to be unable to access all of my VRAM (despite SKSE ini tweak) and will load purple/black textures randomly which is fixed by saving and reloading at main menu. MY PC: Windows 10, i7-4790k, 2 way GTX 970's, 500gb SSD, 16gb 1866 RAM, 850w PSU. Only a slight overclock on GPU's, doesn't affect other games. Other info: Skyrim is installed to C:\program files(x86)\steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim, running latest game version, running ALL DLC, NMM, LOOT, SKSE 0 0 Skyrim.esm 1 1 Update.esm 2 2 Dawnguard.esm 3 3 HearthFires.esm 4 4 Dragonborn.esm 5 5 Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch.esp 6 6 Lanterns Of Skyrim - All In One - Main.esm 7 7 ClimatesOfTamriel.esm 8 8 UnlimitedBookshelves.esp 9 9 SkyUI.esp10 a Dual Sheath Redux.esp11 b ClimatesOfTamriel-Dawnguard-Patch.esp12 c WetandCold.esp13 d WetandCold - Ashes.esp14 e ClimatesOfTamriel-Dragonborn-Patch.esp15 f ClimatesOfTamriel-Nights-Level-3.esp16 10 Realistic Lighting Overhaul - Major City Interiors.esp17 11 better_torches.esp18 12 SMIM-DragonbornTernFix.esp19 13 SMIM-FurnitureChestSnowFix.esp20 14 SMIM-DungeonsCliffsIceSkirts.esp21 15 Chesko_WearableLantern.esp22 16 Better Dynamic Snow.esp23 17 Moss Rocks - Legendary.esp24 18 AmazingFollowerTweaks.esp25 19 dD - Enhanced Blood Main.esp26 1a dD-Reduced Splatter Size.esp27 1b dD-Reduced Wound Size.esp28 1c When Vampires Attack.esp29 1d 3DNPC.esp30 1e KS Hairdo's.esp31 1f CalienteVanillaArmorTweaks.esp32 20 Realistic Lighting Overhaul - Dungeons.esp33 21 Realistic Lighting Overhaul - Dawnguard Interiors.esp34 22 Book Covers Skyrim.esp35 23 Skyrim Immersive Creatures.esp36 24 SkyFalls + SkyMills + DG + DB.esp37 25 Skyrim Immersive Creatures - DLC2.esp38 26 SFO - Dragonborn.esp39 27 SkyFalls Dragonborn Small waterfalls.esp40 28 dD-DG-DB-Immersive Creatures EBT Patch.esp41 29 Guard Dialogue Overhaul.esp42 2a Hothtrooper44_ArmorCompilation.esp43 2b WATER DG + DB.esp44 2c SDO Full-LOD - Waterfall Effects.esp45 2d Immersive Weapons.esp46 2e aMidianborn_Skyforge_Weapons.esp47 2f Footprints.esp48 30 OMageReplacerPack.esp49 31 Males of Skyrim.esp50 32 dD - Realistic Ragdoll Force - Realistic.esp51 33 Sundys_Male_Presets.esp52 34 RealisticHumanoidMovementSpeed.esp53 35 Reduced Distance NPC Greetings.esp54 36 Perks Per Level.esp55 37 RaceMenu.esp56 38 RaceMenuPlugin.esp57 39 Inconsequential NPCs.esp58 3a Run For Your Lives.esp59 3b Realistic Lighting Overhaul - Minor Cities and Town Interiors.esp60 3c FNIS.esp61 3d Hothtrooper44_Armor_Ecksstra.esp62 3e AMB Glass Variants Lore.esp63 3f Differently Ebony.esp64 40 Cloaks.esp65 41 SDO Full-LOD - Whiterun Trundra Creeks.esp66 42 Populated Cities 2.esp67 43 SMIM-FarmhouseFlickeringFix.esp68 44 SMIM-ShackRoofFixes.esp69 45 SMIM-ShackRoofFixesDragonborn.esp70 46 Skyrim Flora Overhaul.esp71 47 SDO Full-LOD - Giant Campfires.esp72 48 Equipping Overhaul.esp73 49 1nivWICCloaks.esp74 4a Inconsequential NPCs - Enhancement.esp75 4b 1nivWICSkyCloaksPatch.esp76 4c Cloaks - Dawnguard.esp77 4d OMageCommonRobesV2.esp78 4e OMageCommonRobespatch.esp79 4f MoreSoundOptions.esp80 50 V740T_MGolDinS&M.esp81 51 CampingKitNorthernRanger.esp82 52 Alternate Start - Live Another Life.esp83 53 Dual Sheath Redux Patch.esp Again, THANK YOU so much for taking the time to read this.
  6. ahhhh looting the crates in balmora :) memories...I remember when I first started playing that's what I did thinking "I'm so dang sneaky" and I'd get so excited when I'd find an exclusive potion in a crate
  7. I wanted to pick Ald-Ruhn so bad because of the awesome Manors in Skar, but it just doesn't have the same flair that Balmora has...gotta love the one-stop-shopping!
  8. If by cheating you mean RP-experience-breaking stuff like stealing, then buying some cheap soul gems and either soul trap spell or scrolls is the way to go. Trapping rats and nix hounds may seem trivial, but they can net some serious gold for low level characters! 400 gold for a rat in a common gem or 800 gold for a guar in a common gem! Visit the pawn shops often and always snatch up gems and soul trap EVERYTHING! Happy hunting :)
  9. Been playing Morrowind since GOTY. Morrowind, while having an inferior combat and physics engine while having a much better UI and travel system, is imo 3x more immersive on its own than Oblivion. With the total sum of mods for both games out there today (including a VERY complete library of high poly models for almost every object in the game and texture replacers that exceed the stock textures of Oblivion), Morrowind vs. Oblivion is "6 one way and half-a-dozen the other". I'm running 100's of mods on Morrowind and about 50+ mods on Oblivion and with them both tricked all the way out it is truly for me just "Do I want to experience Vvardenfell or do I want to experience Cyrodill?" My advice to new Morrowind players is: take your time and really think about all the necessary things that need to be changed. There WILL be a mod for EVERYTHING! After that, download 100's of mods that simply add to the awesomeness of TES:III world.
