  1. Hello! I've searched around plenty for something like this, but I haven't found it, and that seems strange to me. What I'm looking for is something that edits the vanilla settlement walls (and other items that may have glass in them) to make it so that you're not building broken glass. If I were going through the trouble of putting up a wall, I would not be putting broken panes of glass in my windows, and so this has bugged me since day one! I am only looking for this to repair the things that you build, yourself, in settlements. However, if this also affects other things, that is fine - it stands to reason that, after 200 years, people would have learned how to replace window panes or at least get rid of broken ones. I do not want to add new settlement items, I want the currently available ones fixed. (Because I know someone will point me to one of those huge packs containing new items with proper windows, but that isn't what I'm asking..) Is there anything out there that does this? Thanks!
  2. I know this was ages ago, but I found this while Google-searching this issue; this is what fixed it for me! (: Thanks!
  3. Thank you so much for the reply; I hadn't considered that I would actually NEED to make a new perk and simply direct the previous rank to mine rather than the default. However, after following each of those instructions, my change still is having no effect. It seems like selecting the perks is still giving me the default PerMa perks, and looking in the console ("help Alchemist") is showing the three from the PerMa esp, indicated by their first two digits, and now two from my esp, the duplicate I made and edited and the previous rank that I edited. Neither of those are the ones being given to my character, though, when I select them in the perk tree. I've also noticed this time around that my esp, even though I selected Perkus Maximus - Thief.esp as a master file when opening the Creation Kit, doesn't list it as a master file. Is this related to my issue in any way?
  4. Please help? This seems like it should be very simple, but since I'm only poking my inexperienced nose around in the Creation Kit to try and learn on my own, there's only so much I know to do; I've likely missed something insanely obvious here that I need to do to get this working to edit the existing perk instead of creating a new one.
  5. Hello, I am trying to modify the third Alchemist perk in Perkus Maximus to allow the player to learn the fourth ingredient effect by eating the ingredient. I'm new to creating mods, so I may be missing something that is obvious here, but I am having a frustrating time. I am loading up the Creation Kit, selecting the Thief .esp from PerMa, since that's what covers Alchemy, but not selecting an active file, since I want my change to be a new .esp. Next, I'm locating the perk, and I'm fairly certain I'm looking at the right one because it's listed with the same prefix T3ndo gave all the other perks in PerMa and the effects match up to what it does in-game. Looking at the previous perks, they each have the effect of changing the ModifyInitialIngredientEffectsLearned variable, with the function AddValue and a value of 1. In other words, they each increase the number of effects you learn by one. I've mimiced this effect, 100%, by adding the same thing to the third rank, which should allow for that fourth ingredient effect. Then, when I save, I save my changes to a new .esp file and ensure that it is at the bottom of my load order. Still, though, when I get in-game and take the three Alchemist perks, I only learn the first three effects of an ingredient. Typing "help Alchemist" into the console shows me that there are three perks matching the name from PerMa and a new one with the same ID other than the first two digits, and using the console to add that new one to my character allows me to learn the fourth effect. Why is this happening this way? Instead of editing the existing perk, which was my intention, my mod is adding a duplicate perk to the game, hidden from the Skills menu, with the effect I'm trying to get. Thanks in advance. I hope someone can help me understand; I've never modded perks, myself, before.
  6. Hi! There are LOADS of wonderful-looking home mods all over the place, and I really would like to use a bunch of them, in various play-throughs of the game, but I really, really dislike auto-storage (and the usual accompanying automatic crafting ingredient retrieval), and nearly every mod-added home utilizes it. Someone in the comments section of Skyfall Estate helped guide me through the process of editing the mod to remove it specifically from that mod, and it's been wonderful, but I would like to try others as well. So, I'm wondering if there is a way to just disable all auto-storage functions through some sort of SKSE plugin or even an esp? This would be fantastic to be able to just have a mod that stops auto-storage and auto-craftingtoolretrieval (I don't know of a shorthand for this), rather than having to edit each mod to remove it and repeat that every time there's an update.. Thanks in advance for any information!
