Game update 2.3 (coming on June 26)
Sirandar888 replied to LadyMilla's topic in Cyberpunk 2077's Discussion
Another patch that will do very little for those that play a PC modded game ..... and bring a huge headache. Just when the community was finally releasing excellent mods that modify vanilla locations, and actually fix all the bugs ..... another patch comes that break them all. What will the devs bring to the table to offset all the broken mods ..... and there will be many, especially location mods and they will need to be basically remade by their mod authors. We will see ... all I know as I have already locked my Steam resource allocation file of CP2077. When are the devs going to release patches as mods? Don't say that it can't be done as modders do just that. And YES many mods will probably work once the core dependencies get updates a few times ..... but just as many will take ages or never get updated .... -
Peachu Hair Collection CCXL causing game to crash
Sirandar888 replied to Geirahod's topic in Cyberpunk 2077's Discussion
Sadly this forum is pretty dead and you won't get much help here. That said here are the download numbers for that mod ..... chances are you have bigger problems and your CTDs have nothing to do with Peachu Hair Collection CCXL. CP2077 modding is almost an art .... and a single mod in your list could be causing this issue. If you don't use MO2 .... you really should as if you have more than a few mod it is a necessity. Use MO2 and start your modding again on a brand new save. Only use mods that have at least 20,000 downloads or come from a famous modder ... Play the game for a while until you are sure you have a stable game .... then you can add single mods and know if they cause CTDs. Unique DLs 15,785 Total DLs 31,122 -
Deceptuous describes the problem in his Wilson's Firing Range mod .... https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/7367 "Warning/disclaimer There is a slightly mysterious period of the game between the heist and meeting Takemura at the diner. During this time the range maybe unavailable. Some time (at least 4 hours) after meeting Takemura you can get the call from Wilson about the comptetion, once you have completed the competition, leave the ara and return, the range/mod will now work for the rest of the game" If you use Wilsons Range and try the door to the range during this time .... the game will CTD. That is how bad it is. The mod "Practice makes Perfect" does't work during this time. If you play CP2077 and have the "Playing for Time" quest active ... it is best to see Tak right away .... accessing modded features during this period may mess up your save IMO. It is not mysterious .... it is bugged for mods .... and quite a few mods don't work and may be messing up your save if you use them before seeing Takemura

Whoever thought up the CORPO beginning to CP2077 .... was an artist .... pity they weren't allowed to fully manifest their talents ..... Compare this to the roleplaying abortion that was the beginning of Skyrim, to see the art that devs that created the beginning of the Corpo start of CP2077. The rest of the game has its moments too ..... but I wish they had far more Sandra Dorset moments instead of the morall gray BS ...

ArchiveXL Version 1.22.0 CTD on loading a save
Sirandar888 replied to Sirandar888's topic in Cyberpunk 2077's Discussion
I already guessed that it wasn't an issue with ArchiveXL 1.22 ...... I had time to do some troubleshooting and it was a incompatibility with https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/15549?tab=description Probably due to toggleable feet or that my avatar was wearing these shoes when I updated ArchiveXL 1.20 to 1.22 -
ArchiveXL is a cornerstone mod for CP2077 .... and usually it works perfectly With Version 1.22.0 psiberx is implementing some new features and for my load it causes a immediate CTD when loading a save. He/she also disabled bug reports and comments on this mod. If you are a seasoned modder you probably use MO2 and will know immediately if you have this issue .... this post is not for you. This mod is for people currently setting up their CP2077 load order ... and they will probably not be able to get any mods working because Archive XL is probably the second mod you install. Install version 1.20.1 from the OLD FILES section and you will have no CTDs related to this mod iIt is ONLY Version 1.22.0 that has the issue for me

Mod Request: Make Sebastian's questline optional
Sirandar888 replied to Sirandar888's topic in Hogwarts Legacy's Discussion
I actually quit the game rather than play through this moral mess ..... and then something changed and I could finish the game without completing the Sebastian questline .... = win -
New Update doesn't seem to break any mods
Sirandar888 posted a topic in Hogwarts Legacy's Discussion
New update today doesn't seem to break anything. More importantly it fixed the annoying quick screen blanking that would happen for me periodically ..... which was annoying -
1) The first trick is to invest in a good headset so you can voice command your spells instead of fiddling with keys. I use Voicebot on Steam. If your settings for HL allow for a steady framerate with min lag and you are not CPU bound .... Voicebot works flawlessly and instantly and very accurately even with the actual spell names except for diffindo and flipendo. One need a different name to prevent confusion. 2) Never have both your alt and tab keys bound to frequently used keys in combat ..... HL is leaky and sometimes and ALT-TAB will slip though and bring you to the desktop. 3) The lock key is more of a nuance than a blessing .... bind it far away from WASD and shift to prevent unwanted locks .... I have found too much use of the lock permanently locks the camera and you can't pan or move properly. I use Voicebot to lock. 4) Even if you have a beef PC .... turn fog down to high or even medium ..... Normally it makes no difference but on foggy areas with lots of combatants like the Rookwood final battle .... less chance of crashes or softlocks. 5) Use the Slow Time mod by IcouldifIwantedto ....... It makes the combat way way way more fun .... and eventually you may find you don't even need it anymore. For me .... these 5 made the final battle with Rookwood fun

Now that there is some sort of mod kit, perhaps a modder would have the skills and desire to remove one of my biggest barriers to replayability of HL I find his quests hamfisted and the forced choices out of character with any roleplaying I would do. Morally it a a childish morass too that I would rather avoid. I am not saying to remove the quests ... just make them discretionary
