ok.. i tried this last night. i might have made an error extracting the files. i couldnt select all of the files within the particular bsa's. i had to click extract all. that might have led to what i had issues with. maybe not. after following all the steps i loaded the game, brought up the console (gamepad players will need to switch over to keyboard controls to bring up the console) typed in coc springvale and poof i was there. whats weird is that practically nothing was theres. thousands of red excalamation points were everywhere. no buildings were there. all megaton was a large crater. couldnt find the door. rivet city was not there, harkness and the other guard were just floating around where they should be. i did find the door to vault 101 but of course its locked. interiors looked normal, but the outside was screwed. are there not other textures to extract? im going to try some expirimentation tonight.

the fallout.ini is read only in win 7. properties>uncheck read only. for others to avoid this issue.

you dont have a lvl 100 mod? you dont have hundreds of extra perks? think of the cross game quest mods! i think it only opens up a huge potential of replayable goodness. my personal favorite idea would be to have nv be accessible to the vault dweller.

well the overriding reason to do it would be because it would be F'n awesome. it would be, according to the feedback im getting, an epic achievement. i'd paypal a few bucks to whoever managed to pull it off.

im enjoying the replies guys. thanks. first of all... i got the idea because i have both games and all dlc already. i would not propose to upload any in game content. this would only work if you had the game and or dlc. that probably makes it more difficult. im not sure at all about how ANY of the modding works. i do see that lots of folks think its a gargantuan task. what i would hope for would be some files that processed YOUR files. again... my ignorance in the modding area really puts me at a disadvantage in talking about it. somebody said its being worked on? is this an individual or a group of people? maybe they could use some help? links to the project? ( i see whoever posted that said they had no links, perhaps someone else does)
