  1. I have tried all sorts of combinations and timing, doesn't seem to matter. It just works sometimes, and not others
  2. This can happen no matter what mods you have, or don't have. Its a flaw with the adoption system and has been a known problem since Hearthfires was released, I've seen it and read about others having the same problem for years.
  3. Has anyone successfully worked out why it is that adoptions sometimes (often) just don't work? As in: you adopt a kid, they say "i have to get my things together and say goodbye to everyone!" then... never go anywhere. And then you cannot adopt any other kids, it only gives you the "no I don't have a home" option in the dialog. And, in seemingly unrelated areas, you sleep and get the parent blessing as if you slept in your home with your kid. This has been around forever, does anyone have any idea what this is or how to address it? Sofie is just gonna die out there in the cold...
  4. I haven't removed any mods manually, and have no bashed or merged mods. I' doing nothing differently than I ever have. The only thing new is that after months I finally was able to get Skyrim AE working again so I wonder if there's not some un upgraded mod that is confusing things. I've tried to upgrade absolutely everything, but some of the mods I use don't come from Nexus any more (like Lockpick Pro)
  5. Yeah I don't touch those, just MCM. Could it be the new version of LOOT?
  6. I looked and could not find this topic, although I did find an old one similar to this involving Baldur's Gate 3. What is happening is that I built a new Skyrim AE game changing mods from the previous one, eliminating some and adding others. The game loaded up properly, but it added back old mods I had disabled for this run through. For example, I turned off More Kats Skyrim, but kats are everywhere. I turned off Auri (Song of the Green) but there's her pod on the map. So I disabled them again in the plugins section (they were enabled again in Vortex), loaded the game, which told me a bunch of mods were now not present, and played. Things were fine, until I reloaded the next day, and there they were again, all loaded up. So I went into the Mods section of Vortex, so theoretically they could not load. Same thing happened, though: on a second load up they were all back again despite being disabled in the mods section. I have never seen this before, its new to me with Vortex. Its always worked so well, I cannot understand what its doing.
  7. There is an SE version out now https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/12408
  8. Probably if this was designed, the crown should give you the stone benefit, but not the tree from the second stone
  9. That looks like it might act as a kludge to stop their annoying comments at least
  10. I get that its kind of funny or whatever, but could people who do dialog for followers stop having them complain when they get in your way? I have no control over how the game places me when we zone into an area, and its bad enough to be blocked off without your follower making some snide remark about how you could have asked or telling you to stop stepping on their feet. Just make them polite and get out of the way, the game is about your character, and everyone should step aside.
  11. There is a Thieves Guild for Good Guys mod that kind of does what you are describing here.
  12. Could even give FUS RO DA a taunt element, so it draws dragons within x range to come out and play
  13. I do like that idea. There is a wenches mod that adds some damsels in distress to different places, adding guards but its pretty simple and coarse.
  14. I'd like to have a shout added to the game that challenges dragons in the air. You know, those ones that circle out of arrow range a few times then just fly off no matter what you do. Would be a nice option for non-spellcasters and melee fighters to get the dragon's attention. No damage, no effects, just: make the dragon target you and attack by challenging their status and power.
