  1. I'd have totally been down had I known it existed. I appreciate that man, thank you. ^^
  2. Hi guys! Karthaingo here; and I'm trying to learn to make my own mods. I've used so many from other mod authors around here, and I really wanted to take a crack at making some of my own. There are way too many inspirations to really take and make a long list to say thank you to. But to my point; I am trying to learn, and I've figured out a few things here on my own but I am trying to figure out what sorts of tools I need beyond the creation kit to really get crafting the fun stuff like followers, custom weapons and armors, and all kinds of fun stuff. Is there a list of tools that could be helpful to me? I'd prefer the tools be free, but if they are at least reasonably priced that works too. I'll edit this post to include links to whatever tools y'all recommend. Currently, I mostly work with The Legendary Edition, but if I can get the hang of this I'll be cranking them out for whichever version I can muster. I have been advised to check out NifSkope, Blender, and the Creation Kit through Steam, the latter of which I have learned a little bit about to change weapons (but not their appearances), and some of the features about NPC's. Thanks again in advance! Hope to join the likes of you great modders soon!
  3. Thanks for the help guys; I appreciate it. ^^ I'll see what I can't learn about making a patch to do that and try my hand at it.
  4. My apologies, normally I try to be a little more clear. I went back and read it and I didn't realize I was rambling when I posted it. Do you guys happen to know of all of the guards are hard-coded also? I wanted also try my hand at making a mod that made the guards more tough and gives them better gear.
  5. Nah, you guys understand what I mean for the most part; I was trying to basically make an uncategorized list within the Magic menu for custom spells that were put in by other mod authors. I wasn't even sure where to begin to try to make something like that though, so I was kind of hoping that if I elaborated that someone could point me in the right direction of where to look to get started. What I meant by not being able to remember where the spells are, lofgren, is that when I'm digging for those custom spells to control things like FNIS, I often forget what spell category those spells are in. So my goal here was to make a section special for those spells, and remove them from the category they were dropped in initially. But as Matthias and mastabenja pointed out, the lists of spells are hard coded so it'll be harder, if not impossible, to work around it. =-/ Definitely not talking about editing someone else's mod; I'm a firm believer in letting someone else's work alone unless otherwise given permission.
  6. I think this is what I'm aiming for Matthiaswagg, but to be honest I don't really know. It did clear up some other question though that might have been why my other mod didn't work. I didn't think about the guards equipment being hard coded, but I'm still not sure how to check it though. But, back on the mod in question: What I'm trying to do is just add a section to the Magic List, like Destruction, Restoration, Conjuration, etc. The Naming Convention would have something to do with that? I'm still pretty new to the whole mod creation thing; like I only just got the CK a couple of days ago.
  7. Hey guys, How's it going? Karthaingo here, and I'm trying to make a mod but I'm still pretty bad at it. The first one I made (Guard Power, which was intended to make the guards have better and matching gear) didn't work, so I figured I'd try something simpler to see if I couldn't get that to work. What I'm trying to do, is make it so I create a custom list of spells within the Magic section, and move spells from one of the other categories and put it in there instead. But to be perfectly honest, I'm not even sure where to start to do something like this. I figured it'd be pretty handy for all of those custom spells you get from other mods like Amazing Followers Tweaks or WARZONES: Civil Unrest; that way you could just drag them over to this particular section and have them all there so when you go looking for a certain one, you don't have to remember if Call God of Warzones was in Conjuration or Destruction. Any tips on where to start looking? Or is this a project that will likely be too hard for a new mod maker?
