  1. I too have this problem. Oblivion starts, the splash screen appears, after choosing to proceed it then displays the little irritating movies, the loading screen appears and the red bar quickly fills up. Until there is just a smidgeon left...and there it sits..and sits...and sits. I have uninstalled twice using REVO, I repaired my Win 7 in case a registry bug existed I removed oblivion.ini by renaming it when I reinstalled Oblivion I used a different HDD thats only 2 months old I downloaded my original installation files from D2D and used them for the new installation I used OBMM to only run oblivion.esm. with no mods at all I used to run this just fine in the past but I have installed a new MB (MSI 770T-c35), video card (Nvidia GTX 465) and CPU (AMD Phenom X4 9950). Oblivion hates me and in a moment of rage I threatened to install the Witcher instead so I could get limbered up for Witcher II. But I really wanted to run Oblivion with my rebuilt rig so I could finally play at decent frame rates with all menu items set at ultra high. I know I'm probably missing something simple that is probably staring me in the face but two or more heads are better than one. -Thanks ahead of time.
  2. Jenrai, Thanks for the info on your G500. Also, I used this thread because of the nature of the original which was errors in keyboard mapping. I figured that mapping the mouse problem was the same type of issues that we see in the thread above. I guess I need to dig into the specific issue better so that my postings are more appropriate to the problem at hand. Thanks also for the gentle prodding to find a better thread thats more specific to my mouse problem. -Aagar
  3. I seem to have a problem with mapping to my mouse or something. For example, when I hold the left click button to shoot an arrow I either end up with a sudden OTS switch or my field of view snaps about 30 degrees to the left. My character is getting whiplash with all this crazy activity. The worst part is that the left mouse button doesn't have to be mapped to some other function. I tried to narrow this down by dumping some of my suspect mods, trying 2 different mice with the same results. I am currently using a logitech G500 gaming mouse that can be remapped to essentially anything you want. (a side note here, the mouse has a "tail" of braided threads instead of a conventional plastic coated wire.) My other mouse is a 848nm wireless logitech mouse that can also have the mouse keys remapped to another function. The G500 is about 3 weeks old while the 848nm is about 1 year old.
  4. Just wanted to give hope to all of us that were doomed to eternal crashes and freezes. Good news; windows 7 RTM runs Oblivion almost flawlessly. I have now put 50 hours on a new character and not one CTD!!! still get the occational freeze right after I quit the game, but its not a big deal.
  5. I was getting to a point where Oblivion was impossible to play in Vista. Then Vista SP2 came out and I'm happy to say that Oblivion now won't run at all...This forced me to reboot into my windows 7 (build 7600) partition and load Oblivion. I have only been playing with this for 2 days now but no CTDs at all, not even crash when exiting. Windows 7 has a good batch of drivers onboard so I think that one of the Vista SP2 drivers were at fault. All I know is that Oblivion is playing better than it ever has over the last 2.5 years.
