  1. Yep, but it doesnât seem to carry over when I change tabs, which is where the problem usually comes up. To give an example, Iâll be changing the nose and all of a sudden the face will become extremely pale.
  2. Hi, Iâm trying to change some NPC faces in the GECK and Iâm having a strange issue where some changes seem to change the complexion/tone and the face will suddenly become really pale. It doesnât seem to be consistent either, Iâll use same slider after reloading and it wonât necessarily happen. It also happens if I edit the face manually by right clicking. Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks
  3. I don't think he's trying to be  Someone has already ready mentioned how 'PCSkyrim vs ConsoleSkyrim' compares to 'PCOblivion vs ConsoleOblivion', and that there is a big difference. Skyrim all modded out is really quite demanding! I wouldn't be suprised at the difference you're getting really. And graphics card does make a big difference - I think that's the point he's trying to make. I have similar specs to you and my computer is 4 years old! I don't think you can compare the two games because they run on the same generation console.
  4. I've just had a quick glimpse and I can already identify a few mods I might disable... I think game memory limit might be my problem? I only have a 1Gb graphics card and quite a lot of textures mods installed. I have a question about mod conflicts if you're able to help? I've got two mods installed that BOSS says conflict wiht each other- Ethereal Elven Overhaul and XCES (scarface). The thread you linked mentioned conflicts to do with editing world objects, but these mods (as far as I'm aware!) just effect the chargen, could the conflict between these two cause ctds?
  5. Thanks Dave, ill remove beautiful whiterun and see if that helps. Are there any general strategies for trying to figure out ctds? Any other things I can do? Just one more thing, I'm not sure how it works in Skyrim, but could the Whiterun mod cause crashes even when I'm not in Whiterun? I've experienced ctds a lot in other areas.
  6. Hi, I've been getting ctds while playing Skyrim for a little while now, I tried handling it myself but it's not helped any. It's actually been a month or so since I played, so my memory on the details is not the best sorry. I downloaded a bunch of animation mods in March and that is when the ctds started, I removed most of them until the crashes stopped and thought things had been solved. I started installing mods and eventually the ctds started up again. I don't think it was just animation mods that were causing ctds the second time round, I also tried to make sure I didn't use any animation mods that required esps. There's a possibility there are some files in the meshes folder left over, could these cause the ctds? I'll try and list the times/places I got/get crashes: One ctd took place when I equiped some armor on my characterOne ctd I was just on horseback riding somewhere and it randomly ctdI get ctds sometimes just as the game is about to load, right after the loading screen goes awayentering/leaving buildings, I had this happen in breezehome/whiterun and some inn (can't remember where sorry!)another things ive noticed is that when im trying out different skin mods (I'll be coming in and out of Skyrim trying different mods) that installing a different one causes a ctd when it loads, I can load the game the second time I try. These are mods that come with esps btw, not like navetsea's. These are BOSS recognised plugins: These are the ones not recognised: I previously went through the boss log and dealt with all the errors I could find. I know I'm using both EEO and XCES, I had used these two together for a while and I was happy using the scars of the XCES for the non elf races and letting the EEO file override any changes for the elves. I posted on the mod pages to ask whether the compatibility issue was just in terms of one overwriting the changes of another, or if using the two together could cause ctds as well. I didn't get any reply though. My PC uses an Intel i7 2.67 processor, has 12 gigs of RAM and uses an ATI Radeon 5800 series (I think its a 5870, I've not been able to find out). The computer is 4 years old ish. Please let me know if i need to provide any more information, and thanks for any help that can be offered!
