  1. lol Actually I just did that! I had some Dwemer stuff in my inventory and I was like "oh snap! - I just deleted all that!" - however upon saving, those items are still there. I think by deleting the base objects - I simply deleted the spawns in the game, and not the items themselves ... otherwise the items in my inventory wouldn't have been there and my save quite possibly would have crashed. But good looking out! =) I'll add you to the credits too for your diligence! hehe =) Cheers.
  2. Well for a lot of the objects they only had single instances and the entire base could be deleted - I loaded the game several times in various places to make sure no crashes ensued. As far as I can tell from moving around the game in many many places I've cleared of objects - nothing bad happens. I'll consider it a beta test for now, and mark it as such - if someone gets a crash, or I do - I'll adjust for that in the future =)
  3. Did you not see that I have them earmarked as "used in quests" above? :) perhaps you misunderstood what that list was for? Those items I listed are the items that I haven't removed from the game as of yet - because I don't want to remove ALL of them - just some of them. Because we really don't need 107 drums or 687 human skulls, etc etc =) However, we do need some of them, because they are used for various things in the game. Hence my earlier question about how to remove certain entries and leave others alone within the same object =) My bad, I was probably unclear so you got confused. Thanks for pointing out that they could be used to make bonemeal. P.s. I still need to know how to sign my work (ie: make my name show up as the "author" in nexus MM) please and thanks. *edit - never mind I figured it out! ... devils in the details alright (chuckle)
  4. (chuckle) Ok, thanks =) It's not too bad really. I have cleared pretty much all the trash objects in the game with a few exceptions: Instruments: Lutes, Flutes and Drums - used in quests Human Skulls - Used in quests Dwarven Cogs - Used in quests / recipes Dwarven High Pots - Container? Dwarven Pot - Container? Various "Glazed" Items (Pots, Cups, plates, candlestick holders, etc) used for thieves guild most are fairly reasonable, in the low 100's or below that even ... human skulls though (cries) something like almost 700 of those ... that one is going to suck lol. I have however removed well over 10,000 items (very conservative guesstimate, considerably higher in reality most likely) from the game so that made me happy =) My other question probably got buried in that mess above, I was wondering if someone could tell me how to edit the author name please? (like if I load the mod in nexus MM it just says DEFAULT) Thanks again for all the assistance in helping me with this little project! =) Cheers.
  5. Lol I don't know about a year =) In any case, going through the list of clutter objects at the moment .. crazy big. I did find the "use info" command which is super useful, let's me know if I am going to remove something vital to a quest at least. My new question is how to preserve some of the objects on the list and delete others? like for example there is the QAMiscItemContainer which pretty much always seems to be needing the delete boot but others are actually used in quests, for example: QUST WEJS02 If I simply choose "delete" it will remove everything in the list, is there some way to remove individual users per item please? Thanks again =) **Edit - so far so good! Cleaned up a bunch of junk items - loaded the game up - no crash!, checked in a few places - nice and tidy wewt! hehe. Going better than I thought =) P.s. How do I fill out the "Author" field that shows up in the nexus mod manager please? P,s,s, to help clarify what I am looking at - and what I am trying to do: Take the item: FLUTE You'll see there are 107 flutes spawning in the game, if we look at the use info, we see the following: TYPE: CONT - QAMiscItemContainer NPC_ - Borri NPC_ - AtAfAlan NPC_ - AiaArria LVLI - LootCitizenChildsToyList 75 LVLI - LootCitizenChildsToyList QUST - BardsCollegeFlute So, when I look at this list, I see that the item spawns on 3 npcs, inside various containers, and is used in one quest. Since it's used in a quest, we can't very well get rid of all the flutes, however, do we really need 107 spawns of them in the game? I don't think we do. So then, the only way I can see to do this (with my extremely limited experience of oh...less than 2hrs lol) would be to look down in the use report to the "used in these cells" and delete individual entries as they appear in the game, but leaving some relevant entries so the quest can be completed. Is there any other faster way to do this? Cheers.
