  2. The only mod I know where you can become a count is Kvatch Rebuilt. However, there is no war between counts. Try looking through David Brasher's modlist for a war mod though. He had one that mimicked a war between two castles that you can participate in, and it's repeatable.
  3. I can't seem to do that. Textures only show up if I have it with the \data\ before the \meshes and \textures directories. That shouldn't be a problem though should it? Everyone has the same structure with the \data folder before their meshes and textures as far as I know... http://i.imgur.com/nAr6G2Z.png Nifskope will auto set the texture path for you as long as the source folder is registered in nifskope. To do this click on "Render/Settings/Add Folder" and then "Folder" to navigate to your mod folder...making sure to select the folder which actually contains the meshes and textures for your mod. So for example if your mod folder has a "Data" folder inside which in turn holds meshes and textures, you would want to navigate to the data folder. Now every time you assign a texture to one of your meshes nifskope will auto crop the texture path to start with just "textures". This is one thing that really matters...if your texture path starts with anything other than textures...people who download your mod will have problems. Oh wow! Neat tip! As long as I've been modding, I never knew that. Thank you for sharing that info.
  4. I wonder where that one's coming from though. If you hide a mod page, it's hidden for everybody, and while you can restrict a certain group of people from accessing your mod page, you cannot restrict access to your mod page to only a certain group of people. That's against the rules and one should rather use a file share host for private sharing like this. It's along the same line as encrypting one's mod file upload with a password. These files will be removed in no time, and in case of repeated infriction despite previous warnings disciplinary actions will be taken against the uploader's account as well. So I'm not quite sure what you mean by this. :ermm: The people I'm refering to no longer have their mods here, but at one point in time they did and would either open it up very briefly to allow public download or give individuals editing access. There was a point on the nexus files that you could grant permission to others to edit files.
  5. Ah, but you're forgetting that the mod may have been originally intended for public use ... until it started getting abused. And the authors I'm talking about are exactly here on the Nexus and this was the case with them. They got tired of people stealing their work and have since put their files on hidden status, only letting select individuals download them. An author can put their files on hidden status that way here at the Nexus. Didn't Saiden Storm ask for his Akatosh Mount mod to be removed after he left the site? You can still find it with a quick Google search though. Yes he did, and those found on other sites are probably done without his permission. That being said, I believe he had also given permission to some individuals to use his assets. It's also quite possible someone may have gotten permission to upload it themselves as well.

  8. Well what Kemipx, and Sergio to a lesser degree, is point out is what if people take mod resources without the author's permission anyways and upload it on another website anyways. Who's going to enforce such rules then on sites outside of Beth/Nexus controls? The rules on this website and other similar are very clear as you point out, but what happens when someone goes beyond those boundries? We know what happens here, but what about those other sites? A specific example is being asked for by Kemipx. Actually, there could be a use to hiding mods. To share them with select individuals only, which really is a shame if you ask me. There is one author that does this that comes to mind. I can agree though that if an author truly cares about their work they'll be sure to take care of it.
  9. Good to see there's a great sense of justice around the world. :rolleyes: Anyways, mod and mod resource stealing unfortunately does occur all the time. And that's why there's several authors, some of whom I know, take down or hide their mods in order to prevent such theft. And this author is also thinking of doing it as well. :thumbsup:

  13. Oh wow, I never knew an author can deactivate those! I'll be sure to do that for my mods.
  14. Don't use NMM for Oblivion. Use WyreBash or OBMM.
  15. As simple as it is, that's it. Just don't install it in any of the Program Files and you're good to go. I'd recommend making a folder just for your games, like C:\Games. WHen the installation wizard asks you where to install it, change it to what you want.
