  1. Didn't complete Oblivion's main quest line until I'd played for about 80 hours just doing side-quests. I expect the same to happen in Skyrim. All I have done is fight the scripted dragon.
  2. The only thing that really poses me any threat are those dragon priests that drop the special masks and the dragons themselves. Stealth is really broken in this game with about 80% of the stealth tree and a mix between the thieves guild, brotherhood and Nocturnal sets. I can walk right up to the Draugs without them waking, then hit them once with a dagger for a 30x multiplier thanks to the Dark Brotherhood gauntlets. Starting to feel like a thief/assassin character is OP. :psyduck:
  3. You do have to aim above enemies heads, as you get further away. I personally think it's slightly more realistic that you can shoot for quite a distance before having to compensate for arrow drop.
  4. I always play with the music turned off. Personally it ruins the immersion for me when I can tell I'm being attacked. I love the "OH S**T THERES A WOLF RIGHT BEHIND ME" feeling each time one manages to sneak up on me. I did have it on for the first 10 minutes though because I was too busy admiring the game to mess with the settings and I recall it changing to a battle theme. The defaulting to Nord thing.. I really have no idea why that bothers you since I'm fairly certain nobody calls you a Nord, it just says you're a Nord in the auto-save right before you get to make your character. My only gripe with the game is how annoying attempting to change dual wielded spells can get. p:
  5. I personally was disappointed that I could not fight while on my horse, infact they seem to have took a step backwards from Oblivion. We're now forced to watch ourselves ride in 3rd person without the ability to talk to anyone or interact with anything while on horseback.
  6. lock me out???? In the Fallout games your main character dies at the end of the main storyline. This has never happened with an Elder Scrolls games as far as I'm aware so I guess Jazneo hasn't played much of the TES series.
  7. There's nothing to do with 9/11 in the video. The uploader is just getting trolled. Hard.
  8. There are about 5 outside the blacksmith in the first town you go to on the main quest. I forgot its name.. something beginning with River. They are pretty easy to steal and there are about 5 iron ingots next to them. Most Blacksmiths will also sell them.
  9. @Rydan Thanks for those, especially the list at the end and the skip tutorial one. @Animal Well damn. I'm reading through that thread at the moment and it's exactly what I was looking for. Thanks a lot. :P
  10. I'm sure threads like this are made quite often, and I apologize in advance if it annoys those of you who have been around a while and seen about a thousand of them. So yeah, I'm looking for recommended mods for someone semi-experienced with Oblivion (but almost nill experience at installing the mods.. I got OOO to work once.) What I'd like are mods that change the game aesthetically - as much as possible. I have always hated how characters look in Oblivion, especially the hair, oh god the default hairs.. I have seen some mods on certain screenshots of them looking.. well, a LOT better but have never been able to replicate the results myself, so mods that improve on that are much appreciated. I would also like mods that.. balance the game more. I did like how OOO changed mobs so that they had their own levels rather than leveling with my character making each fight as easy as the last. What I'm looking for is a better, more in-depth version of OOO? If possible I'd also appreciate if I could get links to tutorials on installing the mods. I've read the pages of some mods over and over without understanding it, I'm probably just stupid but I'd really like a very simple way to install mods. I'm looking for something that will eat up the time I'm spending waiting for Skyrim. TL;DR Mods that make the game look better and improve the gameplay overall. I wouldn't mind mods that make the game more realistic either, as long as they're not too hard to turn off after I get tired of having to eat/sleep. =b So yah, thanks for any help.