  6. Update #1 So, I decided to give this a go and create it myself, since no one else was chomping at the bit to make this amazing mod! =) As I am sitting here looking through the editor at the moment, I saw a number and just laughed out loud > Basic Tankard - guess how many clutter the games various tables, bars, etc? 100? 500? 1000? ... wrong, wrong and wrong... WAY more. The exact number? 4179! and people wonder why I would request a mod that help clear up clutter items =) and that is just ONE item type, there are LOADS, in any case, just thought I would share that little tidbit with you is all hehe. Back to work!
  7. Awesome, thanks very much for the quick reply - I get this completed, I'll credit you =) Cheers.
  8. Howdy, I have been trying for some time now, via emails and requests to get this mod made. Sadly, I haven't had any luck so, what the heck, I'll do it myself! =) I have never created a Mod before however and would like a little help on how to get started. Explain it like I'm an idiot please. So, basically here is what I want to do: I want the easiest way to get rid of all the "trash" in the game. This would include some the following items, with more to be added of course: - Utensils - Cooking objects (pots, pans, etc) - Empty bottles, jugs, etc - Burnt Books - Embalming Tools and the list goes on... So, I have the idea, the motivation, just need a little help on how to get to started please. Are all these items marked in the game the same way? as a useless item? and I can just tell the game to look for examples of said mark and simply remove it? or move it to other place in the game? If that isn't possible, would using the items worth work? would this of course lead to exceptions in the rule? I am sure I will have to go through a ton of item codes / values /etc and I really don't mind doing that, but if there is an easier way, that's fine too!. That's pretty much it, if someone could point me in the right direction that would be super =) Cheers.
  9. I've emailed some authors of mods similar to what I am asking for here in other games hoping to get some assistance. No word back as of yet, but I remain hopeful someone will help me clear up the trash in this game =) There are some interesting ways previous modders have gone about handling a request like mine, such as: - Having an item automatically collect all the "junk" items as you walk through a area and sends it off to a box in your home. - Another simply filtered out all items that sold below a set price, so any item sell for 0, 1, 2, gold wouldn't show up ever. Really just loads of interesting mods out there from previous games. Some more elegant than others to be sure. Another transferred all the items to a special container, which in turn allowed you to create special recipe items at a specialty crafter installed with the mod Honestly, I wouldn't mind terribly how the items were handled as long as I didn't have to see 900 plates, forks, bottles, tools, etc every trip through every area. It's all just so tedious and redundant. Fingers crossed someone gets back to me soon or someone here reads this humble request and decides to pick up the torch to help clean up skyrim =) Cheers.
  10. I'd be fine with losses - there are always work-rounds. As for "this mod is never going to happen" - there has been a mod exactly like this for all the previous fallout/morrowind type games that have come before it. Which is why I am asking for it here. I like to play through without a bunch of useless stuff drawing my eye away (ooh shiny! syndrome). I am quite sure there are many other people that would benefit from a mod like this, not only me. Perhaps it could be adjustable in some way, letting players select how much useless stuff they would like to have removed. Once again, thanks for the bumps. Cheers.
  11. No offense, but I didn't ask for your opinion on how to play the game =) You play your way, and I'll play mine - I am confident if we can maintain this delicate balance, we will get along famously =) Thanks for bumping! Cheers.
  12. Still looking for some clever individual to assist me with this please and thanks =)
  13. No one able to help? have any idea what I would need to do to create this?
  14. Hello, I am wondering if it's possible to create a mod that tracks all the books you currently own, so when your out in the world one of two things happens: a) you try to pick up a book and it warns you, you own it already or b) all other versions of said book go "poof!" so you only ever see a book that you need (preferred) Cheers.
