[Mod Request] Walk in first person mode
JohnC2211 replied to UlfricsRevenge's topic in Red Dead Redemption 2's Mod Ideas
Would love this feature. -
Inspired by the E3 Weed Pipe Mod, it appears that such a modification is possible and since playing Kingdom Come Deliverance I thought that it is quite a shame that Geralt can very rarely interact with the world around him. By that, I mean sitting at a bench in a pub, or lying down on a bed outside of his villa in Toussaint, leaning against a wall, brushing his horse. All of the animations exist in the game and it is clearly possible to trigger those animations in other mods, but the ability to do so is beyond my expertise. I think that even if the animations played no purpose, they would be great for immersion.

Witcher 3 - Ghost mode vs Enchanced Edition
JohnC2211 replied to BcSeed7's topic in The Witcher's The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
Ghost Mode was made and developed out of a general love of the vanilla experience and seeks to tweak and improve things. The Enhanced Edition was made and developed out of a seething hatred of the vanilla experience and seeks to overhaul things as much as possible. I personally prefer the Enhanced Edition but the learning curve is steep and you will likely be beaten by the starting ghouls numerous times. -
Has anyone tried to make a player home?
JohnC2211 replied to caynine's topic in The Witcher's The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
What a stupid response. It would be nice to get player homes before then, or at the very least, a usable bed and armour stand in each region. It wouldn't even be difficult. Velen, use Ciri's room at Crows Perch. Novigrad, use the suite at the top of the Rosemary and Thyme, Skellige use Yen's room. -
I imagine it's theoretically possible as multiple coloured Kanji exist in the game for the buffs/heals/debuffs etc. But it's whether or not the game files themselves make a distinction between the different perilous attacks. If the files are set up to for eg if->periloussweep play->kanji.jpg then it may be good. If it's just if->perilous play->kanji,jpg it may be trickier.
-
I find that the actual presence of the Perilous Kanji interferes with me reading the enemies' movements and I often mis-read a thrust as a sweep, etc. I play on an Xbox controller and feel like coloured kanji for each type of perilous attacks would assist somewhat, though I am mindful that it may make the game a little too easy. For e.g: red kanji as it is now for thrust attacks (as you use B on the Xbox controller, which is red, to counter it), green kanji for sweep attacks (as you use A on the Xbox controller, which is green, to counter it), and grab can stay as is as dodging it is the best defence. Or, if it's possible to simply remove the danger kanji, that would be a good option too.

Just looking for a pointer in the right direction. I really like two Yen texture mods, the MKM Yen and the CBY Yen originally posted by MKM9999 and os4s respectively. Both mods, essentially, make Yen a bit curvier. Generally speaking I prefer CBY's mod because the shape of everything is more proportionate. However, MKM has a really nice mesh/texture for the Alt-DLC outfit which gives Yen some underboob, see picture 2 here https://staticdelivery.nexusmods.com/mods/952/images/873-0-1445510799.jpg Would there be a way to extract both mods and, basically, create a new mod for personal use that is essentially CBY's mod, but with MKM's alt-DLC outfit file. What tools would I need for this and can anybody point me in the direction of a tutorial, as this is not something I have attempted before.

The game version on the main menu has not changed but since installing From Ashes, all of my mods have stopped working. Does anybody know if it's just a quick and dirty change (such as adding the mod manifest files like we used to do) or do I need to wait for mods to be updated manually by the authors.
-
Oh god, yes. Especially since 1.08 broke the X5 Ghost, and stock mods recolor the entire gun to brown now. I know, right? There's a mod floating around that replaces the Mattock texture with the Halberd texture so surely it's possible.
-
A mod which removes the aesthetic changes to a gun while applying mods. I don't like that my assault rifle is 3 different colours.

Even if it was something simple like being able to bind the roll animation to a key which we press as we land. I'd take that over nothing.
-
Would there be any possible way to create a mod which allows you to roll as you hit the floor from a drop/jump to eliminate/mitigate fall damage? The roll animation is somewhat in the game with the Sneak skill.

Interesting, I have Better Vampires installed and never come across this! Forgive my ignorance but could you tell me how to perform the bite finisher?
-
I was thinking more along the lines of staying in human form, and having it just be a random kill-cam finisher. Or perhaps have it linked to a button of some sort. Although I think you might be onto something there with another mod - Instant Transformations for Vampire and Werewolf perhaps?
-
You know the bite power attack you can do to finish people off in Vampire Lord form? I'd love to occasionally trigger that as a kill move in human form. Could this be done?
-
I'm sure there is some variable within the creation kit which corresponds to cast time, I unfortunately do not have access to the creation kit right now nor do I have the talent to use it!
-
Anyway to reduce the casting time of Wards to 0? I think this would make for a much more dynamic magic duelling system.
-
In my opinion Ward spells should be the "block" for Magic. As a result, I don't find it very dynamic that it takes a good few seconds to charge. I want to be able to press the mouse button to block a fireball, much as I would block a sword strike with a shield. Anyway to do this? Even if it was implemented via a perk so as to not upset balancing issues that would be great.

I love this game, but my main pet peeve from the get go has been the anime-sized Greatswords. I would love to just have a hand and a half sword, or a bastard sword. Hell, even some of the longswords in DA look as if they could be wielded with two hands. Are there any existing mods out there that shrink greatswords to a better length? I'm aware of Dals Weapon Scale or whatever it's called, but in my opinion the pommel looks too big in his mod, being about a third the size of the blade. Would there be anyway to make a longsword two handed, using the same animations as a two handed sword, but keeping the scale?

Back in the good old days when I downlo.. Err, brought Oblivion for the PC, I was amazed at the amount of modifications that were available for it. My 360 experience got very stale after 150+ hours, but the PC version awoke my Oblivion-ness and I ended up spending at least 100 more hours on that game. One of my favourite modifications for that game was a Music Replacer which basically removed the ingame music and replaced it with the LOTR soundtrack. The results were epic, to say the least. I'm unfamiliar with modding beyond really basic GDA manipulation, so I am unsure whether something like this would be possible in Dragon Age, but if it was, I'd love to see it happen.
-
I would love this idea, I really would. Both of the ideas above are really good; kind of make me want to write a fanfic! Even just an expanding of the original Mage origins would be good, like first discovering your magical prowess, etc etc.
-
Thanks for all the feedback guys, they all seem like really good ideas, and you seem to have managed to decipher my random thoughts! Kudos. Would love to see this implemented. Unfortunately I don't possess the skill with modding to make this myself.

A Finally Decent Shapeshiting Specialization
JohnC2211 replied to Myst42's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Mod Ideas
Not exactly what you're looking for, but I suggest you check out Shapeshifter Plus on the Bioware Social site. It makes Spellpower actually have an impact on you're damage, adds a Dragon form for Master Shapeshifter, and improves the other forms. It removes the charge time from the spells, and there is an instant version too.