  7. It's rare that I see a thread get through this forum with 0 replies.. Does nobody have any advice regarding this issue? ):
  8. Hi! I've been using Perkus Maximus for a playthrough to test it out and just to have some fun with it, and I'm adoring it. I've noticed one intentional change, though, that I'm not happy with, and that is one of the Alchemy perk changes. Perkus Maximus moves the ability to lean ingredient effects to the first set of perks, Alchemist Rank 1 and 2, unlocking the second and third ingredient effect, respectively. However, it leaves it up to the player to expiriment to find the final ingredient effect. I can understand the reasoning for this, as it continues to encourage expirimentation at later levels, but I would much rather add the ability back. So, my goal was to make a small patch that re-adds that perk effect to the third rank of Alchemist, since this sequentially makes sense. I examined the vanilla perk that provided these effects and saw that the effect was a Perk Entry, Rank 1, Priority 0. It had the Entry Point bubble selected and was set to 'Modify Initial Ingredient Effects Learned'. The function was set to 'Value', and then the value was set to '4'. Easy enough. I opened Perkus Maximus with the Creation Kit, went to the final Alchemist perk rank (I made sure to edit the PerMa Alchemist perk and not the vanilla one), and added this new perk entry exactly as I had seen it before. I saved my change as a new .ESP file, put that plugin at the bottom of my load order for now to test if it worked, and it.. doesn't. I tested this by removing the perk (I already had it) in the console, then using a perk point to get it back just to make sure it was all functioning normally, and I still don't learn that last effect when eating something. I don't know where to go from there; all logic says it should have worked. This is my first time editing perks, so it's 100% possible that I missed something. Any assistance? I think I was thorough, but if you need more info, please let me know. Thank you in advance! ^_^
  9. I only opened Skyrim.esm using the Creation Kit, and the slow effects had Frost Resistance set to their resist value already, so it doesn't seem like they're broken. I haven't had a chance to play much since I've made a mod file with those other changes. I am using mods that change quite a bit about Skyrim's combat, but I remember this being a bother when I was modless as well, though perhaps to a lesser extent.
  10. Thanks a bunch! Made my .esp and I'll test it out for a bit; it seems logical that it will work, but if not I'll seek more assistance. Thanks again! Edit: With regards to the resist value, it seems to already be set for Frost Resistance, but I can still get hit by a frost spell and take almost no damage but still be slowed to a near standstill. I think I'll simply disable them.
  11. All right, I'm all for realism and difficulty, but one thing I literally cannot stand is the slow effect attached to seemingly every frost spell. Frost resistance doesn't stop the slow effect or even reduce it, which is even more annoying, because it means that even at high levels with maxed resistance, a Frost Mage of a minimal level can keep me from getting to them and cause a gigantic annoyance. I've searched every way I know how to search for a mod that either takes away the slow effect or makes Frost Resistance protect against that slow effect, but I've never found anything. Not even a similar request, and I really cannot imagine that nobody else has ever thought to even ask for this. Does anybody have any ideas or (if it's simple to do) advice for how to accomplish one of these goals? Shorter request: A mod that either removes the slow effect on frost spells OR a mod that makes Frost Resistance potions/enchantments protect against the slow effect of frost spells. Thanks in advance for any information you toss my way. <3
  12. I do enjoy and plan on playing some Fallout games, yes. So, I should invest in a sound card? As for cooling, do you have a suggestion? Once again, no idea how to go pick something compatible.
  13. Well, I did go ahead and make that change; thanks again. I'd like to use more than the on-board sound; that's what I'm doing with this current machine, and I'm not a big fan of the quality. I will either be keeping my good speakers or getting some other similar-quality ones, depending on whether I'm handing this set down along with this computer. They're average speakers that would fall in line with that middle option. Or, do you think I should stick with on-board sound and make the decision later on if it's still bothering me?
  14. Well, I guess I will go ahead and post my final build, then, taking some more of your advice: Case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129179 I'm sticking with this one mostly because I do enjoy the looks of it a bit more. Motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157460 Took your advice on this one; I don't know enough about this piece of hardware to know what the differences mean, but you said the minor changes do add up to a better motherboard. Power Supply: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139044 This was the one I picked out based on the first build you showed me, and I think it was one of the ones you just linked in your last post, too. Processor: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116901 Hard Drive: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822145912 SSD: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA0AT0PC2604 Fans/Cooling: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835181032 I think this is the same one from the first build you linked to, but I had trouble matching up product numbers between Newegg and that other site.. Video Card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127770 Swapped to this one, at your suggestion. Memory: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820313449 Optical Drive: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827135247 Sound Card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16829132006 This was the one listed on that first build, as well, but Newegg doesn't currently have it in stock, so I'll be waiting for them to get it, unless you have another suggestion. As far as keyboard, mouse, etc, I planned to get the tower up and running first, then replace my current keyboard and such. Other than the monitor, which is an HP w2207 (that's what it says on the front), everything else is USB, so there shouldn't be any problems, right?