  7. I've started getting ctd's and so am trying to go through the process of cleaning mods and sorting out load order, I have a few questions though! I have read somewhere that certain mods shouldn't be cleaned? I just wanted to find out about this and see what people know. My other question is about incompatible mods. I have EEO and XCEScarface, which are incompatible. Do incompatible mods have the potential to cause ctd's or is it just that I won't be able to use one without it overwriting the other? At the moment I just use both and put EEO before XCEs. Thanks
  8. Edit: I had a follower makeover that depended on Natural Eyes, which I didn't have installed. Should teach me to read a mod description properly... =============================================================================================================== I installed a few mods recently and I found out the other night that I'm having a strange problem when I'm in the character creation menu on the eye colour slider: there are dozens and dozen of duplicate eyes towards the beginning of the slider, all the same colour brown, and there are some 'blank' eyes, where the eye meshes dont seem to have any texture applied to them. There are perhaps 45/50 of these eyes on the orc race, but on the humanoid races there are about 400  - in total there are about 600 eye colours on the slider for nord/imperial/breton/redguards - and it's effecting females only. This is in addition to the 'normal' eyes that are meant to be included with eye textures I have installed, for some reason loads of extra eyes have been added. It doesn't effect NPCs either. http://i47.tinypic.com/et5s1i.jpg http://i50.tinypic.com/j6t07p.jpg (sorry for the massive pictures) I have both Eyes of Beauty and Improved Eyes installed - I installed them a few weeks ago and at the time they worked fine (I know this because I spent hours looking at all the eye colours and making sure I had the correct eye colours I wanted as defaults etc). I also have Improved Race Menu and ShowRaceMenu Alternative installed, again I don't think they are the problem as I checked the eyes out when I first installed them a few weeks ago. I have installed quite a few mods since then, but no eye textures. I did try and install some mods that opened up the number of eye, lip shapes etc available to the difference races, I don't have it installed any more, but I may well have 'saved' my character while the mod was active - having said that I tried loading some really early save games, when I had virtually no mods installed, and I have the same problem. I've installed some skin and skeleton mods, but those are the only appearance mods I've installed since the eyes. I've started using some posers etc also. The really frustrating thing is that I have uninstalled Improved Eyes and Eyes of Beauty, and then the 2 race menu mods, but the duplicate and texture less eyes are still there :wallbash: I've tried to remove every file associated with these mods but maybe I have missed something? The mods I installed this weekend were Beautiful Whiterun, ATTK, Interior Fog, WATER and a few Breezehome mods but I didn't like any of them - I wouldn't expect any of these mods to cause problems with the character creator ? Sorry for the long rambling post, I've tried to include as much info as I can. I was hoping someone who had an understanding of the Construction Kit and the Skyrim mod file system can help figure out what caused it and why it won't go away
  9. Hi, I tried out a couple of Lydia mods recently, but decided that i'd like to get back the original version of her and try changing her face myself using the NPC creator. Only problem is that I can't get her face back to how it was previously - I've removed all the mods as far as I'm aware but the facemorph is still resembles one of the mods I installed (at least I think it does, it doesn't look like the original face anyway!). The one mod I tried had an esp and two mesh and texture files, and the other mod had just an esp and bsa file. Could anyone explain what's happened and if I can reverse it, and also explain why so I can avoid doing the same in the future  thanks actually, another strange thing I get is that the face that loads up in the NPC editor is completely different from the face that she loads with in game...
  10. Hi, I always have problems with huge glaring neckseams in certain light, regardless of what textures/seam fixes I use. I was just wondering if the enb you used and any of the lighting mods had any effect on this? If they made the problem any better etc! thanks
  11. thankyou for all the replies! @aegrus I'm not very good with the technical side of enbs sorry, how will I know if an enb is using shadow filtering? Is it something that is likely to be specifically stated in the enb description and would editing the shadow res be something I'll find in one of the enb guides floating around? cheers
  12. Hi, I've started playing Skyrim again recently and set out downloading all manner of texture and enb mods to try out, but my computer has struggled to run the game smoothly :ermm: and I realised the other day that it's three years old... I've got a i7 2.67Ghz processor, 12 gigs of RAM and a radeon HD 5850 1Gb (I dont actually know which specific one in the 5800 series it is so just picked the middle...). I downloaded the Seasons of Skyrim enb and the Texture Pack Combiner and my fps dropped to the 20s  I tramped round town the other day to ask advice from all the techy shops and they said to upgrade my graphics card, but I just wanted to check out round here as Skyrim is the game I specifically want to play, and to also check whether thats the kind of frame rate i should expect on my computer with those mods installed? I'm happy to buy a new graphics card but I can't really afford the super-duper ones, but I'd like to avoid buying another graphics card for 2 or 3 years after if possible! Thanks!
  13. Hi, I've noticed from browsing the images section that a few users combine parts of the different beauty mods (I'm talking facial here!). I wanted to know how easy this is to do and if anyone could explain the different components of the mods, how to use to use this from mod A, and then that from mod B, that kind of thing? Or perhaps point me towards any tutorials if they exist? Thanks