  15. Hello, I am hoping someone can help me out. I am looking for a mod that can remove ALL the clutter from the game. This would include the following items (plus I am sure more that I won't think of as I type this)... > Utensils > Burnt Books > Embalming Tools and Supplies > Cookery > Plates, dishes, cups, etc > Food Items not in containers (cheese, bread, meat, etc) > Empty bottles (wine, etc) > Dwemer metal bits and bobs > etc Basically, I want to be able to move through a area and ONLY see items that would be worthwhile to pick up (ie: a potion, weapon, armor, skill book, quest object, etc). Anything else is only there to burden my pack and waste my time. I am a little OCD about checking everything and when playing games like this, I spend ridiculous amounts of time sifting, sorting, etc due to all the junk that is in the game that is essentially useless and serves no purpose other than to help immerse the player. I don' t require those objects for that reason and really only find them a hindrance. Never made a mod before myself, so I am not sure what is involved in stopping all of these clutter objects from spawning into the world - but I would even be willing to try to learn and how to do it myself, that's how much I want this mod! =) So, if it's possible and you can help out that would be amazing, or if it's not possible, or I am being unrealistic and need to modify my desires, please let me know that as well!. Cheers.
  16. ++ to this. I'd like to see it taken a step further and have piercings available everywhere, ears, nose, lip, nipples, etc
  17. These items don't need to be "items" for atmosphere - there are LOADS of items that aren't movable / etc - they could have made all these clutter items like those - wouldn't have a problem with them then, but I don't need to be running through a room and having bones, and other misc crap flying up and hitting me in the face, nor do I need to be looking for USEFUL stuff to pick up and having to burrow my way through 23 useless items to get at it. I'd just like to get into a room, loot it and move on with as little fuss as possible - I fail to see why this is so difficult to understand. If you feel you need to rummage through hundreds of useless items for atmosphere then hey who am I to judge - me, I don't have that problem. As for the performance issue - honestly it's not an issue and if it was an issue - I think you would have larger issues than worrying about how many embalming tools are on your screen lowering your FPS. Once again, this is a personal request for something I would find useful. You don't have to find it rational, logical, useful or anything else - There are thousands of mods out there, no one uses them all. Thanks again for the bump. Cheers.
  18. Yes, The female Khajits entire body / head needs A LOT of love. Would be fantastic if some of the really talented modders out there that have done work on the more human side would take a crack at the Khajits and the Argos, give them a complete overhaul. I'd like to see a couple of version actually: - One feclicia from darkstalkers type - a hybrid of human and animal - but leaning more towards humanoid - One thicker more animalistic mod with very little human traits - fur esp. needs to be worked on. Looks like a bad tattoo job currently.
  19. Bump for a worthy cause! - I love my kitty - but she just doesn't look right =( I think they did a horrible job on the animal type races sadly.
  20. I bump when I need to, and that's all I'm going to say about that. As for the actual conversation... - Your opinion on how much "clutter" YOU find acceptable - is a moot point. As this is MY request thread for a mod that I would find useful. You don't have to like it, or use it. Sorry to be blunt, but that's just the way it is. - The clutter, consists of any item that I can't pick up and find a use for - like all those dwarven cogs, and metal bits and bobs, broken pots and jugs, burnt books, embalming tools, wine bottles, ... just a ridiculous amount of useless junk shoved into a room to fill it up, and of course - being the type of person that I am, I MUST sift through it all to see if there is actually something I might WANT to pick up - I just find it a distraction that takes away from what makes the game enjoyable to me. If you feel that adds to the games atmosphere, great. I personally don't need it. There has been a mod like this for the various fallout series games, as well as the previous elder scroll games - So I really see no harm in requesting it for this game. Sadly I didn't think we would need the toolset to do something like this - but if I have to wait till then so be it. - Finally, the request for this mod has nothing to do with my system specs, or any sort of frame loss - I have zero problems playing the game maxed out, with loads of the improvement mods installed. Not sure why that got brought up. Thanks again for the bumps =) Cheers.
  21. - I don't like clutter - The items serve no purpose - They are bothersome when running through a room - I don't need clutter filling a room to keep me immersed in the game world I am sure I could list more reasons, but honestly the only one that matters it there is no reason for the items to be in the game. They are junk items, simple as that.
  22. I would hardly call a bump every 5-6 days "Excessive" bumping. As for the recycle mod - no thanks - I don't want the clutter period, not yet another reason to be lugging around pots and pans and what not for melting down. Finally, thanks for the bump =)