  15. I'm actually going with exactly what you suggested, plus this optical drive: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827135247 Other than that, I literally went with that first build you showed me. As I said, I have no experience in picking parts and no idea what to look for, so really no grounds on which to go picking things out on my own. And, with prices converted to US, ordering through Newegg, it leaves me with some money in my budget to pick out a nice monitor, keyboard, speakers, etc. (: -- Just an edit in case I wasn't specific enough.. This was the build I meant: I followed it part for part, and added that optics drive I linked.
  16. Thank you very much for all of the assistance, everyone. :) Now, when I do get the parts, piece it together, etc.. Do I simply install my operating system and I'm good to go? Or, are there other steps involved to get the computer ready before the OS?
  17. It's called "optical drive". Lacking an optical drive today is like lacking a water trough and a pole to tie a horse to next to your house. Sorry if I offend the elitists, but some people still like to play older games that use discs. Yup, and I enjoy watching DVDs and whatnot on my computer, occasionally, as well. Plus, isn't that how I would install an operating system, so I can use the computer? o.O
  18. Hm.. I meant, like, to put discs into the computer, actually. Sorry for not really knowing correct terminology. ):
  19. I also noticed that in the first build, which is the one you recommended to me, there's no disc drive.. Or am I just missing it?
  20. This is much more straightforward, thank you. I do notice that there are two hard-drives in that build; is there an advantage to doing so, aside from more space? Also, what does SSD mean? That keeps getting tossed around. To answer the question about knowing anyone at all who can build it for me, I do not, either as a favor or through hiring someone.
  21. Sorry for not getting back to this topic over the weekend. I do appreciate the help, but as I said in my first post, I don't feel comfortable putting this together myself. Is there some way of picking out parts and having it all pieced together somewhere? I also don't know what to do with some of the information provided. I'm 100% inexperienced with computer hardware, so anything unorganized is going to confuse me more than it will help. The parts linked to so far seem great, but then there are other part mentioned, and I can't tell which part some of what you're saying is referencing.
  22. I figured someone who likes doing this might like seeing that number. I definitely appreciate the help!
  23. Hello, Nexus~ I know, just from a quick glance, that this section of the forums is almost nothing but these sorts of threads, so I apologize in advance if I am repeating questions already asked. I am quite comfortable with computer software, but when it comes to computer hardware, I know strictly the basics, and definitely NOT enough to pick out parts. Looking at lists of parts drives me insane, and I never know what parts are compatable with one another, so I desparately need lots of help with this one. I don't even know where to begin shopping, since I don't feel comfortable putting the machine together myself but keep getting told that custom-building would be a better option. --- My budget: $3,000 --- We can have fun with this, I know. (: This does include the computer monitor, which I would like to be a reasonable size. ( This part I feel comfortable picking out, myself. xD ) We don't have to use the whole budget! I don't want to spend money just to spend it, but I'm ready to spend where it's worth spending. --- My Goal: I want this computer to be able to play current games, of course, on the highest settings. A good example would be a heavily-modded Skyrim, not necessarily with lots of texture mods, other than the official high textures, but lightning mods, script-based mods, and those sorts of things all are very attractive to me and just not doable with my current PC. I also want to make sure I'm ready for things to come, so I'm not having to upgrade too much for future titles like Fallout 4 and such. I'm not sure if it makes a difference or not, but I do plenty of online gaming as well as single-player gaming. --- My Limitations (other than budget): As I said, I do not feel too comfortable putting this together myself, so simply ordering the individual parts is less than ideal for me. --- I do need some help with, literally, every aspect of getting this together. My current computer is a basic desktop with a graphics-card upgrade, and before this I was a console gamer, so I really have no clue.. I do apologize for my lack of knowledge here, but I really hope someone can help me out. I cannot think of anything else to type up here, but I am ready to provide more information if needed, so please ask! And thank you, in advance. ~Tsu
  24. I meet Skyrim's minimum requirements and get great framerate with average-high settings. This error occurs, however, even with every setting as low as it can go. This was the first thing I tested. My only changes were to turn logging on and, shortly before that, to adjust the way that arrows fly. The specifics are mentioned a few posts up. When I began a second clean save to see if I crashed in the same spot, I started with an entirely new .ini file, with no changes, and still crashed. I've no DLCs installed, but I will give the Unofficial Patch a try with, again, a completely clean, new save.
  25. Any additional help would be greatly appreciated. I'm not trying to be difficult, of course, but there's no reason I can see that this should be happening, and I would like to get it sorted out before I go about installing the mods I want to play with.
